Chapter 60 Bad Timing

Chapter 60 Bad Timing

Lin Yao looked at the clock on the wall; the minute hand pointed to the number three, and the hour hand was stopped at...

No, what's with the "counting"? Is this even human language?

He was being held in Xie Xingchen's arms, his back against the cool wall, his breathing ragged, the other man's weight pressing down on him, making him feel very heavy.

Lin Yao could only raise his head slightly, his brows furrowed, and reject his suggestion: "Xie Xingchen, can't you be a decent human being?"

"I can do it."

Xie Xingchen held the man tightly in his arms, preventing him from running away. He spoke incoherently, reacting particularly strongly to that one word.

"Try saying I can't do it again?"

Lin Yao: "......"

Unable to communicate.

It was his fault; he shouldn't have trampled on a man's dignity. Now, even a carefree young master like Xie Xingchen, who doesn't care about anything, can't let this go.

After a while, Xie Xingchen held him tightly, his muscles taut, gripping him firmly.

Lin Yao suppressed the urge to kick him away and said coldly, "What exactly do you want?"

Xie Xingchen bent his knees, his tone inscrutable: "What do you think?"

It's the subtext of "never give up until the goal is achieved".

Both of them were quite stubborn. They stared at each other, their eyes locked, and the atmosphere became tense and awkward.

Lin Yao was genuinely afraid that he would suffocate. Even a normal person couldn't withstand such repeated torment, let alone someone with such a unique physical condition.

Forget it, why bother arguing with a pervert?

“Okay…” Lin Yao felt his breath on his face, which tickled him unbearably. He turned his head and said, “Go inside, I’ll time you.”

Lin Yao felt like he had lost his mind to agree to such an unreasonable request.

Xie Xingchen straightened up, a slight smile playing on his lips, and said teasingly, "Are you listening?"

Lin Yaozhen couldn't stand his bluntness and retorted like a firecracker, "Otherwise what? Do you expect me to just watch?"

Her ears were red, but she pretended to be calm.

Xie Xingchen couldn't help but reach out and rub his hand, very generously saying, "You can watch, I have no objection, I'd be very happy to let you watch. That way, the result will be fairer, more just, and more transparent, and you'll be my witness."

Anyone who didn't know better would think he was participating in some kind of longest time contest, spouting nonsense with a straight face.

Lin Yao was truly amazed by the extent of his vulgarity.

She raised her hand to wipe her face, unable to help but curse, "Do your family know how perverted you are?"

Xie Xingchen's gaze swept across his aloof face, lingering on the mole on the tip of his nose, before sliding down to his opening and closing lips, as if he wanted to kiss him.

But there are no excuses now.

Seeing that he didn't speak, Lin Yao thought to himself that it was no wonder he was sick, but perhaps he had scolded him too harshly.

Despite her stubbornness, she was soft-hearted and pushed the person away, saying, "I'm too lazy to look. Go quickly if you want to."

Xie Xingchen looked at him quietly for a moment.

Regardless, the fact that Lin Yao was backing down for him gave him more psychological pleasure than anything else.

"You spoil me so much, Yao Yao." Xie Xingchen traced his fingertips across his gland, paused for a few seconds, and then withdrew them with restraint.

Lin Yao said succinctly: "Get lost."

Xie Xingchen really has no bottom line, and besides, he's been through a lot of trouble going back and forth. He turned around and actually went into the bathroom, leaving the door ajar, not intending to cover himself up at all.

Lin Yao glanced at the clock, not forgetting to retort, "Don't cheat."

"It's not that bad." Xie Xingchen had just turned on the tap, leaning against the wall, and couldn't help but laugh.

The fact that he agreed to this was already quite strange. Lin Yao glanced at the clock, picked up the half-read military and political book next to him, and started flipping through it seriously, but he found it difficult to concentrate.

For some reason, I was reminded of that time at the hospital.

At the time, because his bloody wound had been touched, Xie Xingchen swaggered into the bathroom, completely unconcerned.

Does he have no sense of shame?

Don't you feel embarrassed?

Lin Yao flipped through the book absentmindedly, not reading a single word.

He had just gotten up when his eyes swept over the time on the wall, and then he silently sat back down.

If Xie Xingchen comes out and sees that I'm not there, he'll definitely say that this doesn't count and we'll have to start the count again.

