Chapter 627 Differences

Mingmei was dazed as she stared at the wheels that were almost as tall as herself.

She had played games set on the ancient planet Blue Star before, and she had seen buses from that era, but when this enormous, box-like bus with tires as tall as a person appeared, Mingmei was still quite shocked.

Good heavens, this bus is huge!

"Host, think about it. With such heavy snow and temperatures tens of degrees below zero, would those buses you saw in the game still be usable?" Gui Gui explained Ming Mei's surprise.

Times are changing, and in this awful weather, shouldn't buses also evolve along with it?

Listening to Gui Gui's explanation, Ming Mei waited until the giant bus stopped before boarding.

As soon as she got on the bus, she saw that the bus driver was a gamer. He glanced at Mingmei and obviously recognized her too.

"Pay with coins or swipe your card."

When her classmate spoke up, Mingmei reached into her pocket, took out her bus card, and swiped it.

"Go back."

There weren't many people on the bus, and Mingmei noticed there were still empty seats in front of the bus, but the driver's reminder clearly indicated that something was wrong.

She walked towards the back of the car with her insulated backpack on her back, and only stopped and sat down when she was near the back door.

After she sat down, she looked around again and found Zhen Po sitting at the very back with her hands in her pockets and her head slightly lowered.

Mingmei then understood what the driver meant by his reminder.

Zhen Po felt someone staring at her, so she looked up and met Ming Mei's gaze.

The moment he saw Mingmei, the other person's eyes lit up; clearly, he recognized her too.

Zhen Po stood up and walked over to Mingmei. Before Mingmei could speak, he excitedly exclaimed.

"What are you doing here? What's your role here?"

Instead of immediately answering Zhen Po's question, Mingmei's gaze fell on the bag slung over Zhen Po's shoulder. Seeing that the bag was bulging, she smiled and said, "The role assignments are quite strange, I'm not sure what to say... What about you, what are you doing in this round?"

"Hi, teacher."

"ah?"

How does this person look like a teacher?

Seeing Mingmei staring strangely at the backpack behind her, Zhen Po immediately understood what Mingmei was wondering about, so she quickly explained, "No, I teach robotics, this is just a tool I'm carrying."

"Wow, a robotics course?" Mingmei exclaimed. "Your role is much better than Lu Xiaoyao's."

Upon hearing Mingmei mention Lu Xiaoyao, Zhen Po perked up. After inquiring with Mingmei, he learned that the two of them actually lived in the community next to his.

The two took the opportunity to check the number of classmates they knew.

"I met a few players on my end too, and we all discussed it, and the difference between this character and the final one is really..."

Zhen Po shook his head when this was mentioned; he couldn't imagine what his character could do after the space pirate invasion.

Should they bravely sacrifice themselves and send themselves to their deaths, or surrender directly and wait for the space pirates and the Zerg to weaken each other?

Seeing that he seemed a little distracted, Mingmei didn't say much, but simply asked him where he was getting off and how crowded the area was.

To her surprise, Zhen Po's workplace was in the city center, and Ming Mei also found her ideal area to sell boxed lunches.

After getting out of the car with Zhen Po, Mingmei spoke up while no one was around: "I've made some boxed lunches to sell secretly, do you want to buy some?"

After asking the questions, and seeing the other party readily nod, the deal was instantly struck.

Zhen Po's eyes widened like copper bells, and she could barely speak properly as she pointed at Ming Mei.

"You, you, you, how could you..."

"I already said it's a game question, I want to know too." Mingmei pretended not to know anything, but Zhen Po's brain and Lu Xiaoyao's brain circuits were probably dug by the same construction team. He didn't suspect anything at all, and didn't show Mingmei his superb acting skills.

Therefore, after seeing the comparison, Zhen Po did not hesitate to choose the premium roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) set meal.

“If you’re going to keep setting up your stall here, I’ll tell the other players when I get back today, so they don’t get upset.” Zhen Po finished half a roujiamo in one bite, and Mingmei felt a lump in her throat from wolfing it down.

It was as if he had eaten half of the roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) and choked on it.

"Yes, I hope everyone will come and buy the food here..."

I haven't tasted Mingmei yet, but based on Lu Xiaoyao's description, it's really inedible.

"Who can argue with that?"

Speaking of this, Zhen Po had a lot to complain about. "Last night I managed to find half a pack of compressed biscuits to eat. That community canteen is really just about getting something edible; it's even worse than nutritional supplements."

Upstairs from me, there was another player, though I don't know what role he was playing. Oh my god, he was howling like a banshee in the middle of the night! It kept me upstairs in the middle of the night knocking on his door to ask what was going on, and guess what?

Since Zhen Po had asked that question, Mingmei naturally had to reply with, "What's wrong?"

"It's because the other person brought back a bowl of porridge at night, but couldn't stand the color of the porridge, which was just water, so they didn't eat it. They left it by the window, and then got hungry again in the middle of the night and decided to eat it. Good heavens, the porridge had frozen into an ice pile!"

The real trouble didn't end there; he put the food in the microwave for a quick spin, and the bowl shattered. After a whole night of searching and getting nothing, he cried.

Mingmei: "Is she really that emotionally fragile? ...No way."

Listening to the other party's description, Mingmei doubted how someone with this kind of mentality could become a military academy student. With her uncle's previous games, wouldn't he have gone crazy long ago?

"Who knows? Maybe it's a personality bonus that comes with the game character." As Zhen Po spoke, the two walked to the foot of a building. Zhen Po waved goodbye to Ming Mei. When Ming Mei watched her go upstairs, she turned around and saw a car that looked brighter than the previous bus stopping on the opposite side of the road.
