Chapter 127 "Being handsome has its advantages, one..."

Chapter 127 "Being handsome has its advantages, one..."

"What's wrong with you?" He smiled. "Why are you looking so silly again? If you're always so silly, you'll be easy to be taken advantage of."

That night, he took me to bed with him, tying the rope that was binding me to his wrist, where the veins were bulging. I slept far away from him, on the sheet near the foot of the bed, but he didn't seem to care. It seemed that as long as I was near him, he didn't care exactly where I was.

I barely slept a wink all night. He already knows who I am, making it even more difficult for me to get to the secret room.

My guess was right. After everything was exposed, he kept an even tighter watch on me. I used to be able to stay in the bedroom during the day, but after that night, he always took me with him, carrying that golden cage with him wherever he went.

But because of this, I heard a lot of news that I wouldn't normally hear.

The feud between the uncle and Di Yaruo: The uncle knows that Di Yaruo has escaped from prison and is doing everything he can to capture her.

The East and the North are at war.

King Midian was so fond of his lover that he angered his queen, who then ran away. He had no choice but to go to the largest capital city in the western frontier, where his father-in-law lived, in an attempt to bring her back, but she never returned.

Some of the brothers and sisters that King Midian drove away are secretly plotting to return.

I also saw several nobles arguing: this year the economy is sluggish and taxes are low, so the nobles all hope that other nobles will pay more and they will pay less.

“Let me tell you,” Bernard whispered to me, “there’s even more filth in the East. Now you understand why I couldn’t come to you right away.”

I curled up on the soft cushion in the cage, with my eyes closed.

Does it matter whether he comes to find me or not? He thinks too highly of himself. Besides, do you think he can even find the entrance to the Elf Realm? I sneered inwardly.

Suddenly, the words "secret room" reached my ears, and my ears perked up, but I kept my eyes closed.

"The contract was officially placed in the confidential room yesterday. Please rest assured, Your Highness and the officials of the Eastern Territory." The speaker was a red-robed guard.

"The official signing will be in three days?" Bernard asked.

"Yes."

They only put me in yesterday? I thought they'd put me in a while ago. It seems Di Ya Ruo put me in as soon as she received the message about the secret room, several days ahead of schedule. Di Ya Ruo really is a very swift person.

A commotion arose outside the hall, and the nobles who were discussing matters all looked over. "My dear brother, look who I've brought!" A cheerful and loud voice rang out, revealing a tall young man in a magnificent white robe and a petite beauty wearing a white fox fur cloak over a light blue gauze dress, adorned with a pearl necklace and a sapphire forehead ornament.

The nobles' gazes suddenly turned to Bernard, their expressions ambiguous and teasing.

"Your Highness!" The petite beauty rushed to Bernard, smiling sweetly.

“I ran into her at the palace gate,” the young man in the magnificent white robe said with a smile as he stepped forward. “She came specifically to see you, so I brought her here.”

"It's been freezing rain in the West lately, what brings you here?" Bernard asked the petite beauty gently.

She smiled charmingly, "I only came to keep Your Highness company."

The nobles burst into laughter. "Prince Bernard is so lucky!" "Lady Bellanine came all this way." "Is she afraid the prince will find a new love?"

Bernard simply smiled. The petite beauty's eyes lit up when she saw the miniature cage in his arms. "Your Highness, I heard you have a pet. Is this it?" she asked, reaching out to touch it, but Bernard dodged her.

The nobles were all taken aback for a moment, and Bernard smiled even more gently, "A rat can bite."

The petite woman didn't seem to mind, saying, "It's okay if it bites; it means it's protecting itself."

The meeting was temporarily adjourned, and the nobles left with ambiguous expressions. The young man in the magnificent white robe whispered something to Bernard, his voice so low that I couldn't hear it.

Seeing that I seemed to be listening intently, Bernard handed the golden cage to a maid not far away, saying, "Put it back in my bedroom and lock the door."

"yes."

The petite beauty, who was three steps away from us, seemed to want to take it, but Bernard gave her a cold look and she withdrew her hand.

The maid led me back to my bedroom. On the way, we encountered several nobles, and in addition to bowing according to custom, the maid had to walk behind them.

The nobles walked ahead at a leisurely pace, while the maids walked three steps behind them, proceeding cautiously.

Through the gossip of these nobles, I learned that the young man in the magnificent white robe was Yoli, the adopted son of Abdul of the Yod family. Yoli's mission this time was far more important than that of Bennot. It was an open secret that Abdul's relationship with Bennot had become increasingly distant, and that he was vigorously cultivating his adopted son Yoli and entrusting him with many important tasks.

That petite beauty was Bernard's mistress, whom he had been dating for only six months, and he was very much favored by her.

"Prince Bernard no longer has a chief mistress. His former chief mistress was disfigured and abandoned, and he has not appointed a new one since."

"His former mistress was a real stunner; I've never met a woman more charming than her."

