Chapter 28: Lava Volcano Red Fox
The fluffy and smooth red hairs gently brush against the skin, bringing a soft touch.
"It's an orc."
Long suddenly jumped up and shouted, "Why is he grabbing people randomly? Can't he just crawl out on his own?"
Chen Shuang looked at the red fox orc in front of her, most of its body buried in the sand. After crying for help, the other party was completely silent, leaving only its fluffy tail loosely wrapped around her ankle.
She took a step to the side.
The tail suddenly fell to the ground with a drooping sound, and the bright red fur was buried in the sand again, turning gray.
The orc was completely unconscious.
Chen Shuang gave Long a look, and Lilitan let out a few reluctant hums from his nose. After a while, he stretched out his claws to hook the unconscious orc's clothes, and slowly exerted force to pull him out of the sand.
This is a young orc.
A platinum-colored band was tied around her forehead, and small golden bells dangled from her loose, fiery red hair, jingling as it swayed. Her pointed, furry fox ears clung to her head, giving her a somewhat submissive air.
Following the dragon's movements, the red fox orc finally broke free from the sand.
He gasped violently on the spot, like a person who was about to suffocate and finally got oxygen. His lungs contracted rapidly, and he tried hard to squeeze fresh air into his respiratory tract.
After coughing violently for a minute, he finally calmed down slowly.
Those amber eyes were gleaming with moisture. Her fingers covered the lower half of her face, and she looked at Chen Shuang hazily. Even her voice was tender: "Did you save me?"
Chen Shuang's eyes moved slightly.
Something is wrong.
The dragon immediately spread its wings and blocked Shen Shuang's way, using its huge body to separate her from the malicious guy.
"I dug you out of the ground," the dragon's eyes turned into dangerous vertical pupils.
Lilitan was extremely dissatisfied. He looked at the fox pretending to be weak with undisguised hostility. He bared his teeth and said, "I don't need you to repay me. The best reward is to just leave quickly."
The red fox shrank back, looked at Chen Shuang timidly, and explained, "I have no bad intentions. If you hate me, I will leave immediately."
He pursed his lips and tried to sit up with his arms, but he overestimated his physical condition and fell to the ground due to a loss of strength. His clothes were torn apart, revealing his calves with obvious bloodstains.
There were large bruises on the legs, especially on the back of the calves, which had begun to bleed.
The red fox lowered his head and quickly covered his wound with his clothes: "Sorry, I will be able to leave soon."
He looked up and glanced at Long quickly: "Please wait a moment, please don't be angry."
Long suffered the loss silently.
Long: "You you you..."
Long Qi spread his wings so wide that he couldn't even speak clearly. He spoke incoherently for a long time, then turned his head to Chen Shuang with a look that said, "Priest, say something."
Chen Shuang: "Ahem."
She looked at the red fox and suggested, "It's a bit deliberate. It would be better to be more restrained."
The red fox paused, his ears drooping. "I know none of you will like me."
Chen Shuang: "Well, the paint on the wound was rubbed off."
"No way?"
The red fox immediately lifted up his coat and examined his calf. The lifelike wound was intact, and even had a slight bruise from being buried in the sand for so long.
Just when he felt relieved, the red fox's ears moved slightly, and he looked straight at Chen Shuang with clear eyes.
Got discovered.
"How did you find out?"
Simply throwing off its delicate disguise, the red fox revealed its sharp fangs, and its watery eyes became unbridled and flamboyant.
He brushed the dirt off his body and stood up straight up. His movements were smooth and agile, without any trace of his previous weakness.
The amber vertical pupils looked straight at Chen Shuang: "I thought I disguised it well."
The system made a "ding dong" sound.
You met a fox who is good at disguise.
[A confident fox, a charming fox, a beautiful fox, but more people would like to call her the only successor to the God of Cunning]
[The fox said: Shh, I'm going to start lying]
Chen Shuang: Should I say that the acting was a bit exaggerated from beginning to end?
To save the other person's face, she thought for a moment and said, "There is still a small flaw, and I happened to find it."
The fox felt relieved, looked at Chen Shuang, and said seriously: "Then you are really lucky."
Chen Shuang: “…”
I haven't seen the cunning yet, but the first three traits are quite obvious, especially the first one.
He raised his fiery red ears high and folded his arms: "Just now I was just testing whether you are as wise as those elves said."
"Human, you have only passed the first test," the fox said, "but that doesn't mean you can become my partner now."
"But as a reward, you can touch my tail."
The fox coughed lightly, and its fluffy tail slowly touched Chen Shuang's hand.
The texture is like fine new snow, which collapses softly when touched. The fluffy hair fills every inch of the hand, and the warm warmth gradually passes over.
The white tip of the fox's tail curled up, and it seemed that it didn't like being touched by strangers.
He quickly tucked his tail back in, his ears slouched back, and he looked a little uncomfortable.
"Being my partner is not an easy thing. You have to accept all kinds of harsh tests," the fox said to himself. "There will be a second, third, and fourth test next. You must be prepared."
The fox glanced at Chen Shuang secretly and found that she was also looking at him seriously. When their eyes met, he immediately took a step back and said calmly, "There are many creatures who want to be my partners. Everyone wants to be friends with me and touch my tail..."
The fox's voice gradually faded away.
So, please don’t refuse.
The bright eyes seemed to be shrouded in a layer of haze, and the fox's pointed ears slowly bent down.
No one wants to be friends with him.
Never.
"Okay, come and test me seriously the second time."
