Chapter 78 Amazing, absolutely amazing! ...

Chapter 78 Amazing, absolutely amazing! ...

The sounds of clashing swords rang out, along with screams and agonizing cries of flesh being pierced. I was extremely familiar with these sounds—I often heard them back in the wilderness.

The battle ended quickly, in just a few minutes; it seemed that "our" side was no match for the enemy at all.

"They even dare to rob our horses?! They've got some nerve!" A sinister voice rang out.

"There are still people under the carriage," someone reported.

The carriage that was pressing down on me was suddenly thrown aside, and my hood was ripped off.

A biting wind blew against my face, and when I looked clearly, I was horrified.

Corpses were scattered everywhere, blood flowed all over the ground, and a group of horses that had been drugged were loaded onto another large carriage that had not fallen over.

Several centaurs—half-human, half-orcs—were holding torches and watching me warily. Several other extremely tall men with human faces and wolf bodies, wielding long spears, approached me.

This isn't the first time I've seen orcs. Years ago, when I became Bernot and stood on the castle's high platform directing the war, I witnessed an incredibly ferocious orc army.

But I'm still scared.

I raised my hands in surrender, and spoke through the pain in my body: "I didn't steal your horses, really. I'm a victim too, I was kidnapped, I was just passing by the stable at the time."

A man with a human face and a wolf's body turned around and glanced back. Only then did I notice another man in the shadows. I couldn't make out his face, but he seemed to be their commander.

"Take him away first, we have important business to attend to," he said coldly, his voice exactly the same as the one who had said "you've got a death wish."

——————————

Three days later, on the boundless blue sea, a heavy rain had just passed, and the cold wind howled, causing a not-so-sturdy ship to rock and sway.

I stood on the deck of the ship with a broom, trying to maintain my balance and sweeping the filth that was rushing up to the side.

Luo An was assisting a half-sailor on the side to scoop the water from the stern of the boat out of the water.

I managed to plead for Luo An to stay. At that time, I was dragged up from the ground by a man with a wolf's body and a human face. I saw the unconscious Luo An being about to be stabbed with a spear by another man with a wolf's body. I was so scared that I knelt down and begged him to spare my brother. I was crying uncontrollably and almost kowtowing. The man in the shadows was probably in a hurry to get on his way and got impatient. He waved his hand and let Luo An go.

Luo An and I were blindfolded and taken to a stable for two days, spending the entire time with the horses. On the third day, the horses were released, and Luo An and I were also released.

They were blindfolded again and taken aboard this dilapidated seagoing vessel.

The ship encountered strong winds and heavy rain, and it rocked violently.

I was so nauseous that I felt dizzy, and Luo An kept patting my back.

The heavy rain finally stopped, and I had just recovered when the two half-goat people started yelling at us to come up to the deck to do some work. Roan and I quickly grabbed brooms and buckets...

After sweeping away the dirt, I took a rag, squatted on the deck, and vigorously wiped away the water stains.

After wiping down most of the ship's deck, I was summoned before the head supervisor. The head supervisor was the man in the shadows that night.

He had a fair and handsome face, was extremely tall and thin, and had long gray hair tied in a ponytail.

At first glance, you might mistake it for a girl, but its sharp eyes and sinister aura suggest it's not something a girl could possess.

"Do you know where you're going?" he asked coldly.

I shook my head. To be honest, I still don't understand what happened that night.

“I kept you because our princess has never seen a girl from the main continent and wanted one to keep by her side,” he said expressionlessly. “I didn’t have time to search everywhere, so I kept you.”

So that's how it is. I was wondering why this man was so agreeable that night, letting me go after I begged. Turns out he had other plans.

Wait a minute, would he just leave a strange girl by the princess's side so casually?

"You..." I had a bold guess, "...do you know me?!"

He stared at me with a cold look in his eyes.

“Black Castle, Manboya’s room,” he actually answered me, in an extremely cold tone.

"You..." I stared at him in disbelief, and after a long pause, I managed to utter the rest of my sentence, "Which one?!"

"Pewter anklet".

I vaguely remember that the eldest princess wore a gold anklet, the second princess a silver anklet, the third princess a copper anklet, the fourth princess an iron anklet, the fifth princess a tin anklet, and the sixth princess a lead anklet.

I was so shocked that I couldn't speak.

In the middle of the night, I leaned against a bag of flour in the cargo hold at the bottom of the ship, unable to fall asleep for a long time. On the other side, Luo An was already fast asleep.

I don't have much of an impression of this fifth princess. Apart from the eldest princess, Manboya, and the youngest princess, Yanni, I don't remember the others.

The others seemed quiet and didn't do anything out of line, so I didn't notice them.

It turns out that the princess might actually be a prince, or—a high-ranking official.

I tossed and turned, unable to sleep, and stayed awake until dawn.

As the ship entered a narrow and treacherous strait, two bare-armed giants, taller than the cliffs themselves, suddenly emerged from the seabed and appeared at the bow, scaring Roan and me so much that we collapsed onto the deck.