"It's a pity. I don't know who drugged her. Strange red bumps and red and green spots have appeared on her face and body. It looks scary."

"Why doesn't Prince Bernard have a mistress anymore? He's very popular with rich and powerful women, and finding another one would bring him a lot of benefits."

"Perhaps he already has someone in mind. I received news two weeks ago that he is getting very close to the widowed sister of the Eastern Prime Minister."

"Will this newly widowed sister of the Eastern Prime Minister be his new chief mistress?"

"Very likely."

“It’s good to be handsome,” the nobleman exclaimed, “a whole bunch of women will throw themselves at you.”

"That's right. Every year in the Eastern Territory, women fight over him. The disfigured chief mistress once beat a noblewoman who was competing with her so badly that she was left with a bloody head, broken legs, and bedridden for three months. When the noblewoman's family came to make a scene, Prince Benott actually protected the disfigured woman and even made her his chief mistress. After that, she was all-powerful in Prince Benott's circle of mistresses."

Several nobles burst into laughter.

This gossip is quite interesting; if I weren't a mouse, I would have laughed out loud too.

Late at night, Bernard, wearing a thin nightgown, entered the bedroom alone. I was somewhat disappointed; I had thought he would bring his mistress in so I could witness a major battle.

—Let's see how the legendary number one handsome man operates.

“You don’t need to worry,” the most handsome man said, crouching down in front of the golden cage, “No one can take your place.”

He then took out the long, elastic rope, threaded it through the cage bars, tied it around my neck, and then opened the cage door.

“We could have met in the Eastern Territory, why didn’t you come looking for me?” He placed me in his palm and suddenly said, “You’re always so indifferent to me, it really annoys me. The first time I saw you, back in Black Castle in the Land of Death, I knew you were a nuisance, that you would bring me endless trouble, and I was right. I’ve already sent you back, why did you come back, and why are you being so close to me?”

He pressed me close to his nose, saying, "You've seen my body completely, which annoys me. What annoys me even more is that you see it but don't touch me. When we occasionally switch back to our original bodies, I always wait for you to touch me, but you just don't."

I sat unmoved in his palm.

"So you've taken a fancy to the Elf King now? Let me tell you, he's no good. He's been paralyzed for so many years, he's probably mentally unstable, and he probably can't even do that." He suddenly got angry, tied the other end of the rope to his wrist, and put me on the bed.

To my astonishment, the thin robe fell off his body, revealing his strong, muscular, and gleaming physique.

What's even more terrifying is that he stuck me all over his body, from top to bottom, and I was so scared that I didn't dare to move.

He stopped pressing me against something below his lower abdomen. I froze even more.

He put me on it.

“When you turn back,” he said sullenly, “I’ll make you lick me.”

"..."

At that moment, an evil thought arose in my mind: I wanted to bite it off with the rat's teeth so that its owner would never dare to bully me in this way again.

But I dared not, for fear that its owner would go crazy from the pain of being bitten and would use my mouse fur as a towel to violently rub it on its body.

I'm not exaggerating; he's starting to treat me like a towel, rubbing against me all over.

I couldn't resist biting him, of course, his restless hand. He pulled his hand back, smiled, and then stopped treating me like a towel.

I ran away, hiding under the sheets.

He seemed to know I was a little angry, so he didn't "chase" me and let me stay hidden under the sheets.

I was still asleep when I heard a knock on the door. I remained huddled under the covers, motionless. I heard the door open, and then I heard Bernard's gentle voice: "Are you feeling better?"

“If it weren’t for the sudden fever last night,” came the sobbing voice of Bellani from yesterday, “she would have been able to stay with His Highness.”

"I got home very late last night," he said, seemingly trying to comfort her.

"Your Highness, I made breakfast for you. I got up very early to make it."

"oh?"

I stopped listening after that, because I suddenly realized that the other end of the rope binding me was about to come loose. He went to open the door without me, so he must have cut the rope on my wrist. I quickly jumped off the bed, and sure enough, I was free.

With the long rope attached, I rushed to the window at top speed. The window was slightly ajar for ventilation, and I squeezed through with all my might.

As soon as I jumped out of the window, I heard what sounded like movement inside the room, so I ran even faster. I've never run so fast in my life; I practically disappeared into the dense grass in a flash.

Afterwards, I followed a few people carrying dishes into the kitchen, and when no one was around, I bravely jumped onto the cleaver and, with great effort, managed to cut off most of the rope.

Now I don't have to worry about being suddenly lifted up with a rope.

I started looking for a secret room. It wasn't going to be an easy task.

I wandered around all day without finding a single clue. That night, I found a safe tree hollow to sleep in and slept soundly until dawn.

Two days passed like this, and then I suddenly remembered that someone had said the signing would take place in three days. I immediately rushed to the hall. Maybe I could witness the signing and see the contract. Even if I couldn't get my hands on it, I could follow the person with the contract to the secret room and then wait for an opportunity to act.
