Chapter 180 Black Flag City

Qin Che will not show any mercy.

An enemy is an enemy.

Since the war has begun, don't expect to live a comfortable life as a prisoner of war.

Qin Che harbored the intention of completely annihilating the remaining forces of the raiders in the Dongshan District.

The Imperial Guard and the backpackers are incredibly powerful, and the latter also have the ability to conduct aerial reconnaissance. Entrusting this task to them is the most suitable.

...

With Warhawk dead, the Raider Guerrilla Force was leaderless.

They also escaped from three directions.

But with relentless enemies pursuing them day and night, they were subjected to air raids by backpackers and searches by the Imperial Guard, resulting in the deaths of countless raiders in the jungle during their escape.

Ironically, Zhan Fu had initially intended to cover the army's retreat, but little did he know that Qin Che would instantly kill him the moment he saw him.

The psionicists he brought with him also failed to provide any resistance.

This is what makes it extraordinary.

An overwhelming force.

After losing their stronghold, the raiders were restless and, except for a small number of diehards, the rest fled.

Even this small group couldn't find a second suitable base in the mountains, and they were easily discovered.

Smoke and flames are killers that illuminate their location.

So when the dried meat ran out, they could only eat raw meat.

In order to survive, the raiders no longer cared about anything else.

Some of them fell ill, leaving behind a trail of blood and tears on their escape route, with corpses strewn for miles around. A plague broke out in the forest, which, by a twist of fate, halted the desert people's continued attack.

Qin Che spent considerable manpower and resources dealing with the plague and disaster, set up the command center at Tiger Leopard Peak, and opened up the entire eastern mountainous area.

Next came exploration teams, surveying teams, engineering teams... a whole series of construction teams, which began to move into the mountainous area, reclaim land, and build roads and bridges.

"These resources can take the productivity of the desert to the next level."

Qin Che was very excited and selected countless construction sites on the map to build cities there.

The style follows that of raider fortress architecture, but it also incorporates desert culture and symbols. Once the road is completed, the benefits it will generate will be unimaginable.

Li Xin has been away from the command post for the past few days. As the Minister of the Army, he must deal with the plague and disasters on the front lines.

The cabinet sent two people, along with a group of researchers in blue jackets, and Ji Wenze was also there.

He wanted to find new mineral elements in the mountains. The old world was technologically advanced and brilliant, and humans extracted elements from nature to synthesize many new elements. These substances could completely neutralize the radiation particles in the radiation zone.

His work is progressing quite well.

Qin Che held a simple commendation ceremony for the Blue Jacket and Cabinet members at Tiger Leopard Peak.

In the letter that Safanyin left for him, he mentioned:

"I've sent Ms. Lina to take care of your daily needs and work; please make good use of her."

Qin Che put down the letter, looked up, and saw Lina standing in front of him with her hands behind her back, expressionless and taciturn.

"You wanted to resign before, but I didn't agree. Do you still feel the same way now?"

“Li Shuai stopped me, and I’ve reflected on it.” Lina’s tone was very businesslike.

"Hehe, what have you come up with from your reflections?" Qin Che got up, walked to the table, leaned back comfortably, and crossed his arms.

"You are my only leader, and I will inherit this loyalty and never change it." Lina lowered her head and admitted her mistake, her attitude was still acceptable.

Qin Che stared at her for a long time, then sighed: "You're not only my capable subordinate, but also my comrade-in-arms when I rose to power. Why did you resign? Haven't I treated you well?"

“No.” Lina shook her head firmly, her eyes shining.

Qin Che turned around and stood by the window, gazing at the rolling hills outside. They stretched out like patches of green jade, a sight that soothed the soul.

"I will entrust Tiger Leopard Peak to you and promote you to the position of Tiger Leopard Peak Senior Advisor. This place will be developed very well in the future. Countless resources, including commerce, politics, and population, will flock here. I want to make it the most concentrated land of wealth."

"As you wish, I will do my best." Lina bowed.

Just as she was about to turn and leave, Qin Che called out to Lina once again.

“Madam, you must remember Li Shuai’s instructions. He is like a father to you. I know you are the child he took in and the daughter he raised from a young age. I will take good care of you for Li Shuai, so... don’t be stubborn, understand?”

Lina stopped again, her back to the light from the window, so no one could see her expression.

After a long silence, she simply bowed respectfully to Qin Che once more, then turned and left.

...

Northern mountainous area,

Black Flag City.

It stands sharp as a knife, on the only secluded plain in the mountains.

The city rose from the ground more than a hundred years ago, built by plunderers. It was pitch black, and with the sun behind it, the sky appeared gloomy and gray.

The tribes who had fled from the eastern mountains finally arrived here after many days of trekking.

People were dying all along the way. The surviving raiders could only survive on tree roots, wild vegetables, and game, barely managing to fill their stomachs.

The city lord sent his garrison to open the gates and welcome them, bringing their leader before him.

The city's streets are straight and somewhat narrow, and numerous factories are built around the urban area, belching thick black smoke. Nearby, there are mineral deposits and ample firewood and coal, as well as a winding river that sustains the farmland and population on both sides of the plain.

This area is home to hundreds of thousands of raider tribes.

A century ago, they became one family through a series of intermarriages, wars, and diplomatic maneuvers.
