Chapter 111

Chapter 111

"Aren't you going?" Jiang Li raised an eyebrow slightly, a half-smile on his face.

The five tickets were still warm.

Two of them are for Xiao Shuwei; two are for Xie Qiao, and the other is for her.

Guan Nan clutched the ticket tightly, only then realizing belatedly that the extra one was for her. She gave an awkward laugh, then looked down and put the ticket into her bag: "I'm going."

At the same time, she glanced at the date on the ticket: December 30, 2023.

Today is October 31st.

There are still two months until the event.

Guan Nan stuffed the ticket into the compartment, a sentence flashed through his mind in a flash, he looked up and put away his random thoughts and sat up, and then saw Xie Shuwan coming over to confront him unconvinced.

Faced with Xie Shuwan's question, "Don't you think so?", Guan Nan gave a dry laugh, while her mind wandered to another matter.

She lived alone for many years, and it wasn't until her twenties that she truly learned how to get along with people and understand the real ways of human relationships and the art of conversation in the secular world.

But those dull and boring days, seemingly glamorous, were actually filled with boredom, loneliness, and a sense of emptiness and confusion. This was completely different from the vibrant world that Jiang Li had once brought into her.

It was this person's reappearance that pulled her out of the days when she was bored, lonely, and confused, which had driven her to despair. He gradually cleansed away the dullness and tedium that had accumulated on her.

Guan Nan sat on the sofa, looked up at the two who were arguing over the admission tickets, and suddenly started to fight.

"I don't believe you. Let me talk to her." Xie Shuwan was willing to risk everything for her cousin.

Jiang Li switched hands to hold the phone, using his other arm to block her movements, and said impatiently, "What did you say?"

"I need the ticket," Xie Shuwan said, standing on tiptoe to grab the phone. "My brother's lifelong happiness is tied up in my hands. If you're not going to help me, then I'll have to do it myself."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Li dodged her movement and said speechlessly, "What did you bet with him on this time?"

Xie Shuwan brandished her arms and shouted, "Tickets!"

Seeing this, Lin Rui walked to the side without stopping them, saying, "If she can't get tickets from you, she'll go sell them."

"·····"

"·····"

Jiang Li laughed angrily: "Do you even have a brain?"

"What do you care if I have it or not?" Xie Shuwan said angrily, turning to the person who only talked but didn't act, "Lin Rui, aren't you going to help me!"

Lin Rui pretended to help, but his actions were all feigned.

In an instant, under Xie Shuwan's slap, Jiang Li lost his balance, and his phone fell to the ground with a thud.

The air suddenly became very quiet.

At this moment, Xie Shuwan raised her hand in mid-air, her eyes wide open, at a loss. Lin Rui, who was next to her, picked up the phone and handed it to Xie Shuwan, indicating that she should give it to Jiang Li.

Xie Shuwan took it, pulled out a tissue, and the screen sensor automatically lit up as she wiped the glass.

"Um..." Xie Shuwan's expression was a little strange. She glanced at Jiang Li and then at Guan Nan, and lowered her head guiltily, saying in a low voice, "Let me check if there are any problems with the back."

As she spoke, she removed the phone case, and Jiang Li didn't stop her.

What was hidden inside the shell was unexpectedly exposed to the light of day.

Guan Nan was about to pick it up when she saw the half of the waist belt that had slipped off, and she froze, unable to react in time.

The blank back side clearly had large characters written on it.

"A young girl's heart flutters silently, but if she receives news of it one day, she can pierce through clouds and shatter rocks."

My eyes flickered slightly, and before I could look away, my peripheral vision caught sight of a decorating label lying not far away. It showed signs of age from years of wear and tear, yet it still revealed the owner's love for it.

Guan Nan's fingertips trembled as she picked them up.

The indescribable feeling crept into her heart once more, and even the simple act of looking up suddenly became incredibly sluggish and slow.

