The lanternfish, with giant bubbles rising from its mouth, sank to the bottom, motionless, and the lantern on its head went out.
Qin Che noticed a crack under its corpse, and a thought struck him.
There's even a lower layer at the bottom of the trench...
He pointed in that direction to the stone, used his extraordinary artifact to push aside the lanternfish's corpse, and the two of them slipped into the small crevice.
Although the gap is small, it is still about the size of a tennis court, but compared to the entire trench, it is insignificant.
The lower level was pitch black, and you could reach out and touch the rock walls on both sides. They were very slippery and covered with some kind of marine plant, which floated and swayed with the seawater.
Shi Tou gripped Qin Che's clothes tightly. Although the two of them had natural spiritual energy as protection and would not be in any danger, she still became nervous.
The space in the crevice gradually expanded, and the two passed through the exit on the lower level and saw an upside-down stone peak. It was magnificent and covered by some crystal-clear ginkgo fruits on the seabed.
What is this...? Qin Che wondered. He had never seen this plant before, and even in his previous life, humans had never explored such a place.
The ginkgo nuts emitted a fluorescent glow; it was a mystery how they survived in the deep sea, and where that light came from.
However, as Qin Che led the stone through the fruit bushes, the white light dimmed after being enveloped by the two figures, only to shine again as they moved on.
It was incredibly agile, almost like a living thing.
Ginkgo trees surrounded the upside-down stone peak, presenting a scene that seemed to exist only in paintings to the two of them.
At the top of the stone peak is an altar, presented upside down. It rises abruptly from the upper layer of stone, with the peak reaching all the way to the lower layer of earth, which is quite magnificent.
Upon closer inspection, it became clear that this stone peak was enormous.
Qin Che touched the stone peak, his brows furrowed. There seemed to be nothing here, but the ecology was very peculiar, like a scene from a fantasy novel.
He and the stone were venturing into territory never before set foot in the world. There was no pressure; instead, there was a thrilling sense of adventure.
Shi Tou gripped Qin Che's clothes tightly, hiding behind him, carefully observing the stone peak, his superhuman intuition fully activated, sensing everything about the future around him.
She suddenly patted Qin Che, and when he turned around, he pointed in a certain direction.
Qin Che had complete trust in the stone; since it pointed in that direction, something must be going to happen there.
Suddenly, an underwater earthquake erupted, and a crack appeared in the rock layer at the edge of this area, from which a large number of fish emerged!
Piranhas!
Shi Tou's face instantly turned tense, and he clung tightly to Qin Che's clothes, afraid that he would be shaken off.
Qin Che smiled and gently comforted them. Unable to speak underwater, the two used their natural spiritual energy to breathe internally, thereby achieving blood circulation and keeping their hearts beating.
These piranhas, each the size of a human head, numbered in the millions, like an army, and charged forward.
They patrolled very quickly, arriving at a short distance ahead in the blink of an eye.
The fish, illuminated by the ginkgo nuts on the ground, looked quite ferocious; their fangs were long and curved, clearly those of experienced carnivores.
Before Qin Che could react, the water pressure in this deep trench was unimaginable, enough to crush space materials. How did they withstand such pressure?
However, time was running out. Qin Che spread his arms, and countless blades flew out from his personal space, attacking the school of fish!
The blade array outnumbered the fish by millions, and was imbued with the spiritual pressure of a demigod, scaring away a large number of fish.
The remaining piranhas, attracted by the carnivorous prey, lost their instinct to escape and only sought to be bitten into pieces, and were naturally all wiped out by the blade array.
A large amount of blood burst out from the school of fish, staining the seabed red. At the end of the stone peak, a loud rumble suddenly sounded on the altar, revealing a sealed stone box!
Hearing the sound, Qin Che turned his head and saw a projected image emanating from the stone box, projecting onto the ground...
As Qin Che effortlessly and casually killed the fish, he turned his head to look at the projection screen, where a continuous stream of images appeared, forming a movie-like scene.
Long, long ago, an extraterrestrial spacecraft arrived on Earth.
A group of humanoid creatures descended from above. They had the same facial features and limbs as humans, and were almost of the same species and origin.
These humans ventured into the deep sea, relying on advanced technology to extract energy from the seawater to provide them with the resources for survival.
Initially, the underwater people built outposts and camps here. Gradually, more aircraft flew in from outside the region and landed around the camps.
The settlement here gradually expanded and became a city.
The Supreme Being ignited a divine fire for it, and the city's fire shimmered brilliantly on the seabed, like a star illuminating everything.
Qin Che suddenly realized that this place was the ancestral home of the underwater people, the place where they rose to power...
So that's how it is. These underwater people come from beyond the ocean, but they share the same origin as humans; they have the same ancestors as humans.
The scene shifts to a much earlier time, when several vast nations on Earth were at war with each other.
They kept firing, the cannons ravaging everything, leveling the ground, and killing countless people.
Fighter jets dropped nuclear bombs on the ground, and several mushroom clouds bloomed on the Earth's surface, penetrating the atmosphere. The explosions flashed like fireflies.
Humans call it the 'War of the Fireflies'.
Numerous thermonuclear weapons exploded on the surface, destroying several vast nations one after another. Humans fought each other brutally, their eyes bloodshot with rage.
The war had been raging for over twenty years, causing many places to sink and the land to crumble, including the island nations that Qin Che knew well, as well as the China he remembered.
The land became barren, and the soil became acidified, making it impossible to cultivate. Humanity entered the first wasteland era.
Qin Che was utterly shocked. This was the world of his previous life... It ended in the Third World War, with the entire Earth wiped out and all the powerful nations participating.
