Chapter 71 No. 27, Wutong Lane
Tan Qingying felt a chill run down her spine.
She slowly stood up, clutching her phone, and leaned against the headboard.
Her voice trembled involuntarily, "...Husband, you're back."
She kept her headphones on to prevent the nanny from hearing anything, and the streamer's voice gently reminded her, "Turn off the live stream."
[Ahhhhh, did he realize the person he was connecting with was live? I'm so nervous!]
[Host, think of something quick! We can't let her and the child fall into this man's hands; it's too dangerous!]
[Marrying into a wealthy family is like entering a deep sea; if the person involved had resisted the temptation of a whirlwind marriage, they wouldn't be in this mess today.]
Tan Qingying desperately wanted to run away, but her body was stiff and she couldn't move.
The room lights were instantly turned on, the blinding light stinging Tan Qingying's eyes, causing her pupils to contract sharply involuntarily.
She dared not reveal any flaws, suppressing her inner panic and forcing a smile onto her face.
Song Mingyuan approached with seemingly leisurely steps.
He reached out and affectionately put his arm around Tan Qingying's shoulder, his tone full of doting, "Looking at your phone in the dark isn't good for your eyes. Remember to turn on the light next time, you silly girl."
After saying that, he subtly reached out and casually took the phone from Tan Qingying's hand.
Song Mingyuan narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze quickly sweeping across the phone screen.
On the screen, a parenting expert is eloquently explaining how to cultivate a child's independence.
Tan Qingying swiped away from the live stream as soon as Lu Yao reminded her.
Song Mingyuan smiled and chuckled softly, "It's so late, you should get some rest. You always say you need to get your beauty sleep."
Tan Qingying felt her whole body stiffen, every muscle tense, but she still forced herself to use her usual coquettish tone, "Honey, I can't sleep when you're not home."
Song Mingyuan smiled and lowered his head, gently kissing her forehead. "Now that I'm back, I'll lull you to sleep, okay?"
"good."
Tan Qingying tried to force a smile by curving her eyes, but the smile looked worse than a grimace.
She slowly turned around, her back to Song Mingyuan, lay down on the bed, and closed her eyes.
Song Mingyuan stood by the bed, gazing at her silently, which sent chills down Tan Qingying's spine.
Time seemed to stand still, each second feeling incredibly long.
Finally, Song Mingyuan turned around and walked towards the door.
As the door clicked shut, Tan Qingying sat up abruptly, her forehead covered in a thick layer of cold sweat.
Has he left?
She asked, her voice trembling.
The voice was as soft as a mosquito's buzz, filled with fear.
“No.” Lu Yao’s voice was cold. “He’s outside the door.”
The entire live stream room fell into a deathly silence.
Everyone held their breath, as if afraid that the comments would disturb the terrifying man outside the door.
"Master, please save me." Tan Qingying pleaded desperately, her voice trembling with tears. "I am willing to give my life for you, and I will give you all my possessions."
Lu Yao pondered for a moment before asking, "Do you want to take the child away? I must remind you, what's done is done, fate is sealed."
Tan Qingying was taken aback. "Even if it can't be changed back, I can't let Xiao Chuan stay here and become his bargaining chip in his power grab. Master, I need to take Xiao Chuan away!"
Lu Yao put her index finger to her lips and shushed, "Take it easy."
A minute later, the door was gently pushed open a crack.
Song Mingyuan's figure was hidden in the darkness, his gaze fixed on Tan Qingying's back like a venomous snake.
“He’s spying on you,” Lu Yao said calmly. “However, he’ll soon be too busy to take care of himself.”
Before the words were finished, a loud bang suddenly came from downstairs—
"Bang!"
Song Mingyuan's expression changed drastically, and he turned around and rushed downstairs.
Tan Qingying was still in shock when she heard Lu Yao chuckle softly through her earphones:
“I cleaved the bronze unicorn in his study in two with a single sword stroke. Now, I’ll take advantage of the chaos to escape.”
Without the slightest hesitation, Tan Qingying immediately jumped out of bed, barefoot, and quietly slipped out of the bedroom.
Downstairs, Song Mingyuan was furious at the shattered bronze kylin.
He spent a fortune to buy this from the old Taoist priest to change his luck and accumulate wealth, so how could it suddenly be destroyed?
This is not a good sign!
He roared at the servants, summoning them and questioning them sternly.
Tan Qingying then slipped into Xiao Chuan's room and gently shook her son awake.
"Mom?" Xiao Chuan asked groggily, rubbing his eyes.
"Shh..." Tan Qingying covered his mouth and whispered, "Let's play a game. Now, come with Mom."
Although confused, Ogawa nodded obediently.
Tan Qingying picked him up, slipped out of the villa through the back door, and headed straight for the garage.
“Master of a Thousand Years…” she said in a trembling voice into the headset, “Where should I go?”
Lu Yao's voice was steady and strong: "Drive to No. 27 Wutong Lane. There's a teahouse called Forget-Worry Teahouse there. The owner will help you."
That's Ye Zhirou's business.
Tan Qingying's car disappeared into the night.
Half an hour later, in the Song family villa, Song Mingyuan stood in the empty children's room, his face terribly gloomy.
He took out his phone and dialed a number: "Find them! Search the entire city and bring them back!"
At this point, to prevent anyone with ulterior motives from seeing and reporting Tan Qingying's whereabouts to Song Mingyuan, the live stream had already been ended.
Viewers in the live stream, despite their regret, also understood that the safety of the mother and child was now of paramount importance.
Tan Qingying and Xiao Chuan hid in Ye Zhirou's Forget-Worry Teahouse.
The teahouse is located on an old street.
Under the eaves of the house with its blue bricks and gray tiles, several dim lanterns hang, their light swaying and giving a sense of tranquility and peace.
However, Tan Qingying's heart was always hanging on the edge of a knife.
Even a single leaf falling outside the window would startle her and make her heart race.
Ye Zhirou personally received her and, seeing Tan Qingying's nervous appearance, gently comforted her, "Don't worry, the master has a way."
Tan Qingying looked up at the elegant woman in front of her, her eyes filled with surprise: "You are... Ms. Ye, who was said to have been mentally impaired for ten years but suddenly woke up recently?"
This was a topic of conversation among the ladies during many afternoon teas.
Ye Zhirou nodded gently, a complicated look flashing in her eyes: "If it weren't for Master Qiannian, I would still be in ignorance, while my ex-husband and his mistress are still squandering my family fortune."
After hearing this, Tan Qingying felt even more trust in Lu Yao.
She looked helplessly at her phone, which had already been added to Lu Yao's personal contact list, and asked anxiously, "Master Qiannian, what should we do next?"
Lu Yao's voice was calm and rational: "Get a paternity test done and seek protection from the child's biological father."
Tan Qingying was startled, and the image of her uncle Song Ziyao's serious face instantly flashed into her mind, causing her to shiver.
Then she thought about how they were supposed to be husband and wife in their original destiny, and a strange sense of unease welled up in her heart, making her feel uncomfortable all over.
"Is this the only way?" she asked cautiously.
On the screen, Lu Yao looked at her calmly, "Ms. Tan, for the past ten years you have been living the life of a wealthy socialite, without any ability to protect yourself or be independent."
After hearing this, Tan Qingying remained silent for a moment before finally shutting her mouth.
Although she felt a little down, she still decided to follow Lu Yao's arrangements.