The spotlights on half the wall were turned off, leaving only the spotlights around the plaster wall, casting a dim, white light in the room. In this light, she could barely make out Jiang Li's features.

The world before my eyes suddenly became blurry and transparent.

Guan Nan tilted her head back, looking at Jiang Li who was looking at her, unsure of how to react.

Jiang Li stood beside her, silently watching her. His dark gaze gradually became obscure and profound in the passage of time, yet the upturned corners of his eyes carried a tenderness that made one uncontrollably fall into his arms.

Warmth welled up in my eyes, and my thoughts suddenly collapsed.

His eyes were lowered, his features were dimly lit, and only his prominent Adam's apple could be seen slowly moving beneath his taut jaw.

When he spoke again, Jiang Li's voice was low and hoarse with tension: "You're not giving it to me again?"

again.

Guan Nan's heart skipped a beat, and she could barely speak.

It was at this moment that she suddenly remembered the night Yu Shu proposed, and the bracelet she had dropped under the clock tower. Jiang Li, just like her, had picked up the bracelet with the same self-righteousness.

In a daze, it seemed as if, after going around in circles, they had returned to that night.

She blinked her blurry eyes, her voice trembling uncontrollably, and raised her hand to him, "Your things."

Jiang Li accepted it without hesitation.

But Guan Nan didn't let go, and called out his name in a soft voice: "Jiang Li".

Jiang Li's eyebrows relaxed, and he grinned broadly: "What?"

"You—" Guan Nan was so bold for the first time, in front of so many people, without the slightest fear or weakness, as if she stubbornly wanted to get an answer, "Don't you have anything to say?"

Jiang Li stared at the thing in her hand for a long time.

In the end, he just smiled, said nothing, raised his hand to cup the back of her head, and buried her face in his side.

Jiang Li's limbs stiffened noticeably and his body tensed up when he felt the dampness on her clothes. His gaze was fixed on her dark hair, and when he heard her say, "You really don't want to tell me anything," he subtly tugged at his lips.

What to say, and how to say it.

He said that for more than two thousand nights, he relied on only a few photos and his almost stubborn persistence to get to where he is today, but he still feels anxious and uncertain about her in the middle of the night.

Or perhaps, after learning that she was at Green Camphor Tree, he tried every means to find friends there to pull strings and watch over her from a place she couldn't see, while his heart was filled with endless fear and anxiety.

He wanted to appear before her, yet he was afraid she wouldn't want to see him. He wanted to provide her with endless conveniences, yet he was afraid she wouldn't accept them and would drift further and further away from him. He wanted to ask her why she left so heartlessly without even saying goodbye, and he wanted to ask her if she had even the slightest feeling for him.

Even just a little bit, just a tiny bit would be enough.

But he didn't dare; he didn't have the courage to appear before her.

Even after leaving Green Camphor Tree, every single day in Beijing, he couldn't stop worrying about her.

But Jiang Li said nothing, gently patted her head, and said casually, "What's there to say?"

The world suddenly fell silent and shrouded in darkness.

Guan Nan could hear nothing but these seven simple words echoing in his mind, and tears streamed down his face uncontrollably.

She was never someone who relied on luck, nor did she believe that fate would bestow any great and bright gifts upon her in the future, nor did she even believe that there would be anyone stubbornly waiting for her in the same place.

She didn't think she was worthy, let alone that the person standing on the other side would be Jiang Li.

But that person was indeed Jiang Li.

There was no one else but him.

There won't be any.

In her twenty-odd years, she has met many people, good and bad, beautiful and ugly, smart and stupid, wealthy and poor, but she has never been moved by any of them.

Guan Nan was certain that she would never fall in love with anyone else in her life except Jiang Li.

Guan Nan hugged him tightly, her head still buried in his waist and abdomen, her voice muffled and warm, "Thank you."

Thank you, thank you for liking me.

Jiang Li, thank you.
