Chapter 214 It seems we can never be apart...

The next morning, Mamboya came to visit. He had barely entered when Bernard came in right after him. The two sat facing each other, and I sat on the other side. We barely spoke, though Bernard did ask a few questions about the scenery of the North.

Manberia replied with a grin, occasionally adding something like, "Even if the North is cold, it's still warmer than Black Castle." He could live in Black Castle for several years, so why couldn't he live comfortably in the North? Besides, the North was his territory.

“While you were enjoying yourself in the Black Tower, we were all suffering in cages. Having endured that kind of suffering, we are no longer afraid of any other suffering.” Manberia smiled, showing no trace of the suffering he had endured in the past.

“What do you mean by ‘enjoying life’?” Bernard laughed as well. “Lying down like a dead man is considered enjoying life?”

“When you and your fiancée escaped from the tower, did you ever think of helping the girl next to you, taking her with you? I was the one who caught her, otherwise she would have been crushed to death by the collapsing tower.” Manberia looked at me with a smile again.

“That’s because we could only save one person at the time, and I thought it was my fiancée who saved me. I thought she was cleaning.” Bernard’s smile was forced; clearly, Mambeya had hit a nerve.

Mamboya laughed loudly, "Haha, aren't you afraid she'll get angry saying that? Mistaking the person who saved your life for a cleaner?"

To be honest, I wasn't angry. I was indeed cleaning at the time, and I was wearing cleaning clothes; my disheveled appearance was also typical of cleaning.

A cleaning lady rescues a prince from the Black Tower, leading to a bizarre story.

The cleaning lady failed to marry into wealth, and the prince did not help her rise to the top.

The prince only wanted her as his mistress, without any official status, but he was willing to pay her. He would pay within his means, but beyond that, sorry, he couldn't.

I burst out laughing. That's really not as good as being with the Elf King; at least he's the king of a nation. Since I'm going to be a mistress anyway, I might as well be with a big boss.

Bernard didn't know why I was laughing and frowned at me. Mamboy, however, smiled strangely, as if he could read my mind.

Little Asmin rushed in and threw herself into Mamboy's arms, crying, "Father! Father!"

"My little baby!"

Mamboy picked her up, lifted her above his head, and spun her around a few times. She screamed excitedly and giggled.

The two played for a while, then collapsed on the sofa, laughing heartily and thoroughly enjoying themselves.

"Father, are you coming to take me home?" Little As asked in a clear and bright voice.

"Yes."

"What about Mother? Is Mother coming home with us?"

Mamboya smiled at me and asked, "Does your mother want to go back?"

I just looked at Bernard with a half-smile and said, "That depends on whether your uncle agrees or not."

It's absurd that I need his permission when I'm not even his wife! But I truly have no say in the matter. My house is controlled by Bennot, with guards watching over it day and night. My personal freedom is entirely in his hands. King Amur can't and doesn't want to interfere; he never meddles in things that don't concern him. So, I've fallen into Bennot's hands.

Bernard smiled. "Why leave? Isn't it better to stay here?"

Little Asmin rushed to Bernard, "Uncle, Father is taking us back, we want to go back."

Bernard gently stroked her little face. "Your mother is the wife of another prince and cannot easily leave the Eastern Territory."

Little Asami looked disappointed, wanting to say something but unsure how. She was still a child; how could she logically organize her thoughts?

Bernard waved, and the nanny outside immediately came in, coaxed little Asmin into taking her out for tea and snacks.

Mamboa looked at me with a smile, "You and your daughter stay for two more days, and I will take her back to the North after two days."

I leaned back on the sofa, too lazy to pay him any attention.

After a while, perhaps feeling bored, he got up to leave. "Why are you leaving? Have another cup of tea." I picked up the teapot on the table and was about to pour a cup when my hand slipped, and the teapot fell to the ground and shattered into several pieces.

I froze for a moment, then hurriedly reached to pick it up. Bernard quickly stopped me, but my hand was still cut by a shard, and blood gushed out.

“The maids can handle it,” Bernard said unhappily.

“I thought it was just a few pieces, nothing to worry about.” I picked up a piece casually. “Look, this piece isn’t sharp at all, who would have thought it would hurt someone.”

I first showed it to Bernard, and then to Mamboya. Mamboya frowned. "Prince Bernard, you're too stingy. Hire a few more maids. She's been reduced to cleaning."

"Two are enough, too many people will make things complicated." I laughed and was about to throw away the piece of debris, but I accidentally grazed Manberia's face. Manberia was quick-witted and blocked it with his hand. With a hiss, it grazed the back of his hand.

Bernard laughed loudly, bending over backward, clearly thinking I was doing it on purpose.

I did it on purpose, and I quickly took out a handkerchief to wipe the blood gushing from the back of his hand.

"Oh dear, I'm so sorry, I'm so clumsy, I didn't expect to cut you."

