Xiaohua recounted everything in detail, from childhood to adulthood, from initial liking to later feeling utterly out of reach.
Her family background prevented her from developing her own interests and hobbies from a young age, but she doesn't blame her parents. They have already worked hard enough to raise her and her younger brother, and these interests and hobbies would only become a burden for them.
Lu Wanzheng stopped, her expression serious, and asked, "Do you still enjoy photography?"
Because Lu Wanzheng stopped, Xiaohua also stopped and looked up at Lu Wanzheng.
The corridor was very quiet at that moment.
Although it was daytime, the corridor was still lit. Looking towards her, Lu Wanzheng was backlit, and shadows fell on her. She couldn't see Lu Wanzheng's expression, but she heard a clear, melodious voice, like a spring and a zither, asking her a question.
A voice kept clamoring in her mind.
I like it!
You like it!
The voice occupied her mind; it emanated from the depths of her brain, from her most subconscious.
Finally, Xiaohua stared intently at Lu Wanzheng, and although she couldn't see Lu Wanzheng's expression, she blurted out, "I like it! I like photography!"
Lu Wanzheng nodded, lifted her leg and walked forward, tossing out a casual remark, "Since you like it, then go for it. You and your brother are basically financially secure now, so why not use your monthly salary to save up for a camera? I don't think the salary I give you is insufficient to accomplish this."
Aside from her brother's daily expenses, Xiaohua has been filming with her for the past few months, using public funds. So, after deducting her brother's monthly living expenses and their daily expenses, they should be able to save about four or five thousand yuan a month.
After a few months of saving, she should have enough to buy a pretty good camera.
"Let's buy a camera first. As for the money for other accessories, you can save up slowly. Once you have a camera, you can start practicing taking pictures. When your skills become more proficient, with the help of good equipment, you will definitely succeed one day."
"Will Cookie's place in my heart be shaken?" Because Cookie is more like the person she imagined herself to be, but now that she has a goal, all fantasies should be discarded, and she should be the real her and move towards her goal. Xiaohua is still a little confused.
Lu Wanzheng didn't turn around and continued walking forward. "This is not contradictory. Cookie is a senior in the photography industry. You can learn from her, look up to her, and take her as your role model and goal. Maybe one day, you can be as excellent as her."
As Yao Zijun listened to Lu Wanzheng's words of encouragement to Xiaohua, she smiled with satisfaction and silently wished that Xiaohua's wish would come true.
The three of them arrived at the front of the studio, where the staff had already prepared most of the props.
Yi Xuan caught a glimpse of a red figure out of the corner of his eye and immediately turned his head to look over.
A woman in a cheongsam stood not far away, her figure graceful and her waist so slender it could be grasped in one hand, making me momentarily dazed.
He snapped out of his daze and immediately stepped forward. "Miss Lu, everything's ready here. Let me take you to meet Cookie first." He pointed to the woman in punk attire standing not far to his left.
Lu Wanzheng nodded and followed Yi Xuan toward the place he had just pointed out.
“Cookie,” Yi Xuan called out to the woman dressed in punk clothes who had her back to them.
His voice wasn't too loud, enough for Cookie to hear without disturbing other people who were working.
