Chapter 725 A Comeback (Part 1)

"What's wrong? I've noticed you're not focused on anything. You were thinking for so long, what were you thinking about?"

After leaving the conference room, Mu Chen went to the logistics department to get some food.

After all, it's been a meeting lasting several hours, and everyone has to concentrate fully. It's impossible not to be hungry.

After they came out, Mingmei and Muchen found a quiet place to rest. Mingmei then sat there in a daze, not disturbing anyone.

Only after she came to her senses did he put the food into her hands.

"It's nothing, I was just thinking about what happened earlier. I feel like I've lost my dreams." Mingmei sighed. "They're making such a fuss over nothing. They know what's going on in each other's minds, yet they still have to test each other. Can't they just say it directly?"

Mingmei felt that when her parents and Hu Mingli talked, they were all harboring ulterior motives.

"There are some things we shouldn't talk about. Didn't you see that Major General Hu was actually in a very bad state today?" Mu Chen said calmly under Mingmei's questioning gaze. "He must have learned something that is quite shocking, otherwise his reaction would have been so strong even before Mr. Mingyi had gotten to the point."

After Mu Chen finished speaking, Mingmei ate her food in small bites, muttering softly, "What's so shocking? Do you think my parents know?"

Of course I know.

Mu Chen didn't need to think much about it; Ming Yi's expression during the meeting just now made it very clear.

"It seems that Major General Hu is unwilling to face the facts."

As Mu Chen spoke, he raised his hand to touch the top of Mingmei's head and asked, "You want to know?"

"Well... at least I can't be blind, I have to know something."

After thinking for a moment, Mingmei shared her thoughts, "But I always feel that it would be very scary to talk about this."

Just as Mu Chen said, Hu Mingli seemed to be restraining himself throughout the meeting. He clearly knew some things, but he was unwilling to say them or face them.

"Then you can ask." Mu Chen said, glancing at the other person with a bright smile, and asked in return, "Do you want to know?"

"I don't want to." Mu Chen shook his head decisively, which surprised Ming Mei even more.

"You really don't want to?"

"Hmm. This is probably some old grudge from the past."

"You still say you don't know it's an old grudge?" Mingmei was taken aback by Mu Chen's confident tone.

"You can sense that old grudges, coupled with the fact that words are unsubstantiated and leave room for speculation, are what make the other party hesitant and cautious."

As Mingmei and Mu Chen were exchanging their thoughts in a corner, a sudden sound of hurried footsteps from not far away made them abruptly shut their mouths. Turning around, they saw Hu Yue running over at some point.

"Something terrible has happened!"

Hu Yue rushed breathlessly to Mingmei.

What happened?

"The Zerg, the Zerg..."

"The Zerg are here again?"

Before Mingmei and Muchen could even put away the food in their hands, they immediately stood up, ready to go into battle at any moment.

"No, no." Hu Yue waved her hand, then pointed to the sky and said, "Another Zerg army has arrived at that wormhole... and launched an attack on Hua Lan Star!"

"What?!"

Hualan Star Domain

Mei Qiu stood in the alien defense station on Hua Lan Star, a chilling smirk on her lips.

He was right after all; the Zerg would eventually take action against Hualan Star!

"Notify the Federation and Empire's garrison troops that those who don't want to die should leave the Hualan Starfield as soon as possible!"

Mei Qiu looked at the constantly flashing light of the communicator beside her, but did not intend to answer it.

"Minister..." The subordinate listened to Mei Qiu's words, then looked at the situation outside, gritted his teeth and asked the question that was on his mind: "Aren't you just driving away reinforcements? How can you let the Federation and Empire's troops leave?"

Do you think anything will change if they stay?

Mei Qiu withdrew his gaze from his subordinates and turned to look at the dark, imposing army of Zerg not far away. He couldn't help but smile bitterly to himself.

Is this for real this time?
