Chapter 76 Shen Xiujuan

When Shen Lang opened his eyes, Yu Xian'er and Shuang'er had already prepared the meal.

After washing up, Shen Lang was about to eat when an uninvited guest arrived at his home.

"Little San, you're back." A middle-aged woman walked into Shen Lang's house and greeted him with a smile.

Shen Lang glanced at her and replied calmly, "Aunt."

The visitor was Shen Lang's aunt, Shen Xiujuan.

Shen Lang felt neither goodwill nor hatred towards this aunt.

When she was fighting for custody of herself, Shen Xiujuan was the one who shouted the loudest.

After he entered the welfare home, Shen Xiujuan never came to visit him even once.

When Shen Lang and his cousin Zhang Jiayuan took the college entrance examination together in the same examination room, his aunt watched him come out of the examination room without even glancing at him.

He had never contacted this aunt of his own accord. If he hadn't returned to Nanhui Village, he might have even forgotten that she existed.

Shen Xiujuan took a stool and sat down next to Shen Lang, smiling as she said, "San'er, why don't you come to visit your aunt when you're back? Your aunt could cook you a simple meal."

Shen Lang placed his chopsticks on the plate, his face expressionless, and his words revealing neither joy nor sorrow: "Aunt, is there something you need from me?"

"Um, I heard you work at a five-star hotel. Do you think you could find a job for your cousin there?" Shen Xiujuan said with a fawning smile.

“Your cousin has been out of school for seven or eight years and still can’t find a stable job.”

Shen Lang sneered inwardly. He knew about his cousin, Zhang Jiwei. After Zhang Jiwei graduated, Shen Xiujuan and her husband Zhang Yaozu arranged for him to work in the finance department of a folk village run by their relatives.

He made over three million yuan in accounting errors in one month, leading people to believe that Zhang Jiwei had embezzled the money, and he almost ended up in court.

After checking the accounts, it became clear that he hadn't embezzled the money, but rather made a mistake.

If someone truly lacks competence, they will be dismissed according to their employment contract.

After that, he worked for several companies until he was blacklisted by both X City and D City, at which point he gave up on finding employment.

I've been unemployed at home for two years now, living off my parents every day.

“I resigned from the hotel a month ago,” Shen Lang said, directly rejecting Shen Xiujuan’s request.

Canglang Group and Guosheng Group are not dumping grounds for all sorts of people.

Upon hearing this, Shen Xiujuan's expression instantly changed. She stopped smiling and said with a livid face, "Xiao San, you can't do this. The car the company provided for you is still in use. How can you lie through your teeth?"

Shen Lang sneered and said, "I bought that myself, it wasn't provided by the company. I'm afraid I can't help you with work-related matters."

"Chen San, how can you be so heartless? Your cousin treated you so well when you were little. You can't just turn your back on him now that you're successful." Shen Xiujuan's voice became extremely sharp, echoing in the empty living room.

She shouldn't have mentioned it, because the mention of his childhood reminded Shen Lang of how his cousin Zhang Jiwei, taking advantage of his age, would often gang up with other children of the same age in Zhangjia Village to bully him.

However, Shen Lang did not argue with Shen Xiujuan, as pointless debate was a waste of his breath.

Seeing Shen Lang engrossed in his food and ignoring her, Shen Xiujuan slammed her hand on the mahogany table and said, "Shen San, when your parents were hit by a car and died, you ate a lot of food from our family. We even helped with their funeral arrangements. How come the Shen family has such an ungrateful wretch like you?"

Upon hearing this, Shen Lang calmly put down his chopsticks, pointed to his front door, and coldly uttered, "Get out."

"Damn it, Shen San, what the hell are you so arrogant about?" At this moment, Shen Lang's cousin walked in from outside, pointed at Shen Lang and cursed, "If you curse my mother again, I'll fucking...

Before he could finish speaking, a silver chopstick appeared at Zhang Jiwei's neck. Shuang'er said in an icy tone, "If you utter another word, I'll kill you."

Seeing the sharp, needle-like chopsticks pressed against his neck, Zhang Jiwei didn't even bother to look at Shuang'er in front of him and immediately shut his mouth.

Upon seeing this, Shen Xiujuan immediately stood up and shrieked, "What are you doing? What are you doing?"

Shen Lang slowly stood up and walked to Shen Xiujuan's side, saying, "You have no face to mention my parents. Grandpa passed away early, and when Grandma was seriously ill and hospitalized and needed money, neither you nor my second aunt contributed a single penny. It was because our family was poor that my mother borrowed money from my uncle's house to pay for Grandma's medical treatment."

“You didn’t come to take care of Grandma for even half a day when she was paralyzed in bed.”

"After Grandma passed away, you were the first to run and search through her wardrobe to see if she had hidden any money."

"After my parents were in a car accident, you took me to your house for a meal. But we ate your leftovers from two days ago."

“When my parents were buried, the Shen family of Nanhui Village organized the funeral. What did you and your second aunt do here? All you did was eat, drink, take gifts, and share the money.”

"Have you forgotten what happened seventeen years ago?"

Shen Lang looked at Shen Xiujuan with a sneer: "But it doesn't matter, I remember it. I still clearly remember how you and Second Aunt fought in our yard over dividing the money."

Shen Xiujuan was speechless after hearing Shen Lang's words. Trembling, she pointed at Shen Lang and cursed, "Fine, Shen San. You've grown up and your wings have hardened."

Shen Lang ignored Shen Xiujuan, walked slowly to Zhang Jiwei, and sneered, "Cousin, it's not that I don't want to help you, it's just that I dare not use you. Being blacklisted by the two major cities in S Province is something even I'm afraid of."

"Shen San." Zhang Jiwei dared not move at all at this moment, and could only grit his teeth and squeeze out Shen Lang's nickname.

Shen Lang patted Shuang'er on the shoulder and said, "Alright, Shuang'er, let him go. Don't let him piss himself in fright and ruin our meal."

"Yes, young master."

Then, in a flash, Shuang'er stood behind Shen Lang.

Shen Lang stretched out his right hand, pointed to his front door, and said to Shen Xiujuan, "Do you want me to ask you to leave?"

"You just wait." Shen Xiujuan threw down a vicious sentence, then pulled up Zhang Jiwei, who was standing there too afraid to move, and quickly walked out of Shen Lang's house.

Influenced by Shen Xiujuan and Zhang Jiwei, Shen Lang lost his appetite.

After sitting back down at the table and taking a couple of sips of soup, the two women cleaned up the leftover food on the table.

The three then drove away from Nanhui Village.

However, just as Shen Lang and the other two were about to leave, Shen Huan suddenly rushed over, bent over and panting, and said, "Third...Third Brother...you must...go to Uncle's grave."
