Chapter 26 I'll kiss you again
Lin Yao tightened his grip on Lin Yao's palm: "No."
Damn it, this guy's head is full of pornographic and obscene thoughts.
He doesn't even like me, why would he kiss me!
There are 30 seconds left on the red light countdown.
Xie Xingchen looked at him with great interest: "Weren't you going to repay my temporary mark? You've tried holding hands, shouldn't you take it a step further?"
Lin Yao felt dizzy.
The temporary tag is a good deal for me, it feels great.
One should be grateful and repay kindness.
But a sliver of reason remained, and he slowly said, "We can't kiss...on our lips...we're both Alphas...no, I've become an Omega...but nobody knows...we can't kiss..."
Xie Xingchen said, "Then kiss somewhere else?"
Red light countdown, 20 seconds.
Lin Yao's mind went blank for a moment: "Where?"
"You choose." Xie Xingchen even felt that he might be bullying him a bit too much, taking advantage of the fact that he was drunk and couldn't think straight.
Lin Yao couldn't figure it out.
The countdown has only ten seconds left.
Lin Yao's breathing was a little rapid, whether from nervousness or because his palms were covering his face too tightly, he didn't know.
He saw that the cars behind him had already turned on their turn signals and were about to start moving, so he struggled to get back in: "Let me back, the car is leaving, the car is about to leave."
Xie Xingchen leaned down, stared into his eyes, and gently placed a kiss on the back of his hand.
It was so light it felt like an accidental brush, a kiss through the back of his hand.
I could clearly feel the other person shudder suddenly and freeze.
Lin Yao's cheeks flushed red, and the back of his hands felt burning hot. He pulled back, saying, "You...you..."
He's a liar; he just said he wouldn't watch it.
He even kissed me with his eyes open.
"Sorry, if you don't tell me, I'll have to choose for myself." Xie Xingchen reached over his lower back and placed his hand under the steering wheel.
Then he said, "Sit still."
Lin Yao:? ? ?
Didn't you drag me here? Why are you turning around and attacking me?
But my head was too dizzy, and the person in front of me had turned into two. My mouth was clumsy, and I couldn't curse anymore.
So I reached out and slapped him across the face.
Gone was its usual fierce strength; it was soft and yielding, like flirting.
Xie Xingchen turned his head to look at him and threatened, "If you hit me again, I'll kiss you on the lips."
Lin Yao was startled and quickly sat back down, gripping the seatbelt with both hands and staring straight ahead.
I will never drink again.
I can't beat them in a fight, and I can't win an argument with them either. It's so frustrating.
The school parking lot was some distance from the dormitory, and when the two got out of the car, Lin Yao's steps were already unsteady.
But after sleeping for a while in the car, he was still conscious, and his thoughts kept jumping back to what had happened before. He belatedly turned to Xie Xingchen to settle accounts: "You were a liar before, you lied to me."
Xie Xingchen reached out and grabbed him, feeling even more dizzy than when he got in the car, and said with a hint of helplessness, "You really only need one drink to pass out?"
The alcohol content of that liquor was indeed quite high, over fifty degrees. No one would down a whole glass in one go, but getting this drunk is beyond imagination.
"I didn't fall, I marched in a straight line." Lin Yao said arrogantly, "Look, a model soldier in goose-step."
Xie Xingchen lowered his eyes and saw that his legs were almost twisted into a pretzel, so he reached out and straightened them for him.
"Now there are only two of us left, and I'm going to settle accounts with you." Lin Yao said, emphasizing each word.
Xie Xingchen hummed in agreement, finding sweetness in the smallest details: "You still remember to settle scores with Xie Xingchen even when you're drunk, huh? You really do have me on your mind all the time."
Lin Yao stared at him coldly, as if he were an idiot. If it weren't for his unsteady gait, he probably would have looked quite accusatory.
You lied to me about so many things.
"You tricked me into thinking the temporary marker would work for you."
"You lied to me, saying that pheromones could soothe you."
"They tricked me into holding hands so they could laugh at me."
"I'll never trust you again, you bastard."
When drunk, he rarely talks much. His cheeks are flushed from the alcohol, his mind is still sharp, but his speech is slurred.
