Chapter 134 Without warning, I just...
After a while, I stood up from the water, brushed my wet hair aside, and suddenly saw what was in front of me. I was so surprised that I slipped. A pair of long, hot hands with distinct knuckles and bulging veins wrapped around my waist and supported me steadily.
It turned out to be Bernard, with his eight-pack abs and broad chest.
An elegant and powerful waistline, a subtly revealed rounded and perky buttocks, and sexy long legs are all on full display in the hot spring water.
What's truly astounding is that you can also vaguely see tiny grasses growing in the spring water, grasses growing beneath him.
I hurriedly closed my eyes and turned my face away. "What are you doing here?"
The management is far too lax; they actually allowed a naked man to brazenly enter the Queen's hot spring.
"I am honored to be the Queen's intimate companion." He suddenly hugged me.
The sudden skin-to-skin contact sent a shiver down my spine.
"Bullshit," I yelled, "Get lost! I'm not going to be a mistress!"
“Of course you’re not,” he whispered gently in my ear. “Just think of me as a fish in your pond.”
"Get out of here!" I snapped, exasperated. "I can't afford to keep any fish!"
“You don’t need to raise them,” he said, pressing his whole body against me, wrapping his arms around my neck, almost face to face. “I’ll bring my own food and even help you raise the fish.”
"What nonsense are you spouting?" I laughed in exasperation. "Get out of here!"
“I’m serious,” he said, his face full of grievance, his deep blue eyes gleaming. “I really don’t need you to raise me. You can just put me in the fishpond.”
I got annoyed and tried with all my might to push him away, but I only managed to push him away a little bit.
His burning hot chest was still pressed against my face, and the sweltering heat made me feel dizzy.
"It's too hot here, I'm feeling a little dizzy," I said, turning my face away, not daring to look at him. "Help me upstairs."
He frowned and looked at me for a while, then suddenly picked me up and carried me up the steps, dripping wet, leaving water stains wherever he went.
The maids were gone. He picked up the thin silk robe that was on the soft bed with one hand and carefully put me down with the other.
His long arm, tattooed with a ferocious unicorn, gently slid across my shoulder as he helped me put on a robe and fastened it with pearl and silver buttons.
I walked outside barefoot. Although it was an open-air hot spring pool, I felt extremely hot and restless, with steam rising everywhere, making my whole body feel burning hot.
He put on a silver-blue robe as he walked, staying close behind me.
As we entered the enclosed corridor, he picked me up again, suddenly from behind.
“You’re not wearing shoes,” he whispered, biting my earlobe. “I was afraid you’d slip.”
“I don’t need your kindness,” I said through gritted teeth, “put me down.”
"That won't do. What if you slip and fall? I'm worried you'll have a lot of bleeding."
"I told you it's none of your business." I pushed him away, annoyed to no end.
He ignored me and continued carrying me until we entered my room, where he finally placed me on the soft sofa chair.
“You need to wear those flat shoes,” he said, holding my warm feet. “Let me see how big your feet are, and I’ll have someone make you a pair.”
I kicked him away. "Mind your own business! Don't I even have a pair of shoes?"
He grabbed my foot again, placed it in his palm, and refused to let go.
"Times have changed. I'm afraid you'll get hurt." His blue eyes shone with an extremely gentle light.
I laughed and tried to kick him away, but I couldn't; he still held my foot tightly.
"It's not your child," I said with a laugh, "Why are you so nervous?!"
"I'm worried about you; I don't want you to get hurt in any way."
"Whether I get hurt or not is none of your business!"
“You know why,” he suddenly pulled me into his arms, “everyone knows why, only you are asking.”
I pushed and bit him, but he didn't budge, still holding me and refusing to let go.
“Your first child wasn’t mine, but the second one definitely will.” He held me tightly, kissing my hair, his burning lips moving to my lips.
Suddenly, without warning, he kissed me.
He kissed me, tenderly yet passionately, so naturally, as fiercely as a storm, and I immediately went mad.
We both collapsed onto the sofa chairs, then slid off onto the carpet.
His lips remained pressed tightly against mine, the fiery sensation of their touch sending electric currents through my entire body, from my toes to my thighs, to my waist, to my chest—every part of me was tinged with this fervor, and my heart beat faster and faster.
I couldn't help but kiss him passionately, pinning him beneath me, kissing his lips wildly, my hands running through his long silver hair. My breath washed over his face, and his breath met mine; we held each other tightly, like conjoined twins, inseparable for even a moment.
At the crucial moment, I stopped.
I let go of him, sat back on the sofa, and tidied my long, disheveled hair. He sat back down beside me, looking extremely aggrieved. His long, strong, tattooed arms wrapped around my waist, and he kissed my hair again.
“Almost,” he looked at me innocently, “I almost… ejaculated.”
“Go find someone else,” I said. “I only play with you when I feel like it.”
"I enjoy playing with you." His smile was extremely ambiguous.
