Chapter 3

Jiang Jiang took a deep breath and inhaled all the sourness in his nose.

"Yes, I can't catch up with my cousin in everything. The thing I can't catch up with the most is that my cousin has a grandmother who never makes her work, never insults her, and never compares her with others. She also has parents who pick her up from school and send her to cram school, and who don't force her to drop out of school to help the family. She is an only child and doesn't have two brothers who don't respect her as a sister."

At the end, Jiang Jiang's tears fell. She laughed at herself and said, "Look, there are many things that I can't compare to her."

She actually understood many things when she started school, such as a student's mission is to study, boys and girls are equal, and taking care of children is the parent's duty.

But in her house, all of this is reversed.

She tried to communicate with her parents that she should have more time to study, but her mother scoffed at her. What's the point of a girl studying? She also told Grandma Jiang that men and women are equal and she shouldn't favor boys over girls, but Grandma Jiang rolled her eyes and said she had nothing to compare with her two younger brothers. She resisted doing these chores that weren't hers to do, but everyone in her family glared at her and said she wouldn't have a meal if she didn't work.

Sometimes she was confused about whether what the teacher taught was right or what her family members did was right.

So, she didn't want to drop out of school, she wanted to continue her studies. She knew that once she dropped out of school, all she would receive would be what her grandparents and parents forced into her.

Then she would become like them.

Jiang Jiang has always been a submissive person. The sudden retort made Grandma Jiang open her mouth wide and couldn't breathe out. She just pointed her finger at her and didn't say anything for a long time.

Jiang Jiang ignored her and rushed into the bathroom to wash up.

Grandma Jiang finally recovered and started cursing angrily.

"I raised you just to talk back! How have your parents ever let you down? We feed you, clothe you, send you to school, and ask you to help the family with some chores, and you're so rebellious? You've studied so hard, and yet you talk back to your own grandmother! I'm telling you, when I get to the store I'm going to tell your parents, and you still talk back to me! Just wait and see if your parents will give you a good result for talking back to me!"

However, before Grandma Jiang had finished venting her anger, her baby grandson came out.

"Grandma! Are you annoyed? You're making so much noise so early in the morning!"

Grandma Jiang just let out a little anger, but was choked by her own precious grandson again. But this was her precious grandson, so she had to force a smile, "Okay, okay, grandma won't make a fuss anymore, Feifei go back to sleep."

After Grandma Jiang helped him close the door, she prepared to go to the bathroom door to block Jiang Jiang.

Jiang Jiang turned sideways and slipped past her. Without waiting for her to speak, he ran to the door, opened it in his slippers, and closed it behind him.

“Bang!”

The door closed with a loud noise, and Grandma Jiang was so angry that she trembled.

"Wait a minute, I won't tell your parents, and you're talking back to me! You're slamming the door! You're pissing me off!"

In the room, she gritted her teeth and said to herself.

When Jiang Jiang rushed to the store, it was almost seven o'clock. Linjiang is a small city with only one day off per week, so the noodle shop is still open as usual on Saturdays. Usually, she would go there before half past six.

As usual, the noodle shop was already full of people. Grandpa Jiang was running around cleaning up the tables, while Father Jiang was taking takeout orders at the cashier.

Seeing the two people, Jiang Jiang didn't say hello and rushed directly to the back kitchen. Then he put on an apron without saying a word and stood in front of his own stove.

"Why so late?" Jiang's mother looked at Jiang Jiang with a frown, and without waiting for Jiang Jiang to answer, she pushed a small stack of takeout orders over to him.

“You’re a takeaway.”

The takeaway order was printed out directly, and it clearly stated what to order. There was no order for dine-in, and Jiang's mother had to explain it again. At that time, the store was very busy, and Jiang's mother had no time to explain it to her again.

"Um."

Jiang Jiang groaned and packed his things skillfully.

It was not until nine o'clock, when there were fewer takeout orders and fewer people in the store, that Jiang Jiang went to the front to take a break.

After she sat down, she realized that she had been in such a hurry when she left home that morning that she had forgotten to bring the test paper.

Once she had some free time, she thought of a lot of things, such as the system last night and the teacher in her dream.

Is this all true?

——Host, I really exist.

Jiang Jiang was startled by the voice that suddenly appeared in his mind.

It’s true!

Jiang Jiang looked at others quietly, and no one seemed to hear the system's voice.

——The host can communicate with me directly through consciousness.

What happened last night? Jiang Jiang still remembers what he learned last night. He now understands a lot of things that he didn't understand before.

——That is the product of my integration of the best junior high school math teacher on earth. He is not a real teacher, but he can teach the host junior high school math knowledge in the most scientific and effective way.

