"Why...do we need to build the toilets first?"
Thanks to the mud material in the game, they didn't need to fire bricks in the kiln every now and then. After drying, the mud bricks felt sturdy and waterproof. When everyone excitedly built their first big house, Mingmei and the others had another idea for the remaining mud bricks - to build a toilet.
"No toilets... Who was scared out of their wits by a snake that suddenly jumped out a couple of days ago, ran away naked without even going back to take care of themselves, and got 2 points deducted from their license?"
After Merita woke up this time, her personality was indeed much better than when Mingmei had met her before. However, Merita was still just as fierce when she needed to be. For example, when she was explaining the benefits of the toilet, she just had to hit a nerve.
The story of Zhen Po running out to take care of something important in the morning and being terrified by a snake falling from a tree, screaming and running naked, made the girls who were washing their faces by the mountain spring outside the cave that morning feel like they were going to go blind.
Among them, Melita, the pampered young lady, thought she had made great progress in this game, but at that moment she was still hit by countless critical hits!
"There are quite a few of these things, and it's not okay to go together, otherwise the bugs and stuff are too scary."
Wang Wenfei felt she should still help Zhen Po salvage her self-esteem a little, so she privately tugged at Merita's arm, telling her to say less.
After all, no one can control this.
"Not to mention snakes, insects, rats, and ants, just the fact that they have to dig a hole every time we do something is really annoying. I'm about to do my thing at the door, and I still have to dig a hole to hold it in!"
"Couldn't you have dug a few in advance?"
"I got it ahead of schedule. I wonder which bastard used it first, and then didn't dig out a new one. What a scoundrel!"
Eating, drinking, and relieving oneself are all major life events, and the fact that relieving oneself always results in points being deducted makes many players agree to build a toilet.
With a toilet, you no longer have to worry about being seen, about snakes or insects attacking you, or about digging a hole every time!
Mu Chen even planted some mosquito-repelling and insect-repelling plants next to the toilet, which also deodorized the toilet. Everyone's goodwill towards Mu Chen kept rising.
"Speaking of which, Mu Chen, why are you faster and better at identifying plants and finding food than others?"
That evening, the group who had returned with Mu Chen after searching for food once again sighed with emotion.
"After eating the boxed lunch, the system prompted me to unlock a certain technology point, right? After that, I seemed to have a different feeling about plants and such."
After Mu Chen answered, he noticed that everyone seemed to be deep in thought. Ming Mei happened to come over and, upon hearing Mu Chen's words, continued, "Each of you has your own talent. Why don't you go and explore it?"
"Having an extra area of expertise increases the chances of everyone surviving and completing the game together."
After eating boxed lunches, everyone practiced their speaking skills to perfection, but it seems there hasn't been much progress in exploring their potential and contributing to the technological advancement of human civilization.
"At this rate, when will this end?"
Looking at the 3000 points they had finally broken through recently, with so much to go, the players handed over their food to the players who stayed behind at the base and began to think about what was different about their meals.
"We only have 60 players here. If there were more, the score would roll over even faster."
At night, Mingmei and Muchen sat at the entrance of the cave, chatting while gazing at the starry sky.
When the conversation turned to housing, she couldn't help but glance at the houses built on the platform not far away. Under the moonlight, the two rows of three-room brick houses looked reassuring.
Although only these have been built so far, two more should be able to be built before winter arrives, provided the weather is good enough and there are enough mud bricks.
"I really hope I can find a few more classmates before it gets cold."
"Hopefully, although I don't know how many players have been eliminated, at least they haven't fallen below the game's limits." Mu Chen nodded. "Yesterday, Zhen Hu told me that his talent points seem to be related to animals."
"Um?"
“Zhen Hu said he noticed that many furry animals seemed to be growing fur, as if in preparation for climate change. Several times when we hunted unicorns, Zhen Hu noticed something unusual when processing the fur, saying that the fur was several times thicker than it was in hot weather.”
"It's going to get so cold later, how did it grow like this?" Mingmei asked worriedly. "Bai Xiao mentioned the heated kang bed earlier... do you know how to build it?"
"I've seen it, but I've never tried it."
Mu Chen's answer was quite honest, as was Bai Xiao's. She had seen it while traveling and found it quite novel at the time, but she didn't know much about it. So when building the house, she specifically asked if anyone knew how to do it.
For those of us living in the interstellar age, the earthen bed... well, nobody really knows how to make one.
"However, the principle behind it shouldn't be too difficult. They've been figuring out what their talents are these days, and who knows, someone might just be able to do it."
Mu Chen gently stroked the back of Mingmei's head to reassure her, and then changed the subject about the heated kang bed.
“I think we can distribute those flyers again. Zhen Hu also observed a lot of animals that migrate with the seasons today. They have been leaving this place one after another recently. This way, they will go to more distant places, and if they carry the ‘flyers’, our publicity scope will be expanded.”
“That’s true. We didn’t restrict where the animals went when we hung them on the animals. But if they live in this area, the range is indeed limited.” Mingmei nodded. “And the river… it would be great if we made good use of it.”
