"My God, what's going on? That starship seems to be off-limits!"
Despite being frostbitten and seemingly on the verge of death, the players remaining on Ancient Blue Star were still glued to their phones, constantly browsing the internet and showing such concern for the starship.
Ye Qing watched coldly, wondering if these people would maintain this posture before they died, watching the Zerg invasion live on their phones.
However, Ye Qing, who was changing their dressings, was also curious about this.
"What happened?"
Player A: "Yeah, it seems like the team has been unable to move forward since last night, and we still don't know what happened."
Player B: "I don't know if it's just my imagination, but I feel like the atmosphere on the streets is a bit strange today. There are more patrols on the streets, and it seems like everyone has been told not to move around unnecessarily. Has something happened?"
Player C: "Could it be that the Zerg are really coming?"
"What are you saying?" Hearing this, Ye Qing's hands became heavier, and Player B cried out in pain as she applied the medicine.
"The Zerg's timeline isn't something we can easily influence or advance at will." Ye Qing felt that the three people in front of her were worrying unnecessarily. "We might be able to alter the space pirates' timeline or change their behavior, but to influence the Zerg? How would we do that?"
"How would I know?"
The players, speechless after being rebuked by Ye Qing, touched their noses somewhat embarrassedly and said nothing more. They just turned to look at the calm Ye Qing and asked in a low voice, "Then the insectoid race will be here in about ten days. Aren't you afraid?"
Ye Qing remained calm, glanced at them and others, and coldly asked, "Do you need me to prescribe some sleeping pills for you? The kind that will make you fall asleep instantly."
Everyone: "..."
That's not necessary.
"Change your mindset. The chance of witnessing the death of a planet is very small, and to see it alive is even rarer."
Hearing Ye Qing's words of comfort, everyone's emotions became even more volatile.
They don't want to.
“You…” One player seemed to have realized something. Looking at Ye Qing’s cold face, which showed no emotion whatsoever, he asked, “Were you also rejected when you registered last time?”
"I didn't register."
Ye Qing calmly answered them. Seeing the three of them staring in disbelief, Ye Qing felt that she and they didn't have much in common anymore.
Why would you have such a dangerous idea?
Some players, still curious, couldn't help but ask.
"Is it dangerous?" Ye Qing said dismissively. "You only truly appreciate something when you realize its loss. Whether it's being thrown onto a dying planet or hearing about a place being destroyed, you can't truly understand it until you've seen it for yourself."
Empathy from those who experienced it firsthand and those who merely observed it remains rare. Perhaps, after this experience, they will strive even harder on the battlefield in the future?
As Ye Qing spoke, she looked at the three of them, who seemed lost in thought. She recalled their usual carefree and silly behavior, as well as their idiotic act of getting frostbite while watching a spectacle a few days ago. She figured that these three probably hadn't experienced much hardship since they were young.
Or perhaps, they never witnessed true suffering.
Just like she always has.
Whether you say she misses her deceased grandmother or is using this method to experience everything her grandmother once longed for, she genuinely wanted to wait for her final demise.
"Um... what you said makes a lot of sense." Player C scratched his head, glanced at the two people beside him, and saw them frantically giving him winks, looking like they didn't want to say anything more. But he still said, "But the point of playing games is to win and to complete them. If everyone just accepts death and waits for it to come when they enter the game, that's not what the school and the legion originally intended for when they designed this game, is it?"
"So what?" Ye Qing looked at the three of them and asked, "What do you want to do now? Are you still going to stubbornly charge in?"
"What do you guys think? How about we steal a fighter jet, blow open the emergency escape pods at the bottom of the starship, and rush in?"

...
Completely unaware of the "snake spirit" thoughts of some players below, the crowd started to go crazy after capturing the starship.
It seems like we've hit a dead end.
"How about we hand over the decision-making power to those below?"
None of the people present felt they had a great sense of the big picture, or even the ability to broaden their perspective.
Lu Xiaoyao, who always liked to be lazy, thought it was best to leave this matter to someone else.
"The passage is now closed. Those who came in underwent genetic modification under the guidance of the robots, and their mental state is not good afterward. They are now being rested in the slave quarters."
Just as Lu Xiaoyao was giving her advice, Hu Yue and several other NPCs who had fought alongside her returned from outside the main control room.
They had just gone down to comfort the surviving ordinary people. When they heard that all the aliens were gone, they were initially happy that they could go home, but then they were shocked by the condition of the new batch of players who were sent in afterward.
In a daze, they realized that they had been just like those people before.
Suddenly facing death, facing the fear of an unknown fate.
These negative emotions are easy to trigger but difficult to soothe. Hu Yue only returned after she had seen those people calm down.
I heard about this as soon as I got back.
"No way." Therefore, Hu Yue immediately rejected Lu Xiaoyao's suggestion.