The sincere human seriously considered their next meeting. She thought for a moment and said, "But don't bury yourself in the sand. It's hard to get out."
The fox's furry pointed ears rose again, and he said nonchalantly, "I'm so smart that nothing will happen to me. You should think carefully about how to deal with the next test."
He left with exceptionally brisk steps, the tinkling of bells echoing. His body transformed into a small, dainty red fox, nimbly slithering across the sand. He paused briefly in the distance, glancing back at Chen Shuang. Upon being spotted, he froze, his back fur slightly standing up, and then quickly turned and fled.
Chen Shuang watched the fox disappear from afar and commented, "There's huge room for improvement in his acting."
Same as her faction stability value.
The prophet elf's propaganda efforts were unexpectedly strong, and anyone who was even slightly related to him was fooled by him. I wonder what kind of creatures he will encounter in the future.
But what is more important right now is the Dragon Clan Festival.
She stretched her shoulders and said to Long, "Let's go."
The field of view is raised again.
This time the journey was finally without any interruptions. Chen Shuang followed the dragon to a huge red canyon. The red ground and walls that seemed to be built of flames formed various tall buildings in the canyon.
Look into the distance.
A huge mountain range arches out a red mountain, with thick smoke billowing from the top of the mountain. From time to time, a few strands of hot magma burst out straightly, and the bright viscous liquid is thrown high into the air and then falls heavily, exploding like a spectacle of fireworks.
This is the root cause of the perennial heat in the south.
"We're here!" The dragon slowly landed.
Chen Shuang looked forward.
In front of them was a huge stone block that resembled an arch. It was suitable for the huge size of the dragons, but it was extremely shocking to humans.
In other words, epic.
There were not many dragons at the entrance of the canyon. Occasionally, when a dragon passed by, it would first glance at the human-shaped Chen Shuang with surprise, and then turn back and whisper to its companions.
"Am I dazzled? There's a dragon that looks like a human."
"I didn't sleep well last night. I'll feel refreshed after taking a nap."
Even though it was just a whisper, it was still super loud.
Lilitan explained quietly beside him, "Few people come to Dragon Valley. The last person who came was a dragon hunter who was put on trial, and..."
Before he could finish his words, two people suddenly appeared not far away and ran towards them, smiling and waving at them.
Shen Shuang blinked.
Is there still human activity in Dragon Valley?
As if he understood her doubt, Lilitan reluctantly introduced: "This is my aunt and uncle."
He stared at the two of them warily, as if guarding against some impending scene.
Sure enough, seeing the black dragonfly so nervous, the two people who approached looked at each other and nodded in tacit understanding.
The beautiful red-haired woman covered her mouth and laughed, "Lilitan was very worried before he went to invite you. He had a nightmare at night. He dreamed that you would not come, and he woke up from his bed crying in the middle of the night."
The handsome man with silver hair chimed in, "Most of the dragon clan heard it, and one even asked the next day if it was someone's newborn cub crying."
Aunt: "Although Lilitan is almost an adult, it's rare to still have such a childlike innocence."
Uncle: "That's right, everyone likes such a cute Lilittan."
Having been exposed again, Long stamped his feet anxiously: "You're ruining my show again!"
The two adult dragons laughed even more happily.
"Alright, alright," the red dragon soothed the child's heart, then bowed deeply to Chen Shuang, his eyes filled with a bright smile: "Welcome, Your Majesty the Honorable Priest."
"With your participation, this celebration will surely be even more exciting."
Chen Shuang nodded: "My pleasure."
After meticulously arranging all of Chen Shuang's affairs, the busy red dragon left with the silver dragon. She smiled and said, "The celebration officially begins tomorrow. Let Lilitan accompany you around first to see the customs and practices of the dragon tribe."
“I hope you have fun.”
*
Walking along the wide streets of the Dragon Clan, passing by were all towering dragons. Thinking of what had just happened, Chen Shuang asked, "Can dragons actually transform into humans?"
"Of course," Lilitan said, taking slow steps, moving at the same pace as Shen Shuang, "but you have to be an adult to do that."
"My aunt thinks it's respectful to greet you in human form, but for most dragons, dragon form is more familiar and freeing," he said. "Few dragons enjoy roaming the world in human form, and even fewer creatures know about this."
Long thought of something happy, and his voice became cheerful: "I will be an adult soon."
Chen Shuang looked up, a little surprised: "When?"
Long was so happy that he swayed and shouted, "Tomorrow!"
Tomorrow is also the day when the Dragon Clan Festival begins.
No wonder Lilitan insisted on pulling her over, it turned out that the celebration and birthday were on the same day.
It is indeed an important day.
Shen Shuang counted her inventory and asked, "Do you have any gifts you want?"
Although it may not be possible to get it now, but after knowing the needs and then finding a way, we can always make Long satisfied.
Long lowered his head, his eyes shining: "That volcano!"
"That volcano has been there since I was born. It looks terrifying, doesn't it?" Long said mysteriously. "My aunt said young dragons aren't allowed to go near it until they reach adulthood, or they'll be captured and forced to do hard labor hauling goods."
"But I'm almost an adult, and after tomorrow I can go on adventures on the volcano."
Long rarely acted coquettishly: "I have a magical item that can help humans resist high temperatures. Can you come with me?"
That volcano?
Chen Shuang looked at the red mountains in the distance. The high mountains in the middle seemed to be aware of the human gaze and spewed out hot magma as if in a provocative manner.
She lowered her eyes.
It doesn't look good.
