When I woke up, I saw An Shengxu's small body lying not far away.
Han Mo was so scared at that time that she was most afraid that something would happen to her child.
But when she ran over, she found that An Shengxu was just asleep.
After struggling for a few times, he slowly woke up.
With a confused look on his face, he asked, "Mom, where are we? Where are my brother and dad?"
Han Mo couldn't answer.
The two analyzed the current situation while walking in the desert.
Han Mo felt extremely painful, and her body and mouth were burning, dry, painful and itchy.
It wasn't until the next day that a broken plastic bottle and the piece of plane debris were found in the desert.
There was no clue at all. The only function the mother and son had developed was to condense dew in the early morning when the temperature difference between day and night was large.
On the third day, both of them had not eaten or drunk anything. An Shengxu at least drank a sip of water, but Han Mo did not drink a drop of water. She did not faint or become dehydrated, but just endured the endless pain evenly.
Han Mo then pulled An Shengxu to sit down in the sunset, and tried to choose a relaxed and half-joking tone and said:
"Baby, I think we might be dead."
An Shengxu looked back at Han Mo and replied calmly, "Did you finally find out too?"
"A normal person would be on the verge of death if they didn't drink water for three days. We are in the desert. We should pass out if we don't drink water for a day. But we are still awake now, unless we were not awake in the first place."
Han Mo poked An Shengxu's little head with her finger.
"Why didn't you tell me when you found out?"
An Shengxu rubbed his head. It didn’t hurt, but he was more shy.
"Actually, my analysis suggests that we're not necessarily dead, but more like we're caught between life and death."
"Oh? Why do you think so?"
Han Mo was in so much pain. If An Shengxu hadn't been there, she would have wanted to die yesterday. It was so painful, a pain that was hard to describe in words.
Han Mo suppressed the despair in her throat. She gritted her teeth and dared not say it out loud, for fear of affecting An Shengxu's desire to survive.
If you just wander in the desert like this, neither dead nor alive, it would be better to die.
But now, she can't die, she still has children.
At least she can't die until she finds a way to survive for An Shengxu.
Although An Shengxu was only five years old, he could see Han Mo's determination to die. He was afraid that if he spoke, Han Mo would retreat, so he bit his lip and did not answer.
The two men were in a stalemate in the desert at dusk.
