Xu Jingxing was like an old mother, worrying about this and that.

A sly glint flashed in Xiao Qifeng's handsome eyes; he was using these words to demonstrate his determination and sincerity.
Lu Wanzheng put the potato on the ground, patted its bottom, straightened up, and prepared to speak to Xu Jingxing.
