Lin Xi covered her blushing face with a shy look, turned around, and said, "Stop talking."
In every department, any unmarried young male doctor, unless they have any major problems, will be teased by other teachers in the department: "So-and-so likes you! Will you marry my daughter in the future? My relative is about your age, a teacher, and she's the perfect match for you." And so on and so forth.
Mulian picked up the medical record and walked towards the office. Standing at the door, she called out to Teacher Baiyu with a playful look on her face, "Brother Baiyu, the nurse said your girlfriend asked you to leave."
Bai Yu's subordinate paused for a moment, his brow furrowed as if he was still preoccupied with the patient's condition. Through his glasses, he glanced at Mu Lian with a cold, yet slightly impatient look, as if blaming her for interrupting his train of thought. "It's okay, don't worry about it."
Mulian's tone was a little unconvinced, and she deliberately muttered loudly, "If you don't care, then don't care. Why are you angry at me? Is there anything wrong with me delivering a message? Why do you treat me like this?"
Sometimes my temper comes up for no apparent reason, and I feel a surge of frustration in my chest.
Dabing secretly gave Mulian a thumbs up, saying, "Well done!" He immediately agreed, "Brother, how could you lose your temper and make my Xiaolian feel so wronged."
Bai Yu rubbed his furrowed brows and said in a much softer tone, "Well, I apologize. I was just thinking about the patient's condition, and you suddenly interrupted me, and I couldn't get my train of thought back."
Mulian blinked her eyes. Isn’t it true that when you apologize, you should say sorry?
Bai Yu was a little confused. Didn't he apologize? Why was he looking at him? He also winked at Mu Lian. What else was he doing?
Mulian's eyes widened in shock. Why didn't he say anything? It was written all over her face. How could he apologize without saying sorry? It was so insincere. She knew this man didn't realize his mistake. She knew all men were perfunctory like this, without exception.
Bai Yu was confused by Mu Lian's actions. He stood up and walked towards the ward with a bit of panic. "I'm going to check the ward."
Bai Yu's steps were disorderly and he rode as fast as he could, as if there was a female ghost chasing him to take his life.
Mu Lian looked at Bai Yu's back as he left, muttering in dissatisfaction, "Really? He didn't even say sorry when he did something wrong. Humph, relying on his seniority, he wouldn't even say sorry."
Da Bing's eyes lit up with excitement. He pulled Mulian over and pressed her down on the seat next to him, then began his logical analysis. "See? I told you that Senior Brother liked you, but you didn't believe me."
Bai Yu has been studying medicine for eight years, with a bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree. He is 29 years old this year and has just been working in the hospital for half a year. He is a model worker. He works in groups of three or four on the streets from morning to night every day, and only goes home at night when the weather is quiet. His skin has changed from the wheat complexion of an athlete to the pale skin of a dead person who has not seen the sun for half a year.
Mulian is the same age as Dabing, 22 years old, and is in her fifth year of medical undergraduate internship. She was forced to intern in this tertiary hospital.
Speaking of internships, I really want to twist off the heads of those who make the rules. Which industry requires paying for internships? Medicine is the biggest unfair employer of free labor. These days are unfair, but they are the most challenging days in one's career.
Mulian rolled her eyes. Which guy who liked a girl would be willing to take his anger out on her? Although she had never been in a relationship, after so many years of watching TV dramas, she knew that boys would not take their anger out on girls they liked. If he wanted to deceive her, there was no way out and the windows were welded shut.
Da Bing didn't care about Mu Lian's rolling eyes at all. He excitedly put his hand on Mu Lian's shoulder and said to himself excitedly, "Look, no matter whether he is on duty or not, Senior Brother always asks you to help him."
It makes me angry when I talk about this. There are not enough oncologists, so interns and regular trainees go directly to the front line.
The frontline workers are exhausted and get scolded every day.
Mulian was a little angry, as if Dabing had touched a sore spot. She slapped Dabing's hand off her shoulder and said aggressively, "Are you sick? You call this love? This is bullying. None of you are good."
Dabing was obviously frightened by Mulian's tone. Why did he get angry for no reason?
Dabing withdrew his hand, sat upright, and carefully moved his body to the opposite side of Mulian, moving at the speed of nanometers. He was curious and had a smirk on his face. "Then why do you only help my senior brother? And you said you don't like him, but I don't believe it."
Mulian shook her head, her eyes expressionless as she quickly typed on the keyboard, "I really don't like it."
If you don't like him, why should you help him? Because Bai Yu is a new doctor, he has no prestige or deterrent power, so he can't order other residents and interns to help him run errands. Only Mu Lian helps him. No matter how you look at it, there must be something going on.
Da Bing was so curious that he blurted out, as if he knew you were lying and was embarrassed to say it, "Then why do you want to help my senior brother? Besides, my senior brother is good-looking, emotionally stable, does everything himself, and is responsible. He is suitable for starting a family. Wouldn't you consider it?"
Mulian half-closed her eyelids, pursed her lips, and looked forlorn, as if she were recalling something unpleasant. Her brows furrowed as she stared at the computer, slowly typing out the medical records. "He's so outstanding, yet he's never been in a relationship. Perhaps he has some underlying illness? Older men without partners are most likely to have underlying illnesses and bad habits, and have been eliminated by women in society as inferior goods. People who collect junk will be picky, but I, a young man with all the qualities, will accept any and all garbage."
Just then, a voice appeared at the door.
"The patient has a high risk of bleeding. I've been given a combination of hemocoagulase, ethamine, and aminomethylbenzoic acid to stop the bleeding. His blood pressure hasn't risen, and his heart rate is low. Why is this? A 3.5-minute demethylation cycle hasn't been very effective. I'm going to try a 4-minute cycle first. His vital signs are unstable, he's drowsy, and he's trying to replenish his ions..."
