Chapter 10: Simulated Adventurer! A Life of Great Adventure!

At 27, you spent two years traveling to the southern coastal region. As an adventurer, you established stable commercial partnerships with the city-states of the South Sea. By selling goods from the old era, you grew increasingly wealthy and eventually formed your own expedition team.

At age 30, you married a woman from your expedition team.

[At 33, due to the southward spread of the war between the Machine Race and the Iron Beast Kingdom, you were forced to lead an expedition to Southeast Asia. Here, you faced ostracism from the Rock Race, but thanks to your outstanding abilities and the exceptionally rare supplies you brought each time, your expedition gradually established itself in Southeast Asia.]

[At 36, your son was born, and you settled in the Rock Empire. You obtained considerable intelligence about the north, where the Mechanicus and the Iron Beast Kingdom were locked in fierce combat. You planned another expedition, persuaded some people, reassembled your team, and led them to the Central Plains battlefield.]

[At 40 years old, for three or four years, you've been constantly on the battlefield. Your expedition team members have changed time and again; all the veterans who accompanied you on those expeditions have died. But you've also gained a lot. You've completely transformed your body using the neural modification technology from the Central Continent Empire, becoming a psychic to adapt to the extreme environment of the battlefield.]

[At 45, you seem to grow younger with each passing year. You've even joined the Cult of Mechanics, becoming one of their members. In recent years, through psychic meditation, you've continuously overcome obstacles in the Black Tide, comprehending numerous psychic techniques, and growing stronger with each passing year.]

[At 48, the Machine Race decisively defeated the enemy army, and you returned home laden with spoils. However, upon your return, you discovered that your wife had died of illness, and your son no longer recognized you as his father. Your abandonment of your family to explore the north years ago had instilled deep hatred in him. Furthermore, because you joined the Mechanicus and used their biomechanical technology to modify your body, you were no longer considered human. Even after being discovered by the Rock Empire, they sought to expel you.]

At 50, after silently parting ways with your eldest son, you set off again, overwhelmed with mixed emotions. Amidst your disappointment, you strengthened your resolve to help your former master, Chen Dianyuan, find his family.

[At 51, through your tireless efforts and your elite status within the Cult of Mechanics, you discovered the graves of Chen Dianyuan's family in the ruins of the former Military Federation settlement. From his eldest son, you learned the truth: Chen Dianyuan, like you, abandoned his family to embark on an adventure. His life was incredibly eventful, but he lost the trust of his family. His wife, no longer waiting, remarried with their child. Now, the Iron Beast Kingdom is stirring, attempting a comeback. A large number of sweeping troops are stationed in the ruins of the Military Federation. Chen Dianyuan's son is about to be conscripted, but he has already let go of his hatred and knows he will die. He entrusted his 22-year-old daughter to you, and you accepted her as your apprentice.]

At 52, you escaped the Mechanicus with your apprentice, becoming a traitor. Yet, you are overjoyed, planning one last adventure. After a lifetime of extensive research and reading, you've decided on your final destination: the Adventurers' Wasteland, to find the ruins of the First Northern Empire.

[At 55 years old, for three years you have passed on all your skills to your apprentice. You and she depend on each other for survival, traversing the cold, frozen lands of the north. But after countless attempts, you have only been able to fail each time, and the injuries on your body have accumulated more and more. Since you escaped the Mechanic Cult, the living machines could not be effectively maintained, and your physical condition has been declining. You have begun to age more and more.]

At 58, after countless northern expeditions, you still hadn't found the ruins of the First Empire. You made a difficult decision, left a letter for your disciple, and then packed your bags and left alone. Like a dying wolf king, you turned your back on everything and headed towards the dead end. From then on, you disappeared from this world. Your magnificent life gradually came to an end as you grew old. You died, but what you didn't know was that after your death, your disciple, Chen Dianyuan's granddaughter, inherited your will. She would dedicate her life to searching for the First Empire.

Upon completion of the simulation, you can choose one of the following rewards:

1. A random memory spanning ten years of life.

2. Your physique and physical condition at your peak.

3. Randomly select one of your psionic spells.

At that moment, Qin Che opened his eyes.

The sky was clear, the dark clouds had dispersed, and he was still someone else's prisoner, but his mindset had undergone a tremendous change.

If the Godfather's life was one of struggle for survival and glorious achievements, then the explorer's life was one of grandeur and brilliance.

This world... has changed so much.

Psychic... Machine Race, Rock Race, Iron Beast Kingdom...

It was all like a fleeting glance; although it was just text, it still stirred Qin Che's emotions for a while.

He quickly calmed himself down.

After the simulation, there's really nothing to hesitate about among the three options presented.

His memories... couldn't help him escape his current predicament. What good was knowing more? He didn't even know if he'd survive tomorrow.

Psionic spells are very powerful; one can get a glimpse of their power from the instant teleportation spell I already possess.

Psychic power is the extraordinary divine art that humanity can currently master in this wasteland.

However, the options are only given randomly and cannot be chosen by the user.

Even if he were given an auxiliary spell, Qin Che would still be unable to escape his current predicament.

It seems he can only choose option two.

In the simulated life, he eventually escaped the Cult of Mechanics, but due to his inability to maintain the technology of living machines, he began to age and was no longer young.

Joining the Cult of Mechanics can indeed make you stronger.

But just like taking drugs, mechanical engineering has its own technological barriers. If mechanical engineering doesn't provide you with routine maintenance and repairs, you will decline just the same way.

This can certainly be attributed to his aging in the simulator; once the living machine is scrapped, he will also lose a lot of power.

Never mind!

Qin Che quickly came to his senses. What he needed to consider most now was his own survival, not whether the living machine could last.

Without hesitation, Qin Che chose option two.

Instantly, Qin Che felt a tremendous change in his senses, strength, and entire body.

A sharp pain, as if piercing his heart, raged through his body.

Qin Che couldn't help but start trembling. His whole body twisted in pain, his eyes rolled back unnaturally, and he even foamed at the mouth!