"So annoying." Lin Yao frowned and muttered under his breath, "He's really out of his mind."

I don't know how long I've been flipping through the book, but I haven't memorized a single point.

"Lin Yao." Xie Xingchen suddenly called his name, his voice low.

Lin Yao raised his hand to rub his ear, which was terribly numb, and was extremely irritated: "Don't call me!"

So annoying.

He talks a lot at times like this.

There was a sudden knock on the door, and Lin Yao froze, feeling inexplicably nervous, as if he had done something wrong.

Xie Xingchen was very subdued. Apart from calling out his name just now, he didn't make much of a sound. Lin Yao, however, was afraid that he had revealed something again.

He made a commotion as he shuffled over to the door, and when he saw the dean standing there, he felt guilty, as if he had been caught by an adult, and was at a loss for what to do.

"I heard you weren't feeling well, so I came to check on you." Hall walked straight into the room. "Where's Xie Xingchen?"

Lin Yao blinked slowly and said dryly, "Take a bath."

Then I saw the other person find a stool and sit down, and casually pick up his book to flip through it: "Then I'll wait for him to come out. You're very hardworking. Even when you're volunteering, you don't forget to read."

"Yeah, I'm used to it," Lin Yao replied perfunctorily, but his eyes lingered on the half-open bathroom door. Why wasn't this over yet?

Hall seemed unusually talkative today, and asked, "General Pei mentioned you this afternoon, saying that you hit it off immediately."

"Really? I also think he's a nice person." Lin Yao was absent-minded and not good at chatting, so he ended the conversation with just one sentence.

At this moment, he really wished Xie Xingchen were here.

That person has excellent social skills and never lets the situation become awkward.

But the person is busy, very busy... I'm speechless.

Hall tapped on the pager: "I'm calling everyone over now, to do a quick summary right here with you."

"Holding a meeting here?" Lin Yao turned to look at the bathroom.

Okay, now he knows that Xie Xingchen is really capable.

He was inside for most of the day, and the sound of water never stopped. There was no sign of him coming out. What's worse, he went in in such a hurry that he didn't take any change of clothes.

If this is delayed any longer, soon a room full of people will be admiring his naked body.

Lin Yao tried his best to smooth things over: "Xie Xingchen doesn't like others sitting on his bed. Our room is too small, we can't fit everyone. Otherwise, let's meet downstairs."

“We all live on this floor, it’s on the way,” Hall rejected the suggestion.

Lin Yao gripped his phone tightly and abruptly stood up: "Dean, I'm still feeling a bit unwell. How about we do the summary tonight?"

He rarely lies, and he appears stiff and awkward.

Hall was stunned. Seeing that his expression didn't seem to be faking it, he stood up and said, "Alright, then I'll tell everyone that you should get some rest during dinner time."

Lin Yao watched him leave the room, finally letting out the breath he had been holding in.

She twisted the bathroom doorknob and pushed it open, complaining, "Can't you hear Dean Huo coming in? Aren't you done yet?"

He entered, the dampness of the room washing over his face. The narrow space was enclosed by a fogged glass door, obscuring his view but vaguely outlining its shape.

Xie Xingchen is already quite troublesome. He has a very high threshold, so he usually doesn't take action and relies on suppressants to keep him in check.

This feeling of being stuck in the middle was awful, especially with the wound in my lip throbbing.

Until Lin Yao pushed the door open and came in.

He turned his head and looked at the equally blurry figure on the other side of the glass door, as if in an instant everything about him had been stripped away, and even his restless frustration dissipated because of the other person's appearance.

"Call me by my name, Lin Yao," Xie Xingchen whispered.

Lin Yao was unaware of the situation.

He paused for a few seconds, but still did as instructed: "Thank you, Xingchen."

Her voice was soft and gentle, yet it stirred a deep longing within me.

Xie Xingchen hummed in response, his voice barely audible as he suppressed his disordered breathing: "You can go out and check the time now."

Lin Yao froze for two seconds, then fled in panic, the door slamming shut behind him.

He looked up; the minute hand still pointed to the three, as if it had never moved. The hour hand... what time was it?

Lin Yao clicked his tongue softly: "This clock broke at the worst possible time, what a waste of time."

-

It's not broken.
