Chapter 56 Hormones Bursting

Chapter 56 Hormones Bursting

Lin Yao felt a dampness in his palm.

The first time he saw Xie Xingchen cry was because of him.

Before university, the two had little interaction, and most of their encounters were at the honor roll, under the national flag, or during combat training, but he always appeared spirited and high-spirited.

Lin Yao used to think that someone from such a wealthy family and with such high intelligence must have no worries.

They always seem to be in complete control and have victory in their grasp.

But now, there's such a big reaction just because I wrote down a code name.

Lin Yao stared blankly at him, at his expression that, though hidden by his own hand, still looked sorrowful.

"I didn't realize you had such a terrible past," Xie Xingchen said in a low voice. "It was much worse than I imagined. It must have been very difficult. What would you have done if you hadn't escaped?"

Lin Yao was extremely anxious, so he put his palm down and held out his hand for him to see.

It's all in the past. I just... suddenly seeing so many charred corpses reminded me of what happened before. It's okay, I'll be fine soon.

"How can I help you? How can I help you?" For the first time, Xie Xingchen truly realized that there was nothing he could do.

He swore that he could help Lin Yao as long as he confessed what had happened. But when the truth was laid bare before him, he found himself powerless. He could neither travel back in time to rescue Lin Yao, nor could he help him resolve his inner conflict.

You've already helped me so much, thank you.

Xie Xingchen raised his hand to wipe his face and solemnly said, "I will help you find out the truth and uncover the mastermind behind the laboratory. No matter how long it takes, I will help you get revenge."

Lin Yao stared at him blankly for several seconds, then smiled and said, "Okay."

Xie Xingchen stood up, ruffled his hair, and said in a low voice, "You continue reading, I'm going to have a smoke."

He took the cigarette case outside, stood on the edge of the corridor, lit it, took a few deep drags to suppress the tears welling up in his eyes, and then lowered his head to type in a special intelligence website address.

I just didn't expect that in a place where almost any kind of information circulates, I couldn't find the IAAL laboratory.

It's as if someone has covered up everything and suddenly wiped it clean from the world.

The tangled clues were intertwined, like a ball of yarn with a tangled thread, and couldn't be untangled in a short time.

This secret concerns Lin Yao, and he dares not entrust it to anyone.

We must start with Pei Yizhong.

He sent a message to Hall: "Dean, would you like to have a meal with General Pei? Lin Yao and I both admire him and would like to learn more from him."

The other party replied after a while: "The battle has just ended, and General Pei is very busy. We can only arrange to meet for breakfast tomorrow."

Breakfast is fine too, Xie Xingchen replied.

He stubbed out his cigarette and prepared to go back. As he passed He Li's room, the other person opened the door, and their eyes met, creating an awkward moment.

Just as she was about to close the door, Xie Xingchen spoke first: "Do you have any way to make Lin Yao happy?"

He Li stared at him for several seconds, then hesitated before saying, "I'll beat you up."

Xie Xingchen: ?

Seeing his puzzled look, He Li became bolder and puffed out his chest to explain, "He'd be happy to beat you up. You don't know that during those years in high school, the thing he talked about the most was insulting you. His daily catchphrase was that he really wanted to beat that pretentious dog up. His biggest dream was to cripple you and then see you beg for mercy."

Xie Xingchen: "........."

He Li said with a serious expression, hitting the nail on the head: "Yes, you're a show-off."

"Are you crazy?" Cheng Boyan rushed out of the room and covered his mouth to smooth things over. "He's just talking nonsense without thinking. He's been up all night and is a little out of it. Don't take it seriously."

Xie Xingchen thought for a few seconds and nodded, saying, "That makes sense."

Cheng Boyan paused for two seconds, then asked, "What makes sense?"

"Let Lin Yao beat me up," Xie Xingchen said thoughtfully. "Releasing the anger I've been holding in might make me feel much better."

Cheng Boyan: "......."

Oh no, dear dad, your patient has developed brain problems, you're going to get your bonus docked.

He Li was also greatly shocked.

He thought to himself, "Did I say something too harsh just now? Did I provoke him into talking nonsense? That would be a real sin."

After all, his original intention was just to make a sarcastic remark; he didn't mean to provoke someone to the point of mental breakdown.

