Chapter 178 Guerrilla People in the Mountains

A large guerrilla force still exists here.

Those tribes and villages, organized by a few surviving fortresses, launched a counterattack against the desert people in the mountains.

The results were outstanding.

This is why Qin Che launched a large-scale crackdown.

The raiders were very familiar with the mountainous terrain, and as invaders, they were somewhat unaccustomed to the local environment and easily got lost.

Troops that get lost are easily attacked by raider guerrillas.

They were reckless,

Qin Che naturally didn't want their lives either.

The army group in charge of the large-scale mopping-up operation buried all prisoners alive wherever they went.

Such cruel methods were chilling even within the military.

However, these soldiers did not oppose Qin Che's decision. The military would obediently carry out any orders Qin Che gave.

As the battle lines stretch out...

Qin Che did not trust the resources of the plunderers.

Does anyone know what their food is made of?

The logistical supply lines were stretched out once again.

Transporting supplies from the western border military region to the mountains takes three to five days for a single trip. They have to cross the radiation zone, go up the mountain, and find a way to get the supplies to the army.

However, the helicopter on Wall One does not have a strong load-bearing capacity.

So even now, the vehicles they use for transportation are still cars.

This also indirectly illustrates how important railways are.

If Qin Che had already built a railway in the radiation zone by now...

That would greatly shorten the supply line.

“Roads also need to be built in the mountains. After the eastern mountainous area is completely conquered, transportation here will be improved. Only with roads can there be wealth.”

Li Xin nodded.

The two stood atop the peak, gazing down at the army camp at the foot of the mountain. The campfires were being lit one after another, like a scattering of sparks. As darkness fell, they had wiped out countless raider tribes today and would reach Tiger Leopard Peak by noon tomorrow to join forces with the vanguard.

The sweep is nearing its end.

They can complete their mission by driving out or killing all the raiders.

“In my opinion, those tribes that fled in advance have already told the mountainous areas to the north and south about the battle in this area. There are also many raiding tribes there. Will they fight back?” Li Xin was a little worried about this.

I've heard that there are hidden masters like Lei Hu among the tribes in the northern and southern mountainous areas.

"Don't underestimate those people. There are others like Lei Hu. These raiders have been in the Garden of Gods for too long. Do you think they really have no confidence?"

Qin Che sighed and smiled, "In any case, we're going to take this place and make it our new home."

“I know, should we tell the eldest prince about this? He has influence in the South China Sea and might be able to send troops to assist us, attacking the Garden of God from both sides. I’m thinking, should we escalate the battle and involve all the people of the South China Sea, so that everyone can take their own land afterward?”

Qin Che shook his head: "I disagree. I want to take this place by myself and don't want to share it with others."

Li Xin smiled enigmatically: "Ambitious, huh?"

"Only by taking the Garden of the Gods can our influence extend to the South China Sea. Trade, diplomacy, and various collaborations will follow. But the prerequisite is that we must take over this land. I've heard that the people of the South China Sea are also frequently fighting with the raider tribes in the west. They would be happy to cooperate with their friends. I think the South China Sea wouldn't want enemies entrenched next to them as their neighbors."

Qin Che's words make a lot of sense.

But to take over this entire piece of land...

This is not something that can be accomplished in a short period of time.

This battle might last for a while...

the next day,

The army successfully deployed at the Tiger and Leopard Summit.

The fortress became an empty fortress after the raiders were driven out.

It has now become the vanguard's stronghold and command post.

After the armies joined forces, they discovered on the map that the sweep mission was more than halfway complete, and the remaining part should be finished within half a month if nothing unexpected happened.

“We drove away a large number of raiders, but most of them fled to the mountainous areas to the north and south.”

"They only left the guerrillas to fight us, and these days the fighting has been back and forth."

"Yes, although we have absolute air superiority, those raiders are too familiar with the mountains..."

"God knows where they're hiding in the bushes. They're incredibly cunning and could shoot you anytime, anywhere."

The military personnel are having a meeting.

Li Zhanhuo presided over the meeting.

Qin Che and Li Xin sat silently to the side, like bystanders.

Of course, they were by no means entirely bystanders.

The raiders' guerrilla forces were just the tip of the iceberg.

Around the Tiger and Leopard Peak area, their counterattack was extremely powerful.

It can be basically determined that they are the main force.

Among them were some lucky individuals who escaped Qin Che's suppression and encounters with psionicists. Some of these were experts and masters whose specialties were not combat-oriented, but they provided tremendous assistance to the guerrillas in logistics, organization, and intelligence gathering.

"How did you solve this problem?" Qin Che asked, frowning.

"When we encounter a main force, we bomb them. They will scatter and flee, but every now and then they will form another force to counterattack us. These days, our army has suffered relatively heavy losses."

Qin Che leaned back in his chair: "I've read your battle report. The losses aren't actually that many; they're within a manageable range. Next, have the backpackers intensify their patrols. It would be best if they could find their hideout; it might be in some cave..."
