Chapter 2: The First Step of the Nurse Chasing the Doctor

Bai Yu looked at Mu Lian walking back, and couldn't help but raise a smile on his face. He pointed to his phone number on the paper and said to Lin Xi in a light tone: "If you have anything tonight, just call me directly."

Lin Xi looked at Bai Yu, whose brows were relaxed and his eyes were smiling. Even though he was wearing a mask, she could feel Bai Yu's smile at the moment, which made her very jealous. She was the one who knew him first, so why could she, a person who showed up halfway, affect his mood?

Mulian was very puzzled. After returning to the doctor's lounge, she told Dabing everything.

Dabing, lying on the bed, immediately became interested. He leaned on the bedside railing and looked at Mulian, "Are you stupid? You interrupted the nurse's tryst with my senior brother. How could she not give you a cold shoulder? However, we are still on your and my senior brother's side."

Mulian looked at Dabing with a confident look on his face. She was so tired that she was almost numb to explaining the second half of the sentence. She instantly lost the motivation to continue the conversation. She sat on the lower bunk near the door so that if the nurse called her in the middle of the night, she would not disturb other doctors' sleep if she went out.

Dabing's tone suddenly became very angry. He hung half his body upside down and looked at Mulian, hating her disappointing appearance. "This nurse is really disgusting. The last time I worked with her, I was busy as hell, but she asked me to give the patient a suppository, which is clearly a nurse's job. Damn, the thought of it makes me sick. Looking at the yellow shit coming out of Grandpa, I really want to vomit."

Mulian lay on the bed, covered herself with the quilt, turned off the lights, and comforted Dabing, "Hey, who told us to be the lowest class, giving us free labor."

"The average person is free labor, but in medicine, everything is special. We have to pay for it, and even then, we have to depend on others for our support."

Mulian lay on the bed and said nothing more.

In the dark space, the only sound was Dabing's faint sigh.

Dabing grabbed the handrail, a wicked smile on his face. "Mulian, does Senior Brother like you? I just want to ask if you want milk tea? I am redundant and just a light bulb."

Mulian yawned, turned over and said to Dabing, "You're overthinking it. Brother is clearly trying to give me a way out. I'm just asking politely. Go to sleep quickly. Every second you can get is a good one."

Every second of sleep counts. This is the profound experience I gained while on duty.

The two stopped talking and fell asleep. Only the sound of steady breathing could be heard in the air.

Suddenly, a beam of light shone on Mulian's face, forcing her to block the light with her hands behind her back. She opened her sleepy eyes and watched a tall figure walk in.

When Bai Yu saw Mu Lian lying on the bed where he usually slept, his first reaction was a bit of surprise. Although there was a rule in the department lounge that girls could choose to sleep on upper or lower bunks and boys could only sleep on the lower bunk, the girls who were on duty with him usually slept on the upper bunk. The upper bunk was relatively quieter, more undisturbed, and easier to sleep soundly.

Bai Yu looked at Mu Lian, who was slightly dissatisfied and frowned after being woken up in bed, and lowered his voice, saying in a tone like coaxing a child, "It's okay, go to sleep."

Bai Yu spoke cautiously, wishing he could lift the door and close it slowly.

Mulian habitually took out her phone and glanced at it. It was 03:43. She immediately placed the phone on the bedside and quickly closed her eyes. Not wanting to waste a single minute of sleep, she naturally whispered back, "Senior Brother, you too."

As soon as Mulian said this, Bai Yu seemed to be frozen by something. Taking advantage of the night light, he looked back. In front of him, there was only darkness and no other color. He looked at Mulian's bed and suddenly smiled.

When people go from a bright place into a dark place, their eyes will become dark for a short time.

Mulian was just about to fall asleep when the phone on the bedside table suddenly vibrated. Mulian opened her eyes immediately, suddenly awakened with a splitting headache. She picked up the phone and answered it in a low voice, "Hello, teacher, what's going on?"

The nurses' station was calling frantically.

Mulian felt very nervous and had a bad premonition.
