Chapter 86 The School Bully Arc (Part Two)

The students in the academy finally realized what was happening.

They won't discuss what "school bully" means for now, but Wang Zixuan's attitude of wanting to be the boss is still accurately conveyed.

If Ji Hengzhi used to hate these young ladies who came to the academy the most, now his raging anger was burning.

"Who do you think you are? Just a beggar. Who are you trying to scare by pretending to be a ghost?" Ji Hengzhi unfolded his fan. "Perfect, let's teach this country bumpkin a lesson."

Wang Zixuan discovered that none of these people had been completely intimidated. Even the teacher in the study frowned, "If you continue like this, I will kick you out of the academy. I won't refund your ten taels of silver."

Wang Zixuan raised his head and said, "Tch."

After saying that, he walked to the back row, glared at Ji Hengzhi, and said, "If you're so capable, don't leave after school."

This commotion disturbed the minds of many scholars, and even the teacher ended the session early.

Only Ah Mian felt sorry for the tuition fees, so she still sat at the wooden table, unfolded the hemp paper, and copied the dozen or so characters she had learned that day twice. Then she planned to recite her lessons as usual, but when she looked up, she saw Meng Chijian leaning against the door frame, waiting there for who knows how long.

Why are you here?

"Your school ended early today, and everyone was making a racket outside. I noticed you hadn't returned to the shop, so I came to check on you." He came in to help A-Mian pack up her basket and carefully put away all the writings she had made.

Ah Mian whispered mysteriously in his ear, "A very peculiar person came today; their hair was multicolored."

"Perhaps they are people from the Western Regions; their eyes also have colors other than black..."

"No, no, you'll see when you see it."

As soon as the two left the academy, they saw a group of teenagers gathered in the back alley.

Ji Hengzhi, along with a group of servants and helpers, surrounded Wang Zixuan, clearly intending to trap him like a turtle in a jar.

Wang Zixuan suddenly flicked his bangs, remaining calm even in the face of danger. He gripped a steel pipe with both hands, making it difficult for anyone to get close.

Looking out from the wall, Ah Mian wondered, "Won't this cause a death?"

Meng Chijian frowned, examining the strange hair color. "Without swords or knives, it's unlikely."

Ji Hengzhi's men were well-prepared, having stuffed cotton in their ears beforehand. The steel pipe was also easily taken away. What followed was a one-sided beating.

The previously arrogant Wang Zixuan was now rolling on the ground, kicked around, while expertly using his arms to protect his head, chest, and other vital areas. Ji Ziheng said angrily, "Still arrogant? Do you still dare to be the head of the academy?"

Wang Zixuan gritted his teeth and remained silent.

"Keep hitting him."

The servants were rough with him, and Wang Zixuan rolled around in pain, but soon his face was bruised and swollen.

"Chief! Constables! It's in that alley!" Ah Mian pinched her nose and shouted in a shrill voice.

Ji Hengzhi glanced hastily at the end of the alley, went forward and kicked it hard, then waved his hand and left with his entourage.

"How could he be so mean? He bullies every single person who comes along?" Amian muttered. "That weirdo is so skinny, he might actually get beaten to death."

She walked over to look at the person lying on the ground, and was about to ask a question.

"Is this body really too weak?" Wang Zixuan slowly supported his forehead with his right hand, blood streaming from his nose, while letting out a duck-like laugh from his hoarse voice.

"Thirty years east of the river, thirty years west of the river..."

In the end, he almost covered his face with his hands, trembling like a fallen leaf in the autumn wind, and slid away along the wall.

"Hello……"

Meng Chijian shrugged. "He escaped. Judging from his appearance, he's probably a refugee who fled from somewhere."

"How was he able to pull out ten taels of silver?" Ah Mian, with her sharp eyes, suddenly spotted the black, brick-like object on the ground.

"What is this?" Meng Chijian was quite wary and quickly grabbed A Mian. "It looks strange. Don't pick it up yet."

"This is the thing that released the demonic sound, it's a magic weapon!" Ah Mian said anxiously, reaching out to grab it.

Meng Chijian felt that the thing was strange in a way, so he casually broke off a twig and poked it at the black brick.

Amian quickly stared at it.

However, the brick did not react at all, nor did it make any sound.

"I told you it would be alright, I'll go rescue those people..." Ah Mian nimbly darted over, feeling quite amazed when she got her hands on the brick. The surface of the brick was incredibly smooth and even; she patted it with her hand and then listened to it near her ear.

"Those people were in this box before, and they were singing all the time, but why is there no sound now?" She fumbled around for a few more moments, and her finger touched something that looked like a hidden compartment. Suddenly, the brick in front of her lit up.

Click—

Caught off guard, A-Mian felt as if an image was instantly reflected in her eyes, a terrifyingly unfamiliar sensation. Her heart pounded, and she instinctively clutched Meng Chijian's clothes, practically shrinking into him.

"It's over, it's over, my soul is going to be sucked in too... You, you have to save me!" Ah Mian wiped her tears on the clothes in front of her. "You can't use my money to go find someone else! Otherwise, otherwise I'll chant your name with demonic sounds every day, so you can never sleep well again."

Meng Chijian stared at the brick in disbelief, momentarily at a loss for what to do. The brick actually had A-Mian's face on it.

He wanted to throw it away, but he was also worried about what would happen if Ah Mian was really trapped inside.

"No. No." A-Mian raised her head. "If he really had that kind of ability, why would he have taken the beating for nothing? If he just used this thing to subdue Ji Hengzhi and the others, wouldn't he be able to win them over?"

She picked up the brick again, turned her head to the left, and Ah Mian's head on the brick also turned to the left.

A wink was directed at the brick, and A-Mian on the brick also winked.

"I know, it's a mirror! A very, very clear mirror."

Ah Mian was overjoyed. Perhaps it's human nature to pay a great deal of attention to and be curious about one's own face, and this mirror was even better than a bronze mirror, as it could even see the faint mole at the corner of her eye.

A-Mian imitated what Wang Zixuan had done before, tapping the brick with her finger.

Click—

Ah Mian, standing at a strange angle on the brick, stares blankly at the camera with her eyes wide open.

Upon seeing this, Meng Chijian pondered and said, "See if you can include me in the photo too. If both of our souls are inside, it shouldn't be a problem."

Ah Mian had already noticed that as the hand holding the brick moved, the image inside the brick would change accordingly.

She nodded solemnly, moved the brick away, and pressed her head against Meng Chijian's.

Should we smile?

A-Mian poked his cheek. "Don't be so fierce."

At such a dangerous moment, she was still thinking about these trivial things. Meng Chijian chuckled and looked at her; A-Mian tilted her head...

Click—

It seems as if some moment has been frozen in time forever.
