Chapter 65 The Banquet Incident "Perhaps you haven't fallen in love with me," he suddenly said...
During the joyous banquet, Princess Yani and I sat on the same bench, embracing and kissing each other—to become Princess Yani's mistress, one must first kiss her.
But I pretended to kiss Princess Yanni's lips; I actually touched her chin.
Mamboa, the observer, wasn't angry; in fact, she seemed quite interested in watching us "kiss."
Two "beautiful snakes" surrounded Manberia, their soft, boneless bodies coiling around his neck and in his arms like snakes.
Su Luo was reportedly still recovering from a cold, so she was unable to attend.
After kissing for a while, I felt extremely embarrassed.
Princess Yanni, however, was quite into her role. After releasing me, she licked her tongue at Mamboa, smiled sweetly, and flaunted her charm.
Manberia responded with a very polite smile.
I subtly turned around, pretending to go get a glass of ice water.
They weren't fighting over mistresses; they were fighting over who would be the victor.
I felt a tightness in my chest, and drinking some ice water made me feel a little better.
After a while, while the others were toasting Princess Yani and Manboa, I slipped out of the banquet hall.
The air outside was much better; because it was a mountaintop, the breeze was very refreshing, and my stuffy chest finally felt relieved.
But just as I took two breaths, the snow in the sky suddenly became even heavier, and the wind became even stronger.
I quickly tried to walk back into the hall.
The cold wind howled, blowing my long hair and passing through my body, making my thin dress seem as if it didn't exist.
"Achoo!" I sneezed as I ran into the corridor. The red night sky, shrouded in dense snowflakes, whipped up an incredibly cold wind that nearly blew me away. I would have been blown away if I hadn't grabbed onto a round pillar.
Suddenly, a black carriage appeared in the night sky. It cut through the heavy snow and brought with it a fierce wind, heading straight for the palace on the mountaintop. The carriage's several white winged horses flapped their huge wings, creating an immense, icy wind. With each flap, I was swept up, and my grip on the pillars loosened, almost giving way.
Just as the black carriage was about to land in the other direction of the palace and the gale was about to pass, I breathed a sigh of relief. But then it suddenly turned and headed towards the courtyard where I was.
A tremendous, icy wind swept through my body, filling my ears with its howling sound. I felt as if I had been swept into a world of ice and snow.
Just as my hands could no longer hold onto the pillar and I suddenly let go, the sound of the wind suddenly stopped.
I breathed a heavy sigh of relief, standing still, frozen stiff.
Suddenly, he sensed something amiss behind him, but was unable to turn around.
Suddenly, a warm feeling spread through my body as a fiery red fox fur cloak descended from the sky, enveloping my frozen body.
A stunningly beautiful face appeared before me, and countless snowflakes fell from his clear, icy blue eyes, captivating me beyond compare.
I could hardly believe my eyes.
How could this be? How could it be Bernard?
The white snowflakes covered his long, shimmering silver hair, and his eyes were dazzlingly beautiful beyond imagination.
"You..." I still couldn't quite believe it.
"What do you mean, 'you'?" He seemed to be smiling, but the smile on his lips was very faint, almost invisible.
I wanted to escape, but my frozen body prevented me from moving.
He suddenly picked me up around the waist and said, “I didn’t believe it when I received the secret report. I thought it was nearby, so I came to see for myself. It really is you.”
I'm speechless with grief. How close are we? Well, that was a long time ago.
"Why haven't you contacted me?" he asked. "Have you forgotten me?"
He increased his strength, causing my arms to ache slightly.
"Yes, I've almost forgotten," I replied, forcing myself to answer.
He suddenly burst into laughter, "I was too good to you before, which is why you now completely disregard me."
I tried to soften my tone, "We've only known each other..."
I had never promised him anything before, nor had I ever had any relationship with him.
"So what do you think our relationship is?" His icy blue eyes sparkled.
Looking at his seemingly radiant and stunningly beautiful features, I felt dizzy for about five seconds.
I had some difficulty breathing. "It's... okay."
"No?" he asked in return.
"without."
He didn't respond, but his eyes were full of mockery.
I was struggling to stay afloat and tried to leave, but his arms were holding me down tightly.
I had a strange feeling—like a huge pie falling from the sky and landing on me—this handsome man really had feelings for me.
It's true.
How is that possible?
I was carried by Bernard into the bustling banquet hall. Princess Yanni and Mamboa had obviously received the news beforehand, and they showed no expression when they saw us.
The guests, however, wore strange expressions as they drank and made merry.
"I'm not seeing things? She's with Prince Bernard?"
"She actually managed to win over three princes and princesses at the same time?!"
People marveled at it.
Princess Yanni, along with Mamboa and some unfamiliar dignitaries, raised their wine glasses and came over—or rather, came over to him—Bernot, forming a circle around him.
Even the usually proud Princess Yani managed to link arms with him, laughing heartily.
Once my body warmed up, he put me down. At first, I stood next to him, but later I was naturally pushed out of his circle.
I was trying to slip out of the banquet hall when three or four beautiful maids appeared out of nowhere and surrounded me.
“Prince Bernard is quite busy right now,” the tallest maid said with a slight smile. “Please rest over there for a while.”
"I want to go back to my room to rest..." Before I could even finish the word "rest," I was almost forcefully ushered by the maids to an empty table and sat down.
Bernard was still surrounded by dignitaries who toasted and chatted with him, and their gazes would occasionally drift towards me.
I pretended not to see it, picked up my juice glass, and drank glass after glass, pretending to be thirsty.
Occasionally, my eyes would meet those of Princess Yanni or Mamboa. Princess Yanni would look at me with a hint of mockery, while Mamboa would wink at me.
I was stunned for a moment.
After the banquet ended, Bernard was about to take me away. Just as we stepped out of the exquisitely patterned gate, Princess Yanni suddenly blocked our way, smiled slightly, and said, "Bernard, Lana is now my chief mistress."

Author's Note: Sorry for the long delay in updating. I've been experiencing writer's block lately. I feel like I'm currently in a creative slump, which is really frustrating. Perhaps three or four years is a critical period, and the inability to break through it is making writing difficult. I really hope I can overcome this soon.