"I don't want to play with you anymore." I stood up, put on my fluffy slippers, and prepared to go to the study.
He blocked my way, his eerie blue eyes gleaming so brightly they almost burned me. I couldn't help but stop in my tracks.
"I want to talk to you." His beautiful voice, though calm, carried a burning passion.
"What are you talking about?! I'm busy."
“I’m very busy too, but I still want to talk to you.”
"What are you talking about?!"
His deep, ocean-blue eyes pierced through my eyes and lips, as if kissing my soul.
I could only stare at him blankly.
Perhaps there's also a touch of foolishness.
Some people have such charm that when they gaze intently at you, you suddenly find yourself becoming a child again.
"What do you want to say?" I finally came to my senses and turned to leave, but he hugged me from behind, his long, hot, tattooed arms tightly encircling my waist.
“I’ve never made any promises to you, nor have I ever given you anything, so how can I say anything to you about your pregnancy?” He was still holding me tightly from behind.
"So you knew all along," I said with a faint smile. "We've never had any relationship."
"So, from now on, we're related, okay?"
“I’m just playing around with you,” I said, turning to look at him. “Don’t take it too seriously.”
"I feel sorry for you. I was shocked to learn that my mistress had imprisoned you for four years. My first thought was to find you, but you were with the Elf King. I was afraid he would hide you so well that I wouldn't be able to find you, so I had to give up trying to win you over at sea. The elves are very good at hiding people and things. The Elf Secret Realm is a hiding place they found, and most people can't find it."
“I didn’t want you to hide again, to disappear again, and for me to not see you for years again. I had no choice but to let you go with him. At least, I knew where you were. After that, I kept looking for a chance to rescue you…”
“Don’t talk about saving me,” I interrupted him. “I don’t need you to save me.”
I have always saved myself, both in the past and now.
His eyes were like a fire burning in the dark night. "Why didn't you come to find me when you arrived in the Eastern Territory?"
"Why should I look for you?!" I get annoyed as soon as the topic comes up. "Who are you to me? Why would I come looking for you?"
He told me a long time ago that he would never beg me like this again, and that if I didn't agree, he would give up on me. We had reached an agreement.
"Do you expect me to beg you, beg you to take me in, beg you to help me, beg you to give me some money?" I said coldly. "I'm sorry to disappoint you. When I was robbed of all my valuables and penniless, I never thought of coming to you. I don't want to wag my tail and beg like a dog."
“You don’t need to beg me,” the fire in his blue eyes burned even brighter, “as long as you appear before me, I will give everything for you.”
I burst into laughter, unable to stop. "Don't joke around. Give me everything? Give me what? Power and money? Right, so what if you have money and power? I can only see them, not touch them, I've never taken a single penny from you."
His voice softened, so soft it seemed to melt water, "Then, please tell me, what can I do for you now?"
"I don't need it!" I snapped, shaking off his tattooed arm that had been wrapped around my waist. "I don't need anything!"
He seemed startled for a moment, and then fell silent.
A gentle spring breeze brushed past my ears, carrying a warm temperature.
“Yoli of the Eastern Yord family stepped down from his position as Minister of Procurement half a month ago and has taken over the family’s internal affairs.” In the magnificent and tidy imperial study, Di Yaruo sat at the table, reviewing official documents, and said to me, “This means that Yoli has stepped down from the center of power and lost the favor of his adoptive father, Abdul.”
"Was Yoli dismissed because of the East-West Spice Contract?" I sat opposite Di Yaruo, watching her pen fly down line after line.
“Yes, he didn’t complete the mission successfully. The Western Territory signed with the Southern Territory instead, and the Eastern Territory suffered heavy losses. Naturally, he had to step down.” After finishing one document, Di Yaruo opened another. “But when he stepped down, someone else took his place. The one who took his place was the former finance minister, who is said to be the older cousin of Bern, a former subordinate of Bernot, and has a fairly good relationship with Bernot.”
"So, this is why you're now going to such lengths to win over Bernard?" I asked coldly, "even to the point of letting him into the Queen's bathing area?"
“Oh, what did you say?” Diyaqi laughed, tossing the pen aside and taking a sip of hot tea. “How was I supposed to know he’d come into your hot spring? I heard that some of his men are like wolves and tigers; they yelled at your maids a few times, and they ran away in fright.”
“You should give me some guards,” I said coldly.
"Yes, yes, we should assign you some guards."
But even if I gave it to him, it was no use. From that day on, Bernard continued to pester me like a leech.
He often appeared while I was eating, taking walks, reading, or organizing documents. As for bathing, I told the maid at the door to tell him that if he dared to barge in while I was bathing, I would never bathe again and would stink him to death. This almost childish threat left the maid both amused and exasperated, but after relaying the message to Bernard, Bernard actually didn't come in.
I remember he was a bit of a germaphobe and couldn't stand dirt, mess, or smell.
I wonder how he put up with me going down into the latrines again and again to search for zombie secrets.
