"Dad, did I scare you just now?"
The pink, dreamy girl was at home. Zhen Hu sat upright in the study chair next to her, only daring to touch half of her bottom. When he suddenly heard Mona speak, he almost cried out when he came to his senses.
How could he have just... inexplicably come knocking on the door with milk!
Zhen Hu recalled that he had just been planning to drink the milk himself so as not to waste it, but somehow he felt like he was drunk and walked over here in a daze. He knocked on Mona's door, which wasn't locked, and walked right in.
God knows how shocked Zhen Hu was when he realized he had walked into Mona's room!
Help!
Could he just turn around and run away?
The answer, naturally, is a simple "Dad!"
Zhen Hu awkwardly handed the milk to Mona, and then breathed a sigh of relief.
Fortunately, the glass of milk was there.
But before he could fully relax, Mona pointed to the chair next to him and told him to sit down.
And so it became like this—feeling like I was sitting on pins and needles, like I had hemorrhoids _(:3」∠)_
"No...did you have a nightmare just now?" Zhen Hu shook his head repeatedly, then cautiously asked the other party what exactly had happened.
I guess so...
Mona didn't explain what she had just done, but went along with Zhen Hu's words and admitted that she had a nightmare.
"Oh, that's alright. Just drink this cup of warm milk and get a good night's sleep."
Zhen Hu nodded perfunctorily, glanced at the other person's empty cup, stood up, took Mona's cup back, and said, "You should lie down and get some sleep. I'm going back now."
"Wait a minute, Daddy," Mona called out again, trying to stop Zhen Hu. "Mona just had a nightmare and can't sleep. Could you read me a storybook for a while?"
Zhen Hu turned his head and looked at Mona, who had already obediently lay down. Her big, watery blue eyes were looking at him, and Zhen Hu did not refuse her.
"So, what story are you going to tell?"
As if resigned, Zhen Hu plopped back into his chair, his eyes fixed on the lace by Mona's bedside, not really wanting to make eye contact with her again.
He wasn't stupid; he gradually figured it out—was his strange behavior earlier because of Mona? (M.cascoo.net)
Having played so many games, Zhen Hu immediately began to avoid Mona's gaze.
Incidentally, he didn't even bother looking at the person's face, and instead focused on counting the number of pleats on the lace trim.
"Here it is on the desk. I've finished reading it, but I don't mind if you read it again, Dad."
Following the direction Mona pointed, Zhen Hu saw a pink book—"A Girl's Unrequited Love".
Wow, so this is the kind of style young girls like?
Zhen Hu took the book, glanced through it, and originally planned to read it to the other person if there were no problems. But he didn't know what he was getting into until he looked at it a few more times, and then he slammed the book shut.
"What's wrong, Dad?"
"This book is not suitable for you to read, and you should never learn from its contents."
Zhen Hu looked at Mona seriously and added, "If you ever encounter a male protagonist like that in a book, stay far away from him!"
"But isn't he great? He's gentle, mature, handsome, and talented..."
Mona didn't understand, but as she described it, her gaze remained fixed on the man in front of her who dared not look her in the eye.
"If he were really that good, he wouldn't have seduced the female lead who was naive, underage, and had an incomplete worldview."
As Zhen Hu finished speaking, he couldn't help but glance up at Mona, but Mona immediately withdrew her burning gaze from him the moment he looked up.
Mona buried half her face in the blankets, her eyelashes trembling slightly, and said, "Dad, the male lead in the book knew, he restrained himself, and he rejected the female lead, but when emotions run high, you really can't control them, it's a love that's mutual..."
"What? The man is forty and the girl is sixteen, and they're going head-to-head?" Zhen Hu scoffed. "Does he become ten years younger by taking a few more steps, or does the girl gain twenty years of life experience by taking a few more steps forward?"
The girl is currently in her adolescence, a time of great emotional fluctuation. Many of her ideas are immature, and she desperately needs the approval of others.
This book's claim of making girls fall for men is simply that they treat her like an adult, not a useless little kid. What kind of nonsense is that? He also says he likes the purity and beauty of young girls. Does that mean he likes those brainless adult women, and then realized that adults all have brains, so he's looking further down the line?
When Zhen Hu brought up this matter again, he was very combative. This was also due to the fact that, apart from his brainless younger brother, his mother and older sister both needed his care and attention.
If it were someone else trying to deceive his sister with sweet talk, he would have beaten that guy to death.
"That's true. Adults always think we're too young and don't let us do this or that."
Mona's attention was drawn to Zhen Hu's last sentence, and she took the opportunity to complain.
“In your parents’ eyes, you will always be children.” Zhen Hu sighed, and when he got to the sentimental part, he suddenly thought of his own mother. He reached out and touched Mona’s little head again, and said, “If you feel that your parents are restricting you too much, you can tell us. Don’t… read some weird books.”
"Does Dad find the book strange, or am I the one reading it?"
Suddenly, Mona sprang up from the bed, and before Zhen Hu could react, she pounced into his arms and clung to him tightly.
