After surviving a sandstorm, the convoy safely passed through the danger zone on the endless sand dunes and saw the sun again.
Han Cunzhou, dressed in an academic robe and wearing a headscarf, sat upright in the passenger seat of the car, looking at the rearview mirror with his deep eyes staring straight ahead, cold and composed.
Beside him was the silent driver, while in the back of the car sat a dark figure.
The figure remained motionless, leaning forward with focused eyes, deep in thought.
As the convoy climbed a sand dune, the desert gradually thinned out, giving way to wasteland and Gobi. Gobi mountains rose abruptly from the ground, blending seamlessly with the desert environment and showcasing the wonders of nature.
"Rest here for a while," Han Cunzhou ordered.
The convoy soon stopped, and people set up tents, moved supplies, and cooked meals there.
Smoke quickly rose from the chimneys, and people sat together in silence, eating their food. Everyone was quiet.
Han Cunzhou brought out a bowl of soup and rice and walked to the back of the carriage. Someone in the line took out a key to open the door, and sunlight shone in, revealing the figures and appearances of the people inside.
"Let's eat, we'll be there in just one more day."
"Where is this?" The figure slowly raised his head, took the soup and rice from Han Cunzhou's hand, and held it in his hands.
It was Zhou Jie.
After Fu Xian's death, Han Cunzhou went to the Psionic Research Institute immediately, moved Zhou Jie's culture dish, and brought along Fu Xian's close associates to form a convoy, leaving Wall One in the shortest possible time.
They had been taking back roads and no one was paying attention. They had also sent out spies and lookouts to make sure no one was following them.
Heading north.
At this moment, No. 1 Wall must have already known that he had left, but Zhou Jie's identity had been kept very well hidden, and Fu Xian had not allowed him to show himself in front of anyone.
Even within Fu's faction, very few people knew of Zhou Jie's existence.
"The northern Gobi Desert, once you cross here, you'll be within the territory of the Oasis Alliance," Han Cunzhou said.
Zhou Jie looked up, said nothing, and took a sip of soup from the large aluminum bowl.
"You haven't given up yet?" Han Cunzhou asked.
“My brothers and sisters all died at the hands of that Qin Che. This revenge cannot go unavenged,” Zhou Jie said coldly.
“But even now, you are still no match for Qin Che. When he was in the Glory Court, even the Psionic Core had no effect on him.”
Zhou Jie sneered: "So what? I'm extraordinary too."
Han Cunzhou sighed: "Even among extraordinary beings, there are differences in strength. Qin Che is undoubtedly more powerful than you. His life level is higher, and he can be immune to the side effects of the spiritual energy core. Prince Shu originally wanted to suppress Qin Che with this, but unfortunately... he was killed by him instead."
Zhou Jie: "That's because you didn't think things through carefully before you took action. Even murder requires a plan."
Han Cunzhou shook his head and smiled: "Our plan is very meticulous, we have considered everything. Elder Fu took out the spiritual energy core, which was originally our trump card."
Zhou Jie didn't say anything and focused on eating.
"Don't worry, before I left, I took the research institute's document number 001. It can help you become stronger again. If you can improve again in the future, you might be able to become Qin Che's opponent."
"Physical modification?"
Han Cunzhou smiled and said, "More or less, but not exactly. We've worked hard for many years to secretly restore it to its original form. We just don't know if the Oasis Alliance can provide technical support. We need to conduct experiments for a while and make a stable sample before we can use it on you."
"What exactly is it?" Zhou Jie asked in surprise.
You'll find out when the time comes.
Han Cunzhou sat on the edge of the carriage and laughed, "I have sent a telegram to the Green Alliance Senate and received their welcome. In the future, we will face the same enemy."
Zhou Jie scoffed: "Qin Guan is Yuan Lin's friend, and the Fu faction has also contributed to Yuan Lin's affairs. Aren't you afraid they'll lure you there and then trap you like a turtle in a jar?"
"No, although the Yuan Lin faction is at odds with the Fu Party, the situation is different now. After the coup at Wall No. 10, Qin Che will completely take power and rule the Western Region. Qin Guan will never sit idly by. He also wants to avenge Yuan Lin. To be honest, we have the same goal. We both want to kill Qin Che and regain everything."
"Then I wish you success."
Han Cunzhou smiled and said, "I also need your help."
"You haven't told me about your extraordinary abilities since you woke up, but don't worry, I'll wait until you're ready. You'll understand then. Right now, we're in the same boat."
"I don't want to be a grasshopper, I want to be a wolf."
Han Cunzhou rolled his eyes and turned to leave.
Zhou Jie looked up at the sand dunes outside the carriage, his eyes turning a deep blue. There seemed to be a gentle breeze blowing in the air.
...
At the same time, next to Emerald Lake in the Oasis Alliance.
Surrounded by his guards, Qin Guan arrived at the shore and saw Song Ruhui sitting by the water, fishing.
This man raised an army in his twenties, and no one knows what trials he went through.
His army was highly capable and ruthless. Decades ago, he had accumulated wealth and political power through greed and tyranny. He defeated countless enemies and rose to become the largest warlord in the North.
Afterwards, Song Ruhui entered the Oasis Alliance through political maneuvering and personal connections, becoming its top military leader. After years of promotion and climbing, he became the governor of the Oasis Alliance.
A snowballing promotion.
Song Ruhui's life was legendary.
He didn't look very imposing; he had a dark, thin face, piercing eyes, a short stature, and rough, large hands. He was wearing the most ordinary fine-woven clothes and sat on the ground.