Jiang Jiang's heart warmed up when he heard this, and his breathing became heavier. In just one night, she understood a lot of things. If the teacher continued to teach her, would she be able to get high scores? And get into a good high school?

——In theory, it is possible. The system can provide the best and most complete learning resources, but to complete the task, the host still needs to work hard.

Can I study now?

——Assisted learning will only appear after the host falls asleep.

All right.

Jiang Jiang felt a little disappointed. She felt that she had wasted so much time for rest.

She thought about it, then stood up and walked towards Father Jiang, "Dad, I want to go home and get my textbooks."

She decided to try harder and study hard with the teachers in the system while there was more than a month left so as to get into high school.

Just as Mr. Jiang was about to agree, Grandma Jiang rushed over from outside and shouted in a loud voice, "Your daughter is amazing! She even talks back at me!"

When Jiang Jiang saw Grandma Jiang, he immediately pinched the edge of his pants nervously.

"Mom, there are still people in the store, don't yell so loudly."

Father Jiang frowned and stopped him immediately.

Granny Jiang knew what was right and wrong, so she immediately apologized to the customer and walked to the cashier, glaring at Jiang Jiang fiercely during the process.

If she hadn't had to send the twins to cram school, she would have come over to complain.

"Do you know what your daughter said to me this morning? She was lying in bed and couldn't get up. I kindly called her to get up, but she started to argue with me, saying that I asked her to do something and why did I insult her? She also said that her parents didn't pick her up from school and didn't let her go to cram school. She also said that her brother owed her a debt of gratitude. Listen, is this human talk? I told her that she was studying so hard that she was a dog's stomach. She slammed the door shut and the building was about to collapse!"

"I won't dare ask your daughter to do anything anymore. If I ask her to do something next time, she will probably turn the world upside down."

Grandma Jiang had been holding her breath for a long time, and her chest was heaving violently.

The more Father Jiang listened, the uglier his expression became. At the end, he slapped the table.

"You really said that?"

Jiang Jiang, who had been worried about this matter for the whole morning, was not so nervous and afraid at this moment. Her hands gradually fell naturally between her trouser seams, and her eyes looked straight at Jiang's father.

“That’s what I said.”

"You are rebelling!" Jiang's father roared and was about to slap Jiang Jiang.

Jiang Jiang's eyes flickered, but she didn't evade at all. She didn't think she was wrong!

"Why are you hitting the child? He's still doing business!" Grandpa Jiang, who usually kept silent, suddenly straightened up and shouted.

Jiang's father was stopped, "Do business now, I will deal with you when I get back tonight!"

"I'll go home and get the test paper." Jiang Jiang was a little desperate.

"Stop! Don't go anywhere today. Stay in the store! We won't give you a cram school. Don't you think about your grades? If your grades were a little better, would we not give you a cram school?"

Jiang Jiang stopped when he heard this, then turned around and looked at his father calmly, "Why are my grades so bad? Since junior high school, I have to help in the store morning, noon and night. Where do I have time to study?"

"Aren't you studying in class? Aren't you studying at night? You're not smart, but you blame others. I see those students who are good at studying, they play outside all day, and their grades are still very good!" Jiang's father hit back fiercely.

At this time, he didn't care whether there were any customers in the store and just yelled at Jiang Jiang.

"Yes, I'm not smart, so I need more time to study, but have you given me the time? I'm busy until 9pm, doing homework until midnight, and have to help in the store at 6am the next morning. I'm sleepy in class, so don't I want to listen to the class carefully?"

"In the final analysis, you are not cut out for study, no matter how much time you spend on it!" Jiang's father concluded.

Jiang Jiang was so angry that he laughed to the point of tears coming out.

"What are you arguing about? We're not doing business anymore!" Jiang's mother pulled aside the curtain, her face looking very unhappy.

Father Jiang, who was originally arrogant, immediately became frightened and his voice became soft. He kicked Jiang Jiang and said, "I'll deal with you when I get home tonight!"

"It needs to be dealt with. Girls have grown up and their hearts have become bigger! If we let her go, she might really go crazy!" Grandma Jiang followed.

Jiang Jiang was no longer afraid. She wiped her tears stubbornly and confronted Jiang's father.

Father Jiang's anger immediately flared up again. Just as he was about to say something, Mother Jiang spoke first.

"Okay, from today on you don't have to come to the store to help out, and no one will ask you to do anything. You can spend all your time studying. I'll see what you can get in the high school entrance exam!"

"That won't work. What will we do if there's no one to help in the store?" Grandma Jiang was the first to object when she heard this.

But Jiang's mother didn't even look at her and continued, "If you can't get into a regular high school, you can either come to the store to help out or go out and work on your own. Anyway, I won't support your studies!"
