Chapter 27 Do you really want to hear it?

The little girl stood on one leg, trembling slightly, and simply grabbed the hem of his clothes.

Her little face was flushed as she looked up at him, her big, dark, shiny eyes full of mischievous light.

Did you hear everything I just said?

The man's hand was loosely placed behind the girl's back, allowing her to grab it.

Upon hearing this, the hand supporting her back stiffened slightly, his thin lips pursed awkwardly, and a few unnatural glints flashed in his usually dark and calm eyes. He spoke in a low, deep voice, "Mm!"

Gong Ning's eyes lit up, and she was about to speak when a deep, magnetic male voice suddenly sounded above her head.

"Feel sorry!"

The moment the words left her mouth, Gong Ning froze on the spot.

Even Yan Jingzhou was stunned. A few surprised and somewhat incredulous looks flashed in his calm, dark eyes.

Perhaps because it was the first time in his life that he had apologized to a girl, the man's voice, though still pleasant and alluring, was still heard by Gong Ning with remarkable sensitivity. She could hear the unnatural stiffness and a hint of dryness in his voice.

Gong Ning was so stunned that she forgot to react for a moment.

The air between them was silent for a few seconds.

The next second, Gong Ning suddenly realized what Yan Jingzhou had just said, and looked up in shock with wide eyes.

But she found that the man who had been standing in front of her had somehow gotten to sit on the sofa and was now opening a food box and placing the food on the coffee table.

His face was refined and serene, just like his usual aloof and indifferent demeanor.

His expression and his entire demeanor were so calm that it was as if he hadn't just uttered those two words.

Gong Ning clicked her tongue inwardly.

Her personality remains as introverted as ever...

A glint of mischief flashed in his dark eyes as he conceived a plan to tease Yan Jingzhou.

She excitedly hopped onto the sofa on one leg, sat down next to the man, and smiled like a newly trained fox, her bright eyes full of excitement.

She demurely extended a finger and gently poked the man's side. Yan Jingzhou's hand suddenly stopped, and a dark glint flashed in his eyes.

The little girl, caught up in the excitement, didn't notice anything amiss and instead poked him even harder, "Yan Jingzhou, what did you just say? I didn't quite catch it. Could you... say it again?"

The man pursed his lips, turned his head to look at her, and his quiet eyes carried a hint of warning.

With just that one look, Gong Ning's smile became even brighter.

After a few seconds of silence, her long, upturned eyelids drooped, her pink lips pouted in grievance, and even her delicate, white fingers intertwined helplessly.

Yan Jingzhou couldn't stand her like this. He knew the little girl was doing it on purpose, but he just couldn't help it...

The man's Adam's apple bobbed involuntarily as he looked down at her intently. "You really want to hear?"

A glint flashed in Gong Ning's lowered eyes as her intertwined fingers rapidly tapped the phone screen.

She looked up at him expectantly, "Mmm!"

The man's long, slender fingers tensed slightly as he suddenly reached out and clamped down on Gong Ning's fair chin.

He leaned down and touched her lips.

Gong Ning's eyes widened suddenly, her body stiffened instantly, and she stood there dumbfounded, unsure of how to react.

After a long while, the air between the two became calm.

The man spoke softly in the girl's ear in a hoarse voice, "I'm sorry!"

Gentle, mild, and with an indescribable...teasing quality!

Gong Ning's soft, pink earlobes flushed red in an instant. She quickly covered her ears and backed away, her bright, moist eyes brimming with anger as she glared at the man before her.