"I'm not kidding you, it works."
Xie Xingchen raised his hand and ruffled his hair. "Having you by my side is more effective than any medicine."
Lin Yao stared straight at him, his chin slightly raised, his eyes looking confused, as if he didn't quite understand what he meant.
He was 183 cm tall with excellent proportions, lean and strong with long legs. Even among Alphas, he was exceptionally tall, creating a noticeable height difference between him and Xie Xingchen, who was 1.9 meters tall.
"I don't understand, you're lying to me again."
Xie Xingchen looked down at him, her hand still resting on the top of his head. Despite his sharp personality, his hair was surprisingly soft, and she couldn't help but ruffle it a few more times.
"real."
"You lied to me, you lied to me." Lin Yao was a little dazed, the light and shadows in front of him were bright and dim. He muttered to himself, "Everyone lied to me. My parents didn't come to pick me up. I kept waiting, until I turned eighteen, but they still didn't come."
His words were incoherent, yet they struck Xie Xingchen like a stab to the heart.
"I was wrong." Xie Xingchen reached out and held the person in place, then put them on his back, coaxing them like a child, "Then let's not hold hands, the bad guy will carry you back, okay?"
Lin Yao stood there motionless.
Very stubborn.
This is ingrained in him, even when he's drunk.
It was still quite a long way back to the dormitory, and Xie Xingchen said again, "Have you ever ridden a horse? Come on up, I'll show you how."
Lin Yao finally obeyed and sat on his back, his back straight, his hands wrapped around the other's burning neck: "Giddy up."
Xie Xingchen smiled slightly, hooking his legs around his to make him more comfortable.
In the past three years, he never imagined that their relationship could improve to this point; it was a pleasant surprise.
But human desires are endless. At first, you think it's good to just watch from afar. Later, you feel happy just to be able to say a few words. Then, once you're in a hug, you want to kiss. Once you can touch someone's neck, you want to touch something else.
What I want most is his heart.
Just as she was thinking this, she felt Lin Yao lean down, his breath, slightly tinged with the smell of alcohol, fall on her ear.
"What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" Xie Xingchen clenched his palm, obscuring his expression.
Lin Yao turned his head, grabbed his ear with his fingers and pulled him closer, then pressed his lips to his: "I'll tell you a secret."
Xie Xingchen hummed in agreement, stopped in his tracks, and looked unusually nervous: "Go on."
The night was quiet, and the gentle breeze rustled through the trees, but it couldn't drown out the frantic beating of my heart.
Lin Yao hooked his arm around Xie Xingchen's neck, his mind flashing back to the first time he met Xie Xingchen. It wasn't the day he was beaten black and blue by Xie Xingchen's henchmen and forced to take the exam; it was much earlier.
He was working a temporary job when he happened to pass by Xie Xingchen's fifteenth birthday party. It was probably a family dinner, with only the closest family and friends invited, so it was very lively, with laughter coming from time to time.
Lin Yao wasn't envious of the fancy cake or the decorations, but rather of the countless pairs of eyes that genuinely looked at him with blessings as the protagonist made his wish.
After that, this young master, who was the center of attention, didn't even need to lift a finger to bully others. He could just complain a few times and his friends would call a bunch of people to beat him up until he was bleeding from the head.
Lin Yao was bleeding and had no money to go to the hospital. He couldn't sleep that night because he hadn't received his bonus and was in so much pain. He was lying alone in the basement, shivering with cold.
At the time, I was thinking, "I really hate him."
So what if you fail a test twice?
If it weren't for Xie Xingchen, he probably wouldn't have known that his life could have turned out so badly.
"The reason I hate Xie Xingchen the most is," Lin Yao paused, feeling a stinging sensation in his eyelids, and simply closed them to force back the bitterness, "I hate that so many people love him."
But I have nothing.
He spoke so subtly, yet Xie Xingchen understood immediately.
A sharp, throbbing pain shot through my heart.
Lin Yao said in a low voice, "Really, I really hate it."
Xie Xingchen swallowed hard, carefully considering his words countless times before solemnly saying, "There will be someone who loves you, Lin Yao, someone who loves you more than anything."
