"Pfft, you jumped in the end?"
"They jumped!"
Mingmei confessed everything to the young man on the other end of the video call.
As Ruan Xun took off her white coat, she poured herself a glass of water and sat in the break room of her office, listening to her niece's reply, which sounded like a confession of her relationship. She lowered her eyes and smiled.
How are you feeling?
Ruan Xun looked up at Mingmei. Just a moment ago, she had a calm expression that said, "Oh, I told you, what can you do about it?" But now she was a little embarrassed and answered with evasive eyes, "He's... he's alright. He's quite strong."
"Pfft~" Ruan Xun almost spat out the tea in her mouth. "You think he's strong just because he caught you?"
"Hmm." No way!
The moment Mingmei jumped down and was caught, the cool fragrance emanating from Mu Chen rushed into her nostrils.
Even though she was already very familiar with that scent, Mingmei was still captivated by its cool, penetrating fragrance every time she got close to the other person.
It was clearly a cool fragrance, but after smelling it for a while, it gave her a feeling that beneath the coldness lay a raging fire that burned her soul. The cool fragrance was alluring, until it led her into the deepest flames and she was completely consumed.
Her face unconsciously flushed as she drifted off into thought...
Seeing that Mingmei had drifted off into thought while they were talking, Ruan Xun didn't rush to speak. He waited until his niece came back to her senses before asking, "Why did you suddenly decide to tell me about this?"
"Could we tell Uncle Yan Hui? He looks like he's connected to Mu Chen..."
Although Mingmei wanted to share this budding feeling, she also knew that it wasn't something she could just tell anyone. "Uncle Ruanruan, this is our secret. You won't just tell anyone, will you?"
"Of course, it won't be a secret if you tell anyone~" Ruan Xu smiled very kindly, a hint of excitement flashing in her eyes at knowing her niece's secret.

He's the most trustworthy uncle ever!
"By the way, I was working myself to death with overtime a while ago, but I'm free now. I'll come see you in a few days?"
"No way, my vacation just ended this month, and I won't be able to leave school for several more weeks." Mingmei pouted as she said this, looking at Ruan Xun and saying, "You're just like Uncle Yan Hui, always so busy. How come you suddenly have free time this time?"
"The project is progressing, so I have some free time now~"
Ruan Xun smiled and rested his chin on his hand, an expression that left Mingmei speechless. She thought to herself that she couldn't afford to offend either of her two uncles.
"However, I do need to rest recently. Work is too tiring. I'm planning to transfer to another position, which happens to be at your school. That will make it much easier to see you in the future."
With a smile, Ruan Xun secretly packed his research materials into his personal storage device in a place where the bright light couldn't see. The device was labeled "The Entity of Silicon-Based Life and Its Reference to the Separation of Spirit."
Upon hearing that Ruan Xun was actually coming to work at their school, Mingmei was taken aback for a moment, then became very happy and said, "That's great! We can see each other often from now on!"
As she spoke, Mingmei couldn't help but yawn.
Why are you so tired? Didn't you sleep well?
"I just finished playing the game before chatting with you. This game lasted almost twelve or thirteen hours."
Mingmei felt a great deal of malice from the length of the game "The Duke's Legacy".
"What game takes this long?" Seeing the slight fear in Mingmei's eyes, he asked again, "I've played almost all the games designed by Yan Hui, none of them have taken this long, right?"
Mingmei glanced at her uncle's understated Versailles-like demeanor, then explained the game, its plot and general direction. After she finished, she saw Ruan Xun suddenly burst out laughing, as if she had heard the funniest joke in the world.
"You guys... it took me two hours to beat the game."
Bright and beautiful: ? ? ? What?!
"How did you do that?"
"Just kill the butler and the other players, especially the butler. However, the character I'm playing doesn't have any players; the other candidates are all NPCs. Replacing them with some really strong players might take a while."
"Uncle, what's your thought process?"
Mingmei couldn't imagine how her uncle could make clearing the game so casually. Mu Chen and the others ended up killing each other, and her uncle knew that from the beginning?
The worst part is that they even killed the butler.
“First of all, there’s a hint about the butler’s favorability with the lunchboxes, right?” Ruan Xun helped Mingmei break down the key points in the game.
"Um."
"Furthermore, I learned from other servants that the butler wields considerable power, even controlling the heir. As the future duke, I will not keep such a person around."
Ruan Xun immediately adopted the mindset of someone in a position of power: "Deciding who the successor is isn't something he can just decide on his own. So, there's no need for him to live anymore. Once he's dead, as long as I ensure there are no competitors, I'll be the one to take over."
Simple, direct, and effective.
"See, aren't they all the same despite different paths?" He already knew that Mingmei and the others had passed the level. "That guy named Mu Chen also killed the butler in the end, right?"
"Hmm... the butler committed suicide. Mu Chen whispered something to him, but I didn't hear it."
Mingmei shook her head. She remembered that in the game's ending, Mu Chen and the butler exchanged a few words, and the butler immediately announced that he was the next duke. After that, the butler committed suicide in the rose field outside the castle.
Upon hearing this, Ruan Xun's eyes flashed, and she said something Mingmei didn't understand: "The steward is actually just a coward too."
"Um?"
"Sweetie, you're still young, you don't understand~" After saying that, Ruan Xun was about to turn off the video call. "Get some rest, see you in a couple of days, goodbye~"
