Chapter 237 My Boyfriend's First Time Cooking (Part 1)

"Remember to think carefully about what we should do tonight when we get back. Remember that I'm cooking tonight, and send me a message when you get home..." Xiao Qifeng nagged Lu Wanzheng with many things.

Lu Wanzheng smiled helplessly, "Mr. Xiao, I'm not a child anymore. I've remembered all of this. You don't need to remind me so many times."

“If you want, I can spoil you like a child,” Xiao Qifeng stared at Lu Wanzheng, his eyes deep and unfathomable, “I’m afraid you’ll forget all your business when you get home.”

Just as Lu Wanzheng was about to continue arguing that she wouldn't forget, she was interrupted by the piercing sound of a horn. It wasn't rush hour, and the roads weren't congested. The car she hailed stopped in front of them.

Xiao Qifeng patted Lu Wanzheng's head and finally reminded her, "Don't forget."

Lu Wanzheng: "I understand."

She was just about to walk to the car when Xiao Qifeng got there faster, opened the back door first, grabbed the door handle with one hand and braced the other against the top of the door.

Only after watching the car drive away did Xiao Qifeng turn back to the company. The gentlemanly gentleness on his face vanished instantly, replaced by his former aloofness. He walked to the lobby, coldly surveyed his surroundings, leaving an intimidating impression, and then took the elevator back to his office.

Lu Wanzheng returned home, threw the clothes from the laundry basket into the sink, poured in fragrant laundry detergent, soaked them for fifteen minutes, scrubbed them with a brush, and then threw them into the washing machine.

I was busy cooking in the morning and spent the whole afternoon at the company, which is why I haven't washed my clothes yet.

We don't have a nanny at home, and during this period of vacation, she has been very happy to do the housework.

After washing the clothes, she went to the kitchen to prepare soup. Since making soup takes a long time, she decided to do it.

She washed and cut the ribs, which she had taken out to thaw at noon, into small pieces. She put the scallions, ginger, and bones into a clay pot, poured in cold water and cooking wine, and brought it to a boil. After about ten minutes, she took out the scallions and ginger, skimmed off the white foam on the surface of the water, and the meat and bones that had been covered by the foam seemed to be revealed after the clouds were cleared. The color of the meat was no longer pink. She then simmered it over low heat.

While she was at it, she washed the white radish, peeled it, and cut it into chunks.

Estimating that it would take about the right amount of time, she opened the pot lid, threw in the chunks of radish, added salt to taste, and continued to simmer.

With nothing else to do, Lu Wanzheng started preparing the dishes for tonight so that she could start cooking as soon as Xiao Qifeng returned.

As night fell, Xiao Qifeng opened the door and entered the house. He saw Lu Wanzheng bustling about in the kitchen. Since Lu Wanzheng moved in, he felt that the lifeless house had suddenly come alive, and he no longer felt empty and lonely when he came home.

He gently placed the things he was carrying on the dining table, then wrapped his arms around Lu Wanzheng's waist from behind, saying, "Didn't I say I'd cook?" He pressed his head close to hers.

Lu Wanzheng heard him return, but not the sound of him approaching. "Why do you walk so quietly? You suddenly hugged me and scared me to death."

"I won't do it again next time." Upon hearing Lu Wanzheng's words, Xiao Qifeng immediately promised.

"I'm not cooking, I'm preparing the ingredients. Quickly tie on your apron and see which one you want to make first." She pointed to the vegetables that had already been washed, chopped, and arranged on a plate.

Xiao Qifeng tightened his arms, took a deep breath, and the girl's fragrance entered his nostrils.
