Name: Qin Che
Age: 18
[Psionic Power: 0/0 (None)]
Qin Che sat amidst the ruins, looking helplessly at the information displayed on the panel before him.
He bound himself to this system ten days ago.
He had just transmigrated, and the memories in his mind told him that at this moment, it was the early 25th century. Due to some reasons, globalization had become a wasteland, no longer suitable for human habitation. Coupled with the tectonic plate displacement caused by the apocalyptic earthquake and the extinction of various biological groups, the earth had become a dead land.
It was at that moment that Qin Che was bound to the system.
This is a simulator that gives Qin Che a chance to survive every ten days.
Fortunately, Qin Che's spawn point was not bad; it was a dilapidated underground shelter.
He awoke in a cryogenic chamber and survived the first eight days on dry rations and bottled water stored in the warehouse.
Afterwards, Qin Che left the shelter to search for anything edible, but it was clear that the shelter was surrounded by desert, with no living creatures, let alone food. Fortunately, although Qin Che had run out of food, he still had plenty of drinking water.
Now, we can finally conduct the simulation!
"I hope this system won't disappoint me, otherwise... I'm doomed."
Qin Che looked around and saw nothing but desolate, dry, yellow desert.
"simulation!"
As Qin Che gave the order.
After ten days of silence, the system information panel finally displayed text—
[Wasteland survival simulator in progress.]
At 18, you're traveling through the desert with only a sliver of water. You don't know when it will end, and as your water supply dwindles, you begin to plan your next drink. Several days later, you're still wandering in the desert, your water is almost gone, and your body is extremely weak. You start drinking your own urine.
Three days later, you collapsed in the desert, but you didn't die. When you woke up, you found yourself rescued and taken to their headquarters, Sand Dune Fortress. Your rescuers told you that you needed to work constantly to survive there. With the help of your benefactor, you obtained a position in Sand Dune Fortress and became a laborer.
At 23, you worked tirelessly at Dune Fortress, learning skills such as mining, oil extraction, crafting, and herbalism. Due to your talent, you were promoted to technician by the fortress, and your life began to improve.
At 26, you had accumulated considerable experience in technical trades. Relying on your exceptional talent, you apprenticed with an old craftsman who taught you the craft of gun making. However, due to an accident, your left arm was severed by a cutting machine. The old craftsman fitted you with a prosthetic arm, for which you were deeply grateful. He, in turn, treated you like his own son.
[At 29, due to a persistent shortage of food resources, the fortress has relied on trading minerals and oil with neighboring organizations. However, recently, the discovery of a new mine within its existing veins has leaked information, quickly making the fortress a target for neighboring organizations who covet its industrial resources, making war inevitable.]
A week later, you were drafted and forced to the battlefield, becoming a soldier.
At 30, you were lucky enough to survive the battlefield, but you also became a prisoner. You began gathering intelligence and learned that you were in an organization called the Oasis Alliance. However, you were soon interrogated and confessed everything. They also learned from you that you were a craftsman. In order to regain your freedom, the Alliance promised that you could continue to live in the Oasis, and you were assigned to work in a gun workshop.
At 34, thanks to your excellent skills and experience, you've risen through the ranks to become a junior foreman in the workshop. However, you also face exploitation and oppression from the workshop owner. Although your life is better than before, you're far from free.
At 36, you met a girl named Julie on the plantation. Your relationship quickly blossomed. Julie, knowing you were the foreman of the weapons workshop, asked to marry you, and you agreed. The next day, you held your wedding ceremony alone in a closed room.
[At 40, you and Julie have a son and a daughter, and life is starting to become difficult. To feed your family, you start trying every means to cultivate a good relationship with the workshop owner. With your excellent skills in flattery, you are favored by the workshop owner, who regards you as his right-hand man. You gradually rise to become the second-in-command of the workshop.]
At 49, your family life is getting better and better. Watching your children grow up brings you great comfort. One day, the workshop owner invites you to have dinner at your home and discuss some business. You agree, but unexpectedly, the workshop owner takes a liking to your daughter at the dinner table and wants to marry her. However, you think your daughter is too young and don't want her to marry the old and frail workshop owner, so you politely refuse. The workshop owner holds a grudge.
[At 53, you were caught red-handed by the workshop owner because of the theft of a new batch of goods from the warehouse. He forced you to choose: either take full responsibility or agree to his request. In a fit of rage, you blew the workshop owner's head off with a half-finished gun barrel and calmly buried his body. However, your actions were exposed, and the Alliance Government arrested you on charges of warehouse mismanagement and intentional homicide.]
At 54, you are sentenced to death. Your wife and daughter come to visit you. You learn that she sold the house and used all the money to bribe the prison warden, just so she could see you every day. In the last days of your life, your wife and daughter bring you food every day. Although you are a death row inmate, you feel very happy.
At 55, you were about to be executed. Before leaving, you told your wife to remarry and to live a good life. Your wife tearfully agreed, while you died on the execution ground.
