Chapter 183 Quietly Doing Great Things

"Another car has arrived. Why are there so many people today? There have been three or four cars here so far."

After a careful look, the other person said with a suspicious expression, "The person sitting in the car behind looks a lot like a policeman. Could it be that Yu Nie has gotten into some trouble? But that doesn't seem right. She's such a quiet and well-behaved girl, and we've never seen her do anything out of line. Why would the police be looking for her?"

Hearing this, someone nearby quickly stepped forward to take a look, then shook their head in disbelief: "Police? Are you sure you saw it clearly? Are you sure it's police? If you ask me, maybe they're not here to see Yu Nie, maybe they're looking for someone else in our village?"

As the two were whispering and speculating, someone suddenly shouted, "Look! It's coming down! It's coming down! And it looks like it's holding something in its hand!"

Upon hearing this, everyone craned their necks to look, and saw a figure in a black police uniform open the car door and get out of the car, carefully taking the plaque out of the car.

However, due to the distance, it was difficult to see what it was for a while until the whole thing was taken off from the back.

Someone couldn't help but ask out of curiosity, "Is that a plaque? The shape and size do look a bit like one."

At this moment, the villagers, who were busy with their own affairs, became uneasy when they heard that the police had arrived. They wondered if some family had run into trouble and had been targeted by the police.

So everyone rushed over at once, eager to see what was going on.

Someone knew that Aunt Wang's family had a good relationship with Qin Yune, so they went to tell her, "The Wang family said that the police are looking for Qin Yune and are almost at her house. I wonder if she has done something wrong. Do you want to go and see her?"

Aunt Wang was startled for a moment after hearing this. "What?! The police are here to see Yu Nie?"

She immediately dropped what she was doing and hurriedly went to the person who had called her, asking anxiously, "Do you know what happened? Yu Nie usually just sells boxed lunches, she shouldn't have done anything wrong, right?"

"I don't know, I just heard it from someone else. Let's go and see for ourselves."

As they spoke, they quickly headed towards Qin Yunie's house.

In the blink of an eye, the area in front of Qin Yunie's house, which originally had only a few people, was now almost completely surrounded by villagers who were watching the spectacle.

The group chattered amongst themselves, their voices rising in waves, so loud that the sounds could be faintly heard inside the room.

Just then, several men in jackets were seen laughing and talking to several policemen behind them, who were wearing crisp black uniforms and dignified police hats. They then led them toward Qin Yunie's house.

They stopped in front of the crowd. One of the policemen looked around and finally focused on a middle-aged man standing in front of him. He saluted him and then politely asked, "Excuse me, is this Qin Yunie's house?"

The middle-aged man was clearly not expected that the police would suddenly talk to him. He was taken aback for a moment, then nodded reflexively and stammered, "Yes...it is her house, that's right."

Seeing the leaders around the police officer, one or two of whom were leaders from their town, whom I had met before when handling matters, and noticing how respectful they were to the other leaders, I assumed they were high-ranking officials from the county.

I don't know what Qin Yune did to attract so many leaders and police officers.

Thinking of this, a look of worry appeared on his face. After hesitating for a moment, he couldn't help but ask, "Officer, what do you want with her? This child has always been well-behaved and sensible. Could she have done something wrong?"

Another woman, looking anxious, quickly said, "Officer, Yu Nie is a very good girl. She's their only child! If there's anything wrong, you have to investigate thoroughly. Don't wrongly accuse this young girl!"

Just then, Aunt Wang, who arrived later, overheard what the older woman was saying. Her heart skipped a beat, and she mistakenly thought that the police had come specifically to arrest Qin Yune!

So she quickly stepped forward and earnestly spoke up for Qin Yune: "Yes, Yune has had a tough life. She lost both her father and mother when she was little and lived with her grandmother, but her grandmother died young. Her biological parents finally took her back, but they didn't treat her well. Now she makes a living by doing small business. She's innocent and would never do anything bad. If there's anything wrong with her, it's probably because she's been instigated or misled by others. You must investigate this carefully."

Hearing their conversation, the leader was about to explain, but after listening to the two women's back-and-forth, the lead policeman suddenly smiled and reassured them, "Don't worry, ladies, she didn't do anything wrong. On the contrary, she helped us a lot and did us a great service. That's why we came here today specifically to thank her!"

Upon hearing this, Aunt Wang's tense expression instantly relaxed, and she replied with a smile, "Really? That's good. I knew this child had always been good-natured and didn't seem like the type to do bad things."

One of the leaders said with a smile, "Don't worry, she not only didn't make any mistakes, but she also did something that makes our entire city proud! See that plaque? It was sent to her."

The others who were gathered around had naturally heard what the policeman said, and now, hearing from the other leader that Qin Yune had done something that made the entire city proud, they all excitedly exclaimed, "Really? Wow, doesn't that mean our village has a celebrity now?!"

Another uncle laughed and said, "I always knew that Yu Nie was smart since she was little. I never expected that she would do such a big thing without saying a word."

"Leaders, police officers, please go in quickly. Yu Nie is inside, and Director Sun is inside too."

As they spoke, they all made way for the police so that they could get in.

One of the leaders smiled and gestured, "Team Leader Li, please go first."

"Mayor Wu, please go ahead."

The man addressed as Mayor Wu said, "This courtyard is spacious, let's go together."

The group then walked inside, with two policemen holding the edge of the signboard on each side, and a policeman following behind carrying something that was unclear.

Suddenly someone said, "Did you guys see what's written on that plaque? It looks like it says 'First-Class Merit' to me?"
