"hold head high???"
Han Mo looked at Mr. An in a daze, thinking quickly in her mind.
Seeing her disbelief, the old man smiled and said, "Try to call up that system in your mind and see if there is any reaction."
Han Moru tried as she said, but there was really no response, and even the system screen could not be called up.
Looking at Grandpa An again, his eyes were filled with uncontrollable excitement.
Grandpa An smiled mysteriously, "How about it? Do you believe it now?"
"What is your purpose for calling me here today?"
Grandpa An did not rush to answer Han Mo's question, but continued to ask:
"First, tell me how your system fooled you."
Han Mo organized her words. "At first, he said that as long as I collected the disgust points of all the cute kids, I could be reborn."
"Then, by some strange coincidence, I completely messed up this mission. He went silent for a while, and recently said that if I was willing to give him this body, I could save An Yu and the twins' lives."
"You believe it?"
"I don't."
Grandpa An nodded.
"Not too stupid."
Han Mo was like a drowning person drifting alone on the sea, who suddenly saw a passing cruise ship.
Looking at Grandpa An's eyes, they were bright and full of anticipation.
Grandpa An said, "I've been here for over forty years. Based on my research, I'm afraid we can't go back. No matter who you were in that world, your body has long since been destroyed. How can you be reborn so many times? Is that even scientific?"
"Grandpa, the fact that we've traveled into a book isn't scientific, is it? Is there any need to consider science?"
The old man of the An family scoffed at Han Mo's attitude of seeking knowledge and retorted:
"Why not? I'm a materialist. Based on my judgment over the years, this should be a so-called parallel dimension. The people in this world are real and exist in reality. They are not characters in a book."
"The reason the system knows the so-called plot thread is because they are more advanced than us and can see four-dimensional space-time. Time is a reversible tunnel for them."
"Grandpa, you're not going to tell me that this system was actually developed by the Trisolarans? Is it suddenly so sci-fi?"
"Do you still want to listen? Don't interrupt me~"
Han Mo shut up again.
"Actually, it's pretty much as you said. You can think of them as Trisolarans. They can travel between various parallel dimensions on Earth. Their purpose is probably to control human thoughts and gather certain spiritual powers from Earth."
"For example, your mission is to collect hatred, and there's an age limit. They want the purest hatred."
"My mission back then was to collect greed."
Han Mo didn't know what Grandpa An had been researching over the years. If she just listened to the conclusion, she would be a little confused. She could only try hard to understand.
"As for what they want this hatred for, I'm not sure yet. I just vaguely guess that this kind of mental power is more like a source of energy for them."
"We humans on Earth are like dry batteries to them, and the so-called time travelers are those they have selected for their strong spiritual powers."
"Asking travelers to complete missions is a way to collect a steady supply of spiritual energy."
"If you fail your mission, you can't go back. If you succeed, you're like a discarded dry cell battery. You can't go back either. You'll just be discarded."
"The plot he used to threaten you wasn't a pre-written script at all, but the future he saw."
"Can the future be changed? If An Yu and the twins die according to the plot, he's your grandson, right? Can you save him?"
Grandpa An looked at Han Mo with sharp eyes, "I think it's okay. It's not me who saves him, but you who saves him."
"That system wants to use your love for An Yu to make you give up your body, right?"
"What do you think his purpose is?"
Han Mo followed the old man's train of thought and murmured, "He said he wanted the original owner to come back. If what you said is true, then the original owner can't come back, which means he still has use for my body."
"He wants to find a new host? But if I don't give up this body voluntarily, he can't get it?"
"That's right. They can't directly influence the people and things in this world. They can only control them through people's thoughts."
"Only if you take the initiative and voluntarily give up your body can he bring a new soul."
"Then what should I do? How can I save Anyu and the twins? I don't want them to die."
There was a hint of hesitation in Mr. An's slightly cloudy pupils.
He hesitated for a moment, as if trying to find a suitable explanation.
He slowly spoke, "Some things require you to discover them on your own. You need to find a strong motivation that will keep you in this world no matter what, even when you are in extreme pain."
Han Mo seemed to understand, "Is this how you stayed?"
Mr. An looked at Han Mo with satisfaction, "You are a smart child."
This is the default.
Han Mo asked in confusion: "I like An Yu very much, is this considered a strong motivation?"
Lao An always asked back, "How much do you like him? Are you sure? Do you like him so much that you don't want to be apart even if it hurts so much that you want to die?"
Seeing Han Mo's hesitation, he continued, "I advise you not to harbor any hope. This isn't really a time travel. If you leave this body, you'll die. You only have one chance. An Yu and the twins also only have one chance."