The sailors, however, were unfazed. The two half-goat men even laughed at our cowardice, grinning from ear to ear, until the Fifth Princess appeared—no, the Grand Supervisor.

The two half-goat people stood up straight, which made people laugh.

The chief officer, dressed in white riding attire, raised his hands and muttered something. Suddenly, two bare-armed giants each embraced a cliff and a mountain, uprooting them completely. Yes, uprooting them completely.

I was so shocked that I didn't blink.

A rapidly spinning whirlpool appeared between the giants, and our ship was uncontrollably heading towards it. Roan and I cried out in alarm at the same time and immediately grabbed onto a mast. With a loud bang, the entire ship was swept into the whirlpool. The icy seawater enveloped me, and I gurgled and gurgled. At that moment, I thought I was drowning.

When I came to, my ears and neck were completely filled with water, and my hair was soaked like it had been raining. I was sitting on the deck like a drowned rat, clinging tightly to the mast.

Luo An was also in a sorry state, his whole body soaked in water.

Looking at the others, including the head of the department and the half-sheep, they had already put on waterproof clothing and were naturally not as soaked as we were.

I felt a little embarrassed and pretended not to notice the mockery in other people's eyes.

Suddenly I noticed something was different around me —

The ship had entered a turquoise sea, surrounded by towering green plants.

It's clearly the sea, but it's like a primeval forest.

A short distance across the sea, you can see some tall, large green plants with their roots deeply embedded in the seabed, stretching upwards with lush foliage to cover the somewhat hot sunlight overhead.

I was stunned. I sat at the bow of the boat, staring intently. Then, beautiful clusters of purple and red flowers appeared, swaying gently in the sea breeze.

The icy green seawater, the lush green broad leaves, and the bright and beautiful flowers intertwine to create a strange and wonderful scene.

The ship sailed through the greenery and flowers, almost dazzling the eyes.

After leaving the forested sea, we entered a vast, crimson ocean, a color even redder than blood. There were no green plants, no flowers, just an empty, crimson expanse. Not long after entering this sea, the ship suddenly sank. I was terrified, for I hadn't had time to put on my waterproof clothing.

However, after the ship sank, it immediately entered a peculiar underwater tunnel, which was like a dark, black cave, and the ship sped through it.

I clung tightly to the mast, too scared to even breathe.

About ten minutes later, the ship emerged from the underwater tunnel, and the blinding sunlight hit me, making it impossible for me to open my eyes.

We entered another blue sea. Not far ahead, a magnificent island appeared. Even from my distance, I could still see lush greenery, vibrant mountains, and colorful long-tailed birds circling above the island.

Amazing, absolutely amazing!!!

As the ship drew closer to the island, its magical beauty continued to assault my vision, and I couldn't help but stand up from the deck.

"Who exactly are you?" I asked, walking up to the head steward. "Are you really orcs?!"

"You still think we're orcs?!" he retorted.

I nodded slightly. He stared at me with a half-smile, "You seemed to have some sense when you were at Black Castle, but it turns out you're just like my first impression—brainless."

"Please enlighten me!!" I was not angry at all, but instead respectfully asked for your guidance.

He squinted at me and gave a vague reply, "You'll find out eventually."

As the ship docked, a flock of colorful birds with long tails suddenly flew towards it, chirping and squawking, which startled Luo Anlian and me, causing us to take several steps back.

"Chirp!" They seemed quite pleased that we were startled.

But when the chief officer stepped forward, they scattered again, landing on the bow of the boat and chirping at us once more.

"Lord Nasiah!" A soldier in silver armor led a group of guards in bronze armor to greet the chief.

His name was Nasiah.

I secretly observed them and noticed that their skin was exceptionally white, astonishingly white, and incredibly smooth. The soldiers in their silver armor had fair skin that blended seamlessly with their armor, making them appear to shimmer.

Who exactly are they?!

"Princess Marcy urged us to come out and greet you early this morning," the silver-armored soldier said respectfully, bowing.

The head steward smiled faintly. "You all go back first and tell the princess that I have brought her a gift."

I couldn't help but feel a little scared. Luo An moved closer to me.

A gift?! I can imagine this Princess Marcy is like Princess Yanni—a spoiled and eccentric girl who treats people like inanimate objects. Good heavens, please don't carve anything on me!!

"Sister, don't be afraid," Luo An whispered.

I shook my head and gestured to him with my eyes not to be too nervous.

Forget it, I'll deal with whatever comes my way. As long as they don't kill me, I'll still have a chance to live.

Once ashore, we followed the welcoming silver-armored soldiers and crossed a vast expanse of golden sand before arriving at a wide, deep green forest.

Dozens of fine brown horses and two black carriages were parked at the entrance to the forest. One carriage was exquisite and beautiful, while the other was simple but larger.

The silver-armored soldiers and guards undoubtedly mounted their horses, the Grand Master Nacia boarded the exquisite carriage, while Roan, the half-goat, and the other sailors squeezed into the simple one.

The carriage was crowded, and I was squeezed into a small corner.

Luo An stood close to me, separating me from the crowd of others.