Manberia, however, snatched the shards from my hand and threw them far away, saying, "It's good that you're not hurt again."

I was taken aback for a moment.

He smiled at me.

Bernard immediately stepped forward and pulled me aside, saying, "Go and get your wound bandaged first."

Hero and Aya appeared out of nowhere, quickly grabbed me, and led me out of the living room.

In the study, I covered the yellowed paper with a blood-stained handkerchief, making the map clearer and adding more lines to connect with the previous breaks.

“We’re still missing two people,” I murmured, looking at the map. “How do we get the blood of Haiya and Nasia?”

I've gotten my hands on the blood of Mamboa, Desen, and Yanni. Deya is gone, but I've gotten her daughter Beatrice's blood too. I've even gotten Bernot's blood. But there are two others who are too far away for me to get.

Although Beatrice lives close to Haya, she won't help me, and Haya is unlikely to send me her blood voluntarily.

As for Nathia, it's even more difficult; he's in the Elven Realm.

That night, perhaps provoked by Mamboya, Bernard desperately wanted to sleep with me. He stripped naked and pounced on me, which terrified me so much that I screamed. He quickly grabbed me and pinned me to the bed.

I cursed him, but after only two sentences, he silenced me with a passionate kiss.

He kissed my earlobe and whispered, "How long has it been since you've been intimate with me? Don't you miss men?"

He knew that I had never been with Dessen after we got married.

“It’s all your fault,” I said with difficulty as he covered my lips with his, “You’re the one who made Desmond afraid to get close to me.”

He laughed, released me slightly, and then kissed my face hard again. "If he dares to get close to you, I'll kill all his offspring."

"You threatened him?" I asked in surprise.

"yes."

I simply couldn't believe it. "How could you do this?"

"Why not?" He kissed my lips again, kissing me so hard I was breathless.

"He and I are husband and wife."

"You and I are husband and wife."

I woke up in the cool breeze of early morning. Bonot, completely naked, lay beside me. The moment I moved, he woke and kissed my cheek.

We went wild all night. I started hitting him, then biting him, and even punching and kicking him. At first, he tolerated me and let me have my way, but then he couldn't take it anymore and started scratching and biting me too. Somehow, we ended up rolling around and wrestling, and we actually made love on the bed.

They did it pretty wildly.

I kicked, bit, and cursed at him, while he kissed, grabbed, and scratched me.

My body is covered in his scratches, though they aren't deep, they're red hickeys everywhere.

He was covered in wounds, with bloodstains on his face. But now he kissed me, a tender kiss, like kissing a wounded little animal.

As they kissed, his passion ignited again.

We intertwined, blended, and rolled into a ball.

Half an hour later, the panting and shouting stopped.

We hugged each other tightly. I was covered in sweat, wet and sticky, clinging to him. He held me, stroking me up and down, and as he stroked me, he became aroused again.

Even if the wind blowing in through the open window is cool, it cannot extinguish the fire that has reignited.

I was even sweatier and wetter, blending into his slippery body.

It seems like we can never be apart, not even for a lifetime.

In the afternoon, while he was sound asleep, there was a sudden knock on the door, and Hero's urgent voice came through, "Prince Bernot, the King has been attacked and is now seriously injured."

I went to the palace with Benoît. I hesitated about coming along, but Benoît insisted. He was worried about my safety; things were a bit chaotic.

The palace of King Amur was filled with weeping. The royal physicians and female healers were frantically busy. King Amur continued to bleed.

"Queen Nerei, no, Lady Nerei, suddenly stabbed the king in the back. The king turned around, furious, and tried to draw his sword, but Lady Nerei was faster and stabbed him five or six more times. By the time the guards rushed over, the king was already bleeding profusely."

A guard hurriedly reported to Bernard.

“Where is Mrs. Nere?” Bernard asked.

"Mrs. Nere was about to harm herself with a knife when she was stopped, and she is now being held in the dungeon."

The pungent smell of blood filled my nostrils, making me want to vomit. As I left the palace to get some fresh air in the corridor, I could still hear King Amur shouting in agony, "Damn it, kill that woman, kill her!"

He can still shout! It seems his injuries aren't that serious.

Maids carried basins of blood in and out, the royal physicians were overwhelmed with work, and the nobles had to provide emotional support in order to keep King Amur in check.

Surrounded by four or five guards, Manberia hurried over, his snow-white robes fluttering past my clothes. His whispered words also drifted into my ears, "This time, I will take you back."

I just find it laughable. He must be dreaming!

Unexpectedly, the situation in the entire court changed the very next night. King Amur fell critically ill, and the three major families—the Moste, Durand, and Yod—were stirring up trouble. The palace of the half-blood prince, Bernard, was surrounded, Queen Nora's core family members were taken into custody, and the old noble house where I lived was also completely besieged.

Gazing at the flickering firelight outside, I calmed down.
