All of this happened right next to Lu Wanzheng, within arm's reach.
The waitress was bumped by a child, and her hand accidentally touched the side of the bowl. Her warm hand immediately touched the hot bowl, and she instinctively pulled away.
So, she lost her grip on the scalding hot soup and splashed it straight towards the boy.
Lu Wanzheng shouted, "Watch out!"
He reached out and pulled the little boy towards him.
Inevitably, her hands were splashed with hot soup.
"Hiss." Lu Wanzheng gasped as she was burned.
Xiao Hua: "Sister Wan Zheng!"
Yao Zijun: "Wan Zheng!"
The two spoke in unison.
Lu Wanzheng shook her head at the two of them, indicating that she was fine.
She checked the little boy and asked with concern, "Are you alright? Did you get burned?"
The little boy was probably frightened; he stood there stunned and didn't dare to speak.
"Let me check if my sister has been burned."
After a careful check, Lu Wanzheng was relieved to find that the little boy was not injured.
"Sister Wanzheng, don't worry about others, you've burned yourself." Xiaohua saw that Lu Wanzheng's hand was covered in red marks, which was alarming to see.
The waiter standing nearby was stunned by the bump and didn't come to his senses for a moment.
Oh no, she seems to have done something wrong. Will she get fired?
"Don't just stand there, go get the burn ointment." The manager's voice came from behind the waiter.
The waiter then came to his senses, quickly apologized to Lu Wanzheng, and hurried to the staff break room to get the first-aid kit.
The store manager hurriedly went to Lu Wanzheng's side and apologized to her, "I'm sorry, Miss, our staff's negligence caused you to get hurt. As compensation, this meal will be on the house."
Lu Wanzheng waved her hand, "It's alright, the employee didn't do it on purpose, and I didn't mean to blame them. Let's check on the child and ask whose child he is."
The waiter rushed over with a first-aid kit and heard what Lu Wanzheng said. He was grateful that the customer hadn't blamed her and had even spoken up for her.
She took out some cooling burn ointment from the medicine box and prepared to apply it to Lu Wanzheng.
"It's alright, you go ahead and do your work. I can apply this medicine myself."
Lu Wanzheng took the medicine from the waitress and urged her to go to work and not let her delay her work.
The waiter looked at the manager, and after receiving the manager's permission, left.
"Good child, do you feel any pain anywhere in your body? If it hurts, be sure to tell your sister."
After such a long period of time, the little boy had come to his senses, but he seemed to know that he had done something wrong, and he didn't dare to look at Lu Wanzheng.
He simply shook his head, looking around with innocent eyes.
"Xiaoyu," a middle-aged woman said, helping an elderly man hurriedly out of a private room.
Judging from her attire, the middle-aged woman is likely the family's nanny.
When the little boy saw someone familiar, he rushed towards the old man and hugged his legs tightly.
"Don't be afraid."
The store manager went up to the elderly man, spoke with him for a few minutes, and explained the truth of the matter.
The old man first apologized to the store manager for disturbing their work, and then walked shakily toward Lu Wanzheng.
Upon seeing this, Lu Wanzheng quickly stood up and went forward to help the elderly man.
"Girl, thank you. If it weren't for you, I don't know what would have happened to my silly grandson." The old man held Lu Wanzheng's injured hand.
Seeing his swollen and red hands, the old man thanked him repeatedly.
