Chapter 35

If someone had asked Meng Hao twenty days ago, "Can twenty days completely change a person?" Meng Hao would have definitely answered that it was impossible.

But twenty days later, if someone asks this question again, Meng Hao will answer that Jiang Jiang can do it.

When Jiang Jiang came back, the store was busy. Although there were more people, Jiang's mother would still come to help for a while.

Jiang's father was still taking orders and collecting money at the cashier, while Jiang's mother was next to him, handing the freshly packaged takeout to the delivery man through the back kitchen window.

"Dad! Mom! I'm back!"

The voice of a young and energetic girl suddenly came from the door of the store, and several customers in the store couldn't help but look in the direction of the sound.

"Boss, boss lady, your boss has come back from somewhere!" A regular customer in the store immediately recognized the person as Jiang Jiang.

Jiang's father and mother were busy just now. They also heard a familiar voice, but did not recognize it was Jiang Jiang.

Because Jiang Jiang had never called them so cheerfully and intimately before.

It was not until the guests called out that Jiang's father and mother reacted.

They looked up quickly and saw Jiang Jiang walking into the store carrying a lot of bags.

"Jiang Jiang!" Jiang's mother shouted in surprise, then hurried over and took the things from Jiang Jiang's hands with both hands, "How did you come back? I just said I would call you to ask if you had arrived!"

"Why did you bring back so many things? How was your trip? I check your circle of friends every day and you've been to a lot of places." Father Jiang also said happily.

The smile on Jiang Jiang's face has never faded since he entered the store. "My classmate's mother went to Anning City to pick us up and just dropped me off at the door of the store. These are all gifts for you."

"You can just go out and play by yourself. Why buy any gifts? Are you tired? Go home and rest first!" Jiang's mother asked concernedly, then turned to Jiang's father and instructed, "You watch over the store first. I'll take the eldest brother home."

"Okay!" Father Jiang agreed readily.

Mother Jiang took off her apron again, then carried the things Jiang Jiang brought back and prepared to go home.

Regular customers in the store also noticed that Jiang Jiang had returned from a long trip, so they asked curiously, "Boss, where did your child come back from?"

Jiang's mother's eyes were all smiles. "She just finished her high school entrance exam. She did well, so we gave her money to travel. She went everywhere, all over the country."

Jiang Jiang didn't tell his mother about the summer camp. His mother just thought that Jiang Jiang was traveling by himself and gave her several thousand yuan.

"Boss, your child has changed. I almost didn't recognize him just now." said another customer.

Upon hearing this, Jiang's mother tilted her head to look at Jiang Jiang. She hadn't paid attention to him just now, but now looking at him again, she felt that Jiang Jiang was familiar yet unfamiliar. He looked the same as when he went out, but the feeling he gave was completely different.

She didn't have time to think about it, "Girls change a lot when they grow up, she has grown up!"

"I'll take the kids home first. You guys take your time eating."

"How was your fun?" Jiang's mother asked on the way.

"It's good. It's fun to play with everyone." Jiang Jiang smiled even bigger when he thought about the short 20 days he spent with his summer camp mates.

Jiang's mother had been watching Jiang Jiang, and naturally noticed the smile on Jiang Jiang's face, "It looks like you had a good time."

“Where did you go?”

Jiang Jiang counted on his fingers and told his mother where he had visited. He also picked out some interesting things from the summer camp and told them to his mother, who laughed along.

When the two of them returned home chatting and laughing, Grandma Jiang was sitting on the sofa watching TV with the twins.

Hearing the sound, the three of them hurriedly looked towards the door.

Seeing Jiang Jiang and her mother carrying lots and small bags, the twins immediately surrounded them.

"Sister, what are these?"

"Big sister, where did you go? Was it fun out there?"

Maybe because they hadn't seen each other for a while, the twins actually showed some affection towards Jiang Jiang when they saw him.

Jiang Jiang smiled and responded, then looked at Grandma Jiang with a smile on his face, "Grandma!"

At that moment, Grandma Jiang felt that all the hairs on her body stood up. Jiang Jiang had never called her so affectionately before!

"Why are you being so affectionate?" Grandma Jiang murmured.

Because Jiang Jiang was back, Jiang's mother went to the market in the morning to buy a lot of vegetables. They planned to eat at home tonight.

Jiang Jiang put his things back in his room. Although he had been away from home for more than 20 days, the room was clean and tidy, and it was obvious that it had been cleaned frequently.

After going crazy outside for twenty days, Jiang Jiang finally took a break.

Her room is not big, but it is her only harbor since she was a child.

When Jiang Jiang arrived at the living room, the twins were unpacking the things Jiang Jiang had bought.

Jiang Jiang used her own money to attend the summer camp, and she mostly used the several thousand yuan her mother gave her to buy things.

There were all kinds of things to eat, play with and use. In recent years, Jiang's father and mother had been tied up in the small noodle shop at home and had never traveled. There were many things they had never seen or eaten.

The twins do know more, but most of it is from what they hear from others or see on TV.

Seeing these things, the twins were extremely curious. Hearing the twins' exclamations, Jiang's mother couldn't help but come out of the kitchen to take a look.

"Sister, are these all for us?" Jiang Zifei said excitedly.

Which child doesn't like to receive gifts? Seeing these things, Jiang Zifei has completely forgotten the conflicts he had with Jiang Jiang in the past.

"All of them, yours, my parents', and my grandparents'." Jiang Jiang replied with a smile.

Sitting on the sofa, looking at the twins with a sidelong glance, Grandma Jiang frowned. What about hers? It must not be a good thing!

