"Very chewy and delicious."
Mingmei and Muchen sat there watching Feng Li finish two servings of grilled octopus claws by himself. They exchanged a glance and breathed a sigh of relief at the same time.
Just as Mu Chen had guessed, the dungeon managers were not necessarily very united. Look at Feng Li eating the octopus claws; he didn't hesitate for a second.
"Yes, this is really delicious."
Mingmei nodded while holding her teacup, then looked at Aolai, who was holding two insect kernels as a walnut plate, and for a moment she was at a loss for words.
She wasn't good with words and didn't have much to say.
Besides, although the two weren't particularly unhappy with their gifts, they didn't seem very happy either.
"The reason I had Olay invite you here today is—" Feng Li, wiping the sauce from the corner of his mouth, finally got to the point, "Help me find out who is colluding with alien insects to disrupt the order of the alien sea."
"Are you sure it's Zerg?"
Mu Chen's eyes flickered; he was very sensitive to the "external insects" that Feng Li had mentioned.
"Yes, I originally sent people to investigate, but they were killed halfway through." As he said this, Feng Li's gaze fell on Mu Chen, and Mingmei and Mu Chen seemed to understand something.
Mu Chen: "..."
Mingmei: "..."
That person was probably the boxer who was killed by Mu Chen in the boxing ring, and the one whose mission Mu Chen's character had been given.
That person had clearly been exposed, which led to his death.
Do you have any leads?
Mingmei and the others are also investigating this matter, but they don't have many clues. Lu Xiaoyao and the others are also searching along Zhen Hu's lead, but the process is not going well either.
The neighbor they had been searching for who was connected to Zhen Hu suddenly disappeared while Lu Gui and Lu Xiaoyao continued their investigation. There was no trace of him, neither alive nor dead, and there has been no news of him since.
They were either silenced or they received a tip and went into hiding.
Regardless of the reason, it's clear that the person behind it is incredibly powerful.
“Those few information brokers who collude with the Zerg.” Feng Li tapped his finger on the armrest of his wheelchair and looked at Mingmei. “I posted that mission earlier; you should have accepted it, right?”
"Yes, I've passed the task on to my classmate." Mingmei hadn't expected that Feng Li had posted the task, "but the list is clearly incomplete."
Mingmei remembers that there were many more information traffickers who were executed back then.
“But this is all I know about this point in time.” Feng Li suddenly reminded Mingmei that this was a game, a game adapted from real-world events, and that none of them were omniscient or omnipotent at this point in time.
"How long until that event happens?"
Mingmei recalled the battle in the Lightfeather Starfield. At that time, they were capturing that Zerg in the game and didn't know much about what was happening outside. By the time they found out, the battle was nearing its end, a Pyrrhic victory achieved at the cost of a planet and the lives of millions of people.
For several days, the sound of a death knell echoed regularly across the school square.
This incident not only made the Third Legion resent the Outer Sea, but it was also an indelible wound for the Empire.
"One month."
Feng Li looked at Mingmei and Mu Chen and asked, "Can you find out?"
"May I ask, so far, have you found anything in reality?"
"I found out," Feng Li said, then added, "but I won't tell you."
Mingmei: "..."
Well, they still have to work hard on it themselves.
"So you called us here today just to send out the tasks posted online face-to-face again?" Apart from the opening "family reunion" segment, the other party served grilled octopus legs in the middle and then asked them to do something for them at the end.
I begged them, but they wouldn't reveal even the slightest clue.
"Do you have a good relationship with these managers?" Seeing that the other party was unwilling to go easy on her, Mingmei began to take it seriously and started to probe indirectly.
"It's not that great, but there's no conflict either."
Feng Li fiddled with her long, golden hair that resembled a fishtail, and what she said was truly unpleasant to hear, offering absolutely no useful information.
Mingmei glanced at Mu Chen beside her. Mu Chen, who had been silently observing without saying a word, received Mingmei's signal. He put down his teacup and asked, "The tea in this cup is quite good. We saw it sold somewhere in the Outer Star Sea. Could we pack some to take home later?"
"Sure, it's just in the game anyway, so I don't care." Hearing Mu Chen say that, Feng Li smiled and called out to Aolai, asking him to go upstairs and bring down some of the tea she had hidden.
Olay responded and left. Mu Chen watched him go upstairs before he heard Feng Li speak: "Tell me, what do you want to do by sending Olay away?"
Who killed Ole?
When Mu Chen asked this question, Mingmei saw the veins on the back of Feng Li's hand, which was gripping the armrest, suddenly bulge. Mingmei didn't dare to look closely at the expression on Feng Li's face. She knew that Mu Chen had stepped on the other party's landmine in that fleeting moment of murderous intent.
“It’s not anyone.” After a long while, Feng Li took a deep breath. “It’s his genetic defect.”
"Really?" Mu Chen asked again, as if he wouldn't stop until he had infuriated the other party. "Has it reached a point where it's completely beyond saving?"
"Otherwise what?"
Feng Li's eyes were sharp, and his gaze toward Mu Chen was filled with unspeakable anger. Ming Mei could tell from her many experiences that apart from the genetic issues, there might really be other hidden reasons behind Olay's death in reality.
