On the night of A-Mian's 21st birthday, she had a strange dream.
In my dream, a deity floated down from the clouds, his robes fluttering, and said, "Lu Amian, you have helped many people and accumulated much merit..."
"Huh? Me?" A-Mian pointed to herself.
"Yes, it's you. So you've been given a chance to go to the modern world and spend a month there. This is an opportunity that even emperors and generals have never experienced..."
Amian didn't quite understand what this meant. It seemed like she was being asked to go somewhere for a month. However, she had someone she cared about, so she knelt down and asked, "God, God, what about my baby? She'll miss me."
"Don't worry. The flow of time in the modern world is different from that in your world. If you travel to the past for a month, it's equivalent to only thirty seconds in the present world. Uh... that's about the time it takes you to blink five times. Your baby won't even be awake yet. And I'll take good care of your baby while you're gone."
A-Mian wanted to say something more, but the immortal's expression panicked. "Oh dear, we have to hurry, or we'll be in big trouble if the higher-ups catch us. I've already opened a back door for you. Oh, and some things that are hard to separate will also travel with you! I won't say anymore, you'll understand when the time comes..."
Out of humanitarian considerations, the Time and Space Administration has imposed this regulation on everyone who wears it.
Otherwise, would you expect the person wearing the clothes to appear naked in another world? Therefore, some of the things that cannot be separated from the transmigrator's surroundings will travel with the transmigrator, usually clothes, backpacks, and so on.
After saying that, with a "poof," the immortal disappeared back into the clouds.
As for A-Mian's time travel...
She sat on a park bench, looking at the arm that was tightly wrapped around her waist...
So, she brought Meng Chijian along with her during the "time travel"?!
Well, after all, she did seem to be in his arms the whole time she slept...
The next second, countless noises flooded into my head.
Noisy was Ah Mian's first impression.
She had never heard so many sounds before: human voices, strange and sharp beeping sounds, the sound of something rushing past... The two ancient people were terrified. Meng Chijian had a splitting headache, and A Mian, with her eyes closed, clung to him tightly and cried out, "Is this the underworld?! Why is it so hot and noisy? The oil cauldron in the underworld must be boiling, and they're going to throw us in to cook us!"
"But you've only just turned twenty, how could you have come to the underworld for no reason?"
Meng Chijian couldn't open his eyes either; countless rays of light scorched his eyelids, making it seem as if the sun had fallen down.
Above the shopping mall not far away, a huge outdoor LED screen is playing advertisements, with bright colors constantly changing and flashing.
The two of them were very cautious, and it took them quite a while to gradually get used to their surroundings and open their eyes.
When A-Mian thought of that strange dream, she quickly told Meng Chijian about it.
"I see. Perhaps a mischievous little deity secretly descended to the mortal realm for fun and left us to play in the celestial world for a month. The deities like you, and perhaps a hundred years later, they will take you as their attendant."
Ah Mian nodded happily, feeling like she truly was a treasure of the world.
Once they recovered, the two looked at everything before them and couldn't help but feel that this must be the celestial realm.
People were walking around, and Ah Mian thought that there were more people than she had seen in Zhoucheng. How much grain would it take to feed them all? Or did the "people" in the immortal realm not need to eat?
Meng Chijian's attention, however, was focused on those enormous creatures.
It was a large box with protruding parts at the front and back, and four wheels at the bottom.
At first glance, he was certain that this thing must be made of steel.
This box has a dazzling speed, and you can even see people sitting inside through the transparent glass.
Meng Chijian thought: How can something like this be made from iron? It's simply impossible. How big of a furnace would it take? Besides, this one box would fill the entire blacksmith shop.
This is definitely not something that humans could create; it must have been created by gods.
However, this did not stop him from immediately liking this magical thing and thinking of all sorts of benefits: if he could ride this big box, he could carry A-Mian and A-Yue everywhere, without fear of wind or rain, and it could also carry a lot of things.
However, firstly, the speed was too fast, and secondly, even if they were to bring it back, there probably wouldn't be a road wide enough for them, so they decided to abandon the idea.
Wow! Are you filming a period drama? Or a short series?
"Beautiful baby, your wig looks so realistic! Could you share the link with me?"
"Come quick, come quick! It looks like some kind of celebrity, let's go check it out..."
A crowd slowly gathered around A-Mian, as if they were watching some small animal. The young people next to her kept waving something she had seen before, called a "hand chicken."
Ah Mian looked down and realized that it must be because her clothes were different from theirs that she had attracted their attention.
She said, "This hair of mine is not a wig, it's real hair."
"Okay, okay, then—can we take a picture together!?"
A murmur arose from the crowd, "But why can't we find her online? Is she some kind of internet celebrity?"
Amian couldn't help but ask, "What is an internet celebrity?"
"Wow, is it being broadcast live?"
