Chapter 28 Gold Power

The first thing Qin Jie and Zou Ranran did after getting the script was to mark Chen Mo's parents' lines and some scenes separately.

This is a big project, and it takes a lot of time just to mark these things, so the two of them only did a small part of it, and will do the rest when they are free tomorrow.

The roles that the two helped to play were Chen Mo's parents in the script.

Chen Mo's parents are Chen Yue and Liu Se.

Chen Yue is a man of chauvinistic character who likes to attack others to highlight his sense of superiority.

Chen Mo's mother has a very hot temper. She gets angry almost at the slightest thing in life that doesn't go her way.

If these were the only shortcomings, Chen Mo could still tolerate them, but...

From the time she could remember, no matter what she wanted to do, the response from her family was:

Why do you want to learn painting? Painting costs a lot of money. If you can't learn it well, don't learn it. It's useless.

When he was a child, Chen Mo would argue for himself: You don’t let me learn, so how do you know that I can’t learn it and that it’s useless to learn it?

But Chen Yue and Liu Se always find a thousand reasons to oppose, and even undermine Chen Mo's self-confidence.

Chen Mo felt aggrieved at first and asked her parents if they didn't love her.

They answered firmly that they loved her.

While they talked about love, they also attacked her self-confidence. Whenever she proposed to do something, they would return to their old ways and repeat the same words over and over again.

There was never a word of encouragement for Chen Mo.

Gradually, Chen Mo was influenced by them. Every time she had an idea in her mind, her subconscious reaction was that she could not do it and she could not do it well.

When she realized that her mentality was not good and she needed to make changes, she was overwhelmed by her parents' verbal attacks before she had the chance to change, let alone communicate with them.

Later, Chen Mo became more and more silent and depressed, and he would lock himself in his room every day after school.

Faced with her parents' questioning, she could not say a word and just responded in silence.

In fact, Chen Mo also shared her life in school with her parents at the beginning, but Chen Yue and Liu Se were always very double-standard. They were very tolerant of others, but when Chen Mo encountered such problems, they always asked Chen Mo to look for the problem in himself.

Later, Chen Mo learned to remain silent and keep everything in his heart.

The two of them blamed Chen Mo for not telling them anything and just wearing headphones and listening to his Walkman all day.

For Chen Mo, the Walkman is the only safe haven that allows her to breathe a sigh of relief and avoid having to listen to the endless abuse and attacks.

Singing can make her immerse herself in this small world and isolate herself from everything else outside.

Sometimes she would be doing her homework at home, taking out the trash and drying the clothes as her mother asked, but Liu Se would still scold her without giving any explanation when he came home from get off work.

Otherwise, you can let her learn from her colleague's daughter, who is young but knows everything and always ranks among the top students.

If Chen Mo had focused his attention on studying instead of listening to music, he might have been able to get first place in the grade.

Or maybe someone's kid is really good at drawing and won some award in a city competition.

Liu Se had no idea that when she was little, she had said she wanted to learn painting, but they rejected her idea without even letting her try.

These are just the tip of the iceberg in Chen Mo's life.

It's never the straw that breaks the camel's back.

But when a relative's child came to play at their house and broke Chen Mo's Walkman, Chen Mo grabbed the child tightly with tears in his eyes and casually said, "It's just a Walkman, isn't it? Dad will buy you one tomorrow."

Chen Mo waited until tomorrow, but still didn't get the Walkman that her father promised to buy her.

After further questioning, Chen Yue adopted a conciliatory attitude and just said that the child was still young and not to bother with him. He did not mention buying her a new Walkman later.

She also wanted to study liberal arts, but her parents secretly called the class teacher to change her major to science.

Or when they secretly changed her choice of major.

Or maybe they were doing it for her own good and strongly demanded that she stop playing with Gu Jiaoyang, even going so far as to order her to transfer schools.

In fact, Chen Mo really wanted to say that she was no longer a child and had the ability to distinguish right from wrong, but her parents did not listen and only wanted her to live according to their ideas, like a puppet.

Later, she used the pocket money she had saved for a long time to buy a Walkman. On the eve of the college entrance examination, Chen Mo wore headphones and listened to music while reviewing key points.

But when she woke up on the morning of the college entrance examination, she found that she could not find her Walkman. Chen Mo searched every corner of the room but could not find it. After repeated inquiries, Liu Se saw that she was about to miss the college entrance examination, so she said with an unnatural expression that she had thrown it away with the garbage in the morning.

The reason was that she didn't want material possessions to disturb her college entrance examination.

Chen Mo searched through all the trash cans downstairs in the community before she found the little world where she could feel at peace and not be disturbed by outsiders.

But she found that her little world was broken, as if it had been hammered by something.

After Chen Yue and Liu Se arrived, they didn't look unnatural at all and urged her to go to the examination room quickly, otherwise she would miss the time.

Chen Mo didn't cry, nor did he respond to them. He just picked up the fragments bit by bit.

Chen Yue felt that she was really ignorant. The college entrance examination was such an important day, but she was here rummaging through the trash can?

A big hand pulled her up from the ground, and the fragments of the walkman in Chen Mo's hand were scattered all over the ground without warning. The world she tried hard to piece together was destroyed again.

Chen Mo was silent. She asked Chen Yue to say sorry to her.

Chen Yue instead scolded her: "What are you crazy about?"

In the end, Chen Mo said nothing. After the college entrance examination, she did not go to see her parents waiting for her outside, but secretly went to an abandoned tube building.

She finally called Chen Yue and Liu Se, calling them by their names and asking them to say sorry to her, and she would forgive them if they did.

None of them said sorry, only their ugly insults came from the receiver. Chen Mo smiled, as if she felt that her life was a joke, and finally jumped off the roof without any regrets.

When the news of her death came, Chen Yue and Liu Se were heartbroken and found it hard to accept.

Chen Mo actually jumped off the building just because they didn't apologize to her. What's the big deal?

Perhaps in the eyes of outsiders, these are nothing, not a big deal, but only Chen Mo knows how wronged she is.

There is no way to speak out or express these grievances.
