I inexplicably felt that Han Mo was capable of protecting them.
Han Mo protected the three little girls and hid in the dense forest, waiting quietly for the wild elephants to leave.
I don’t know how long it took, but there was no movement in the direction of the base camp for a long time.
Han Mo was about to stand up, but immediately squatted down again and gestured to the three girls to keep quiet.
I heard two people walking not far away.
"I told the village chief that things have been a bit uneasy these days and we need to clean up the mess. I always feel like someone is watching us from the village entrance."
"Those two dolls are so pretty and well-dressed. We really shouldn't have arrested them. They might belong to wealthy families. If we arrest them, we'll get into trouble."
"He just wouldn't listen. Now look what's happening. The whole mountain is full of people looking for those two kids. Maybe the higher-ups will send someone down to take care of them."
"The emperor is far away, what are you afraid of? It's not like there haven't been people from above before, so what's the point of interfering?"
"You're so suspicious, and someone's watching you? I think even if it was a weasel sticking its head out, you'd still treat it as a giant shell."
"Hey, it's better to be safe than sorry. Just because it was okay last time doesn't mean it will be okay in the future."
"You should have listened to me. Even if you caught them and sold them in other provinces, it would be better than killing them right here at home!"
"The village chief has been leading us in this business for so many years and nothing has happened. Please stop nagging me! It's so annoying!"
CC was almost crying with fear, and whispered to Han Mo, "They are human traffickers! They captured the twins!"
Seeing no response, I turned around and found Han Mo was nowhere to be found.
There was nothing behind him, if he hadn't known that the two bad guys were nearby.
CC was so anxious that he almost cried. Now he could only suppress his emotions and whisper to his companions:
"It's bad, Han Mo abandoned us and ran away!"
The three children looked around in shock, but could not see Han Mo and were instantly filled with fear.
The words "Everything will be fine as long as Han Mo is here" were still ringing in CC's ears, and he felt a huge sense of betrayal.
With the human traffickers so close, did Han Mo just abandon her three children?
Is this something a human would do?
They should run away now, CC thought, if the three of them ran together in three different directions.
At least one can get away.
But they had never encountered such a dangerous moment.
My legs were completely weak, and it was difficult to even walk, let alone run.
They could only grit their teeth, close their eyes, and hope that the two people would leave quickly and not discover them.
Contrary to expectations, the two men suddenly stopped talking.
Apparently, they've discovered something and are searching.
You can hear the sticky sound of people stepping on the wet soil, approaching step by step.
The sound of bushes being pushed aside was very close.
A few minutes later.
The muzzles of the two hunting rifles were pointed directly at the faces of the three children.
