Lu Wanzheng scrolled through the pictures in her email. There was a photo of Zhao Ping meeting with a stranger, whom Lu Wanzheng recognized as the hit-and-run driver. There was also a record of Wang Kun transferring money to an account, along with a document. The owner of this bank account was the hit-and-run driver.
Later on, there was even an audio recording. She clicked on the audio and listened to the whole process quietly.
She sneered inwardly. This was the person who had taken care of her for ten years, the person who would risk his life for profit.
She calmly copied these things and gave them to Xu Jingxing. What Wang Kun cared about most was his company and his current life of luxury.
Then she would shatter his dreams, make him lose the things he valued most, and make him pay the price for what he did back then. As for Zhao Ping, she wouldn't let either of them go. She would watch them both go to prison.
Xu Jingxing called Lu Wanzheng immediately after receiving her message.
"Wanzheng, where did you get all these things?" Xu Jingxing was equally furious after seeing these things, and he could hardly contain his anger. He knew that what happened back then must be related to the Wang family. He never expected that Wang Kun would be so heartless and crazy as to have personally planned this.
Lu Wanzheng said in a cold voice, "I've been hiring a private investigator to help with the investigation, and now we finally have results. Lao Xu, I don't want that scumbag and that woman to have a good time. We're going to take back Mom's company."
The word "father" was too foreign to her; she felt that this scumbag didn't deserve it.
Xu Jingxing sensed the hatred in Lu Wanzheng's words. "Don't worry, your uncle will take care of all these things for you. I won't let that scumbag or that woman get away with it. They will both pay the price for what they did in the past."
"Old Xu, I'm handing over my company to you from now on. I hope you can lead it back to its former glory, or even higher."
She didn't want the company Lu Qianyu had built to be destroyed by that scumbag couple from the Wang family, and she didn't want to ruin her mother's hard work.
Xu Jingxing stared at the computer screen, looking at the contents. When he thought that this was the company his sister had founded, the cold aura around him subsided. "This is my sister's company. You should take over. You are her heir."
Just as Lu Wanzheng was about to say something, she heard the door open. She turned her head and saw a man wearing a black overcoat and a sharp suit walking into the room.
When Xiao Qifeng entered the room, he saw Lu Wanzheng sitting cross-legged on the bed, holding a cell phone in her hand. He didn't know who she was talking to, but judging from her expression, she was probably talking about something not good.
He took off his coat and threw it on the sofa. He walked up to Lu Wanzheng, bent down and smoothed her brows, his eyes gentle and his movements almost slow.
His dark yet tender eyes were like obsidian, deeply attracting Lu Wanzheng and almost making her fall into their depths.
"Wanzheng?" Xu Jingxing hadn't heard Lu Wanzheng's voice for a while, so he immediately called out to remind her.
Xiao Qifeng heard a man's voice coming from Lu Wanzheng's phone. He couldn't make it out clearly and couldn't identify who it was, but he was sure it was a man.
He frowned subconsciously.
Lu Wanzheng snapped out of her daze under the combined influence of what she heard and saw.
She used her free hand to grasp Xiao Qifeng's hand that was stroking her forehead, and said to Xu Jingxing, "I'm still working for someone else's company right now, and I'm so busy, how could I have time to manage an entertainment company? Besides, I have no talent for business. If it were really given to me, I guess I could only use it as part of my dowry and let Mr. Xiao manage it for me."
When Xiao Qifeng heard Lu Wanzheng and the person on the phone say this, his mood immediately brightened. A dowry? That sounds good.
Xu Jingxing hesitated for a moment, then immediately objected, "No, Wang's Entertainment is in such a slump right now, it's too embarrassing to use it as a dowry. I'll prepare a generous dowry for you later, so you won't be bullied by the Xiao family when you take it with you. I'll take care of Wang's Entertainment for you, but the name doesn't sound good. What should we change it to after I get it back?"
Although Lu Wanzheng didn't understand why her mother's company was called Wang's Entertainment, now that she thought about it, the name was indeed not good. Now that it was back in their hands, the name naturally had to be changed. As for what to change it to, she hadn't decided yet.
Both sides remained silent for a long time before Lu Wanzheng spoke first, "How about we use Mom's name? This is Mom's company, and it would be a way to legitimize the company and tell everyone that the Wang family is nothing but thieves who stole other people's things and still lived a wealthy life."
Xu Jingxing thought it was a good idea, "Then let's call it Qianyu Entertainment. The day Wang Kun and Zhao Ping were arrested will be the day we take back the company and change its name, and it will also be the day they are condemned by the world."
After the uncle and nephew reached an agreement, Xu Jingxing hung up the phone. He needed to make follow-up arrangements; in less than a week, Wang Kun and Zhao Ping would be sent to jail!
Once he's in prison, his days probably won't be easy.
Before putting her phone down, Lu Wanzheng checked the time. It was only a little past six o'clock. Excluding the time it took to get here from the company, it was only a little later than usual when she got off work.
"Didn't you say you'd be back late tonight? Why are you back so early?"
Xiao Qifeng gently pinched Lu Wanzheng's cheek, "I missed you, so I came back earlier."
“Seriously,” Lu Wanzheng rolled her eyes at him, annoyed. He just liked teasing her all the time.
Xiao Qifeng: "I finished all my work ahead of schedule so I could see you sooner, and I'm really tired. So, could I invite you to have dinner with me?"
"I'd be happy to." She was hungry, and what was supposed to be a dinner for one had turned into a dinner for two, so she was overjoyed.
Lu Wanzheng's worries about the Wang family had vanished. Seeing that her mood had improved, Xiao Qifeng asked, "Who were you talking to on the phone just now?"
"Old Xu."
"oh."
He didn't press further, leaving Lu Wanzheng some space of her own.
Xiao Qifeng pulled Lu Wanzheng out of bed, found her a coat to wear, and then picked up the coat he had just casually tossed on the sofa, shook it, and put it on.
Before leaving, Lu Wanzheng straightened Xiao Qifeng's coat and turned his collar up.
Lu Wanzheng composed herself and, led by Xiao Qifeng, left the room. In order to eat as soon as possible, the two went to the hotel restaurant instead of looking for a restaurant outside.