Grandma Jiang immediately came to a conclusion. She and Jiang Jiang were enemies, and she didn't believe that Jiang Jiang would bring her anything good!

"Then which ones are for us!" Jiang Zixiang asked immediately.

Jiang Jiang sat down on the sofa and picked out things for the twins.

"This is for Dad, this is for Mom, and this is for Grandpa..." Jiang Jiang classified all the things. Father and Grandpa Jiang were not at home, and Mother Jiang was busy, so he would give these things to them later.

"Grandma, this is for you. Don't you like scarves? I think this pattern suits you very well." Jiang Jiang suddenly took out a packaged scarf and handed it to Grandma Jiang.

Grandma Jiang took it with some doubt, and then carefully examined the scarf in her hand. The scarf was packaged very well, and the pattern inside looked very nice even through the packaging.

"This is a local specialty. It's not bad in quality and not expensive. Grandma, please open it and see if you like it. I also bought one for my mom."

Grandma Jiang unwrapped the scarf and touched it. It was not made of silk and was not as good as the one Aunt Jiang bought for her, but she liked the pattern very much.

"You are quite promising. When you go out to play, you still remember to buy things for your family." Grandma Jiang said with a deliberately stern face.

Jiang Jiang lowered his head and smiled. Don't feel embarrassed about other people's compliments. Smiling is the best response.

But Grandma Jiang's next words were not so pleasant to hear, "Your parents made some money and let you buy all these messy things. You don't know how to be considerate of your parents at all, and don't know how to consider the future of your two younger brothers. Your two younger brothers will get married in the future, and giving you this..."

Grandma Jiang found a way to mock Jiang Jiang. As she spoke more and more excitedly, Jiang Jiang suddenly reached out and took the scarf away from Grandma Jiang's hand.

Grandma Jiang was wondering what Jiang Jiang was going to do.

Jiang Jiang raised his lips towards her, "I'm afraid grandma doesn't agree with the truth about gender equality, so I won't tell you. If you don't like this scarf, I won't force you to give it to me. It's just right to give both to my mother so she can wash and change one."

After saying this, she waved the scarf towards Grandma Jiang.

If someone respects me one foot, I will respect you ten feet. She spoke to Grandma Jiang in a nice and gentle manner. If Grandma Jiang was unwilling, she would not be polite either.

But now, she won't be angry about what Grandma Jiang said like she used to.

"You damn girl!" Grandma Jiang immediately became furious.

Jiang Jiang tilted his head and smiled at her again, then picked up another silk scarf on the table, stood up and walked towards the kitchen without giving Grandma Jiang a chance to speak.

Looking at Jiang Jiang's back, Grandma Jiang felt like she was about to have a heart attack.

With a sullen face, she felt that Jiang Jiang was not happy at all. Now that Jiang Jiang started to smile at people, she felt that Jiang Jiang might as well have a sullen face!

In the kitchen, Jiang's mother was preparing food. When she heard the sound, she turned around and looked, "What's wrong? Are you hungry? If you are hungry, go drink some milk first. There are biscuits on the table. Go get some."

"Not hungry. I bought two scarves, one for you and one for grandma, but she doesn't like them." Jiang Jiang handed the scarf to his mother.

Mother Jiang took a look and said angrily, "What a waste of money."

But she couldn't help but curl up her lips, "She doesn't want it, I want it, give me both!"

Then Jiang's mother couldn't help getting angry again, "I bought her something and she didn't like it! She doesn't know what's good for her! Just ignore her."

"I see." Jiang Jiang responded, "I think you will look good in this scarf, but it's still summer now, so you can only wear it when it gets cold."

Seeing that Jiang Jiang was not angry at all, Jiang's mother felt relieved and started discussing the scarf with Jiang Jiang.

After Mother Jiang prepared a table of dishes, Father Jiang and Grandpa Jiang also came back.

The whole family sat around the table neatly again.

"Come on, let's have a drink to celebrate the return of the boss from his trip!" Father Jiang raised his glass excitedly.

Everyone else responded with smiles on their faces, except Grandma Jiang.

"Mom, what's wrong?" asked Father Jiang.

Grandma Jiang then spoke, "What's wrong? Ask your daughter."

Father Jiang quickly looked at Jiang Jiang, "What happened to you?"

Jiang Jiang shrugged innocently, "I'm fine."

Grandma Jiang was furious when she saw Jiang Jiang. "She brought me a scarf, and I said a few words to her, and she snatched it away from me. Which granddaughter treats her grandmother like this? I can't say anything to her."

"Hurry up and apologize to your grandma!" Father Jiang said without hesitation.

"Don't blame Jiang Jiang for this. It was your mother who did it. Jiang Jiang brought her things out of his heart, but she complained about it!" Jiang's mother spoke quickly.

Father Jiang was immediately in trouble again.

"I can't stay in this house any longer. When this damn girl is not at home, I stay at home comfortably. When she comes back, she makes me so angry that I almost have a heart attack!"

Jiang Jiang looked at Grandma Jiang who was using the same old trick again and slowly picked up a piece of fish and put it into his mouth.

"Grandma, why don't you go live with your aunt? Her house is bigger than mine, the living standard is higher, and no one will get angry with you. You'll be more comfortable there." Jiang Jiang said with a smile.

After being away for twenty days, her biggest improvement was that she learned to smile. It was no longer the reserved and shy smile she had before, but a confident and bright smile.

Grandma Jiang looked at Jiang Jiang, who was smiling brightly, and felt a sharp pain in her heart. Then her eyes blurred and she lost consciousness.