He quickly pushed away Cheng Boyan's hand, slid to his knees, and bowed in apology: "I'm sorry, I spoke without thinking, I had a brain fart, I maliciously slandered you, and made up stories. Please don't take it seriously."

"Help me book a boxing ring. I'll go get Lin Yao," Xie Xingchen said casually. "You two can be the audience later, consider it a perk for your day off."

What? They're invited to sit in the audience and watch them get beaten up?

He Li watched his retreating figure, trembling: "Has he really been driven mad by me?"

Cheng Boyan said with a serious expression, "I think so."

However, the request was still made to comply. There was a boxing ring nearby, but it had been closed for a long time due to the recent frequent fighting. Cheng Boyan transferred some money, and the owner happily agreed to open for half a day.

He Li was even more worried when he saw Lin Yao come out of the room.

He seemed to be in a very tense mood, not saying a word. No, his brother Yao couldn't speak to begin with. What if he actually beat someone to death?

"Brother Yao, you...you should go easy on him later," He Li advised gently. "After all, people grow up, and I think Xie Gou isn't as annoying as he used to be."

Cheng Boyan also tried to smooth things over: "That's right, we were all just kids back then, it's normal to have some unpleasantness. Let's not go, let's go eat something nice."

Lin Yao smiled, offered no explanation, and simply walked straight toward the boxing gym.

He felt that not only himself, but Xie Xingchen also needed an outlet. He shouldn't have to bear those burdens for him, nor should he feel burdened by what had already happened.

The two hit it off immediately.

Cheng Boyan and He Li sat on the edge of the boxing gym, looking serious as they watched the two who were changing into their gear in the center of the octagon.

One wore matching black and white athletic shorts, the other boxing gloves, and stood facing each other shirtless, their smooth muscle lines and flamboyant hormones boldly displayed, like some wild wolves or leopards vying for territory.

Even before it started, it was already making people's adrenaline surge.

Xie Xingchen made a standard defensive gesture, nodded slightly, and raised his eyelids: "Come on, let's begin."

Lin Yao nodded slightly and launched an attack with a beautiful side kick.

Xie Xingchen dodged quickly, but missed. He turned around again and threw a hook punch, his movements clean and swift, leaving no room for error.

"No, they're really beating me to death." He Li bit his finger. "I'm doomed, I think I've messed up."

“Xie Xingchen wasn’t just taking a beating; he used some techniques, so he wasn’t beaten so badly he couldn’t get up.” Cheng Boyan stared at the brutal fight, his heart clenching. “However, neither of them held back; they were pretty ruthless.”

The entire venue was eerily quiet, with only the sounds of fists slicing through the air and hitting flesh, muffled groans, panting, and shouts of "Again!"

Half an hour passed, and the two still showed no sign of stopping.

It escalated, and they became entangled shirtless.

Lin Yao was covered in sweat, but felt incredibly refreshed. He and Xie Xingchen had been forced to fight each other countless times because of their similar scores, but they always thought about winning.

But today is different. I simply enjoy every collision and touch with him, it's so easy.

Xie Xingchen looked at him, and the gloom that had accumulated since returning from the battlefield finally dissipated a little. As he moved closer and restrained him, he asked in a low voice, "Does it feel good?"

It felt great.

Don't think about anything, every punch is a release of pent-up emotions.

Lin Yao nodded decisively, and without delay, he grabbed the other person's arm, threw him to the ground with a back throw, locked his legs, and completely subdued him.

Lin Yao leaned against his shoulder, panting, and looked down at him: "No good."

Xie Xingchen was pinned down by him. He looked up and saw a drop of sweat fall from the tip of his damp hair, his chest heaving.

"Lin Yao, you look really good when you box."

These words were a complete disruption to morale. Lin Yao abruptly broke his rhythm, his breathing became disordered, and he lost all his strength.

Xie Xingchen took off his boxing gloves, flipped over and pinned him down, retaliating with the same moves he had used before.

His broad palms gripped her fair neck, exuding dominance and a strong desire for complete control: "How will we know who wins and who loses until the very end?"

Lin Yao's chest heaved, his competitive spirit surging. He stared into Xie Xingchen's eyes and said indignantly, "Xie Xingchen, you're shameless!!! No way, let's do it again!!!"

Xie Xingchen stared at him in disbelief for several seconds, her fingers rubbing his rosy lips.

"Good boy, say a few more curses."
