Chapter 9 You're right!

Yan Jingzhou carried Gong Ning out, and a luxurious yet understated car pulled up in front of them.

The man's thin lips pressed tightly together, his dark, deep eyes lightly falling on the person in his arms. His deep voice, accompanied by the cool breeze of the summer night, carried a slight chill as it gently entered Gong Ning's ears.

"Where are you going now? I'll take you there!"

The little head in his arms stirred, and a soft, rustling sound rang out, tinged with sadness, "I don't know, I don't know where to go! I have nowhere to go!"

"Come to my place first? Just for the night?"

"Um!"

Ji Chen, with great perceptiveness, opened the car door for them.

Yan Jingzhou carried Gong Ning directly into the car, and as he lowered his head, a subtle smile appeared on his lips.

She did not reject him.

Then, as if remembering something, his aloof expression suddenly darkened.

He paused for a moment, then used his arms to gently lift Gong Ning, who had been sitting on his lap, onto the car seat.

His dark eyes, mingled with the dim night light inside the car, appeared even deeper and more unfathomable.

The neon lights outside the car window were dazzling, much like the city's vibrant and bustling atmosphere.

But it seems that the light just can't penetrate Gong Ning's heart.

The man suddenly tensed his jawline, his prominent Adam's apple taking on a touch of ascetic sensuality in the dim night, his expression becoming increasingly solemn, and the air temperature inside the carriage plummeted.

As if afraid of frightening Gong Ning, he quickly suppressed his aura in just a few moments.

His large, well-defined hand rested on his collar, loosening his tie slightly. His long, slender, and fair fingers stood out against the black tie in the dimly lit carriage.

It seems that this can slightly alleviate the frustration in my heart.

After those few simple words before getting into the car, Gong Ning didn't speak again. She just sat quietly, her gaze blank and somewhat wooden.

In that lifetime, the night before she actually set fire to and destroyed the Gong family, Gong Qiaoyu came to her.

He, who always loved to show off, was wearing a wrinkled black shirt, his eyes were bloodshot, and his face was haggard. He grabbed her shoulders and roared, like a trapped beast crying out in despair, begging her to stop and stop all his crazy behavior.

She had promised him she wouldn't do it again, so why did she still lose control and kill them in the end?

She never intended to kill anyone, so why...?

Taking a deep breath, Gong Ning looked up. The car was dark, with no lights on.

Just then, a bright ray of light shone into the carriage, allowing her to see the scene inside, including the man sitting beside her. His eyes were slightly closed, and his handsome face was serene.

For some reason, Gong Ningxin felt a slight pang of unease, a kind of indescribable discomfort.

As they always did, she snuggled closer to him affectionately, her small hand naturally reaching for his arm, but was suddenly grabbed in mid-air by a strong, muscular hand.

Gong Ning was taken aback and looked at him in confusion, "What... is wrong?"

The air was slightly still for a few seconds.

The man released her hand, his closed eyelids remaining motionless, his voice as indifferent as ever, yet seemingly tinged with a chill.

"There are no outsiders here, and the Zhou family isn't here either. You... don't need to put on an act!"

Gong Ning paused, a hint of disbelief flickering in her eyes.

She stared at his cold face for a few seconds, gritted her teeth, and suddenly grabbed his arm in a coquettish manner, fiercely glaring at him.

"Who's putting on an act? Everything I said at the banquet was true! So you never believed me from the start?"

The man suddenly opened his eyes, meeting her fiery gaze directly. His eyes were calm and deep, and the corners of his lips were slightly upturned.

"I saved you, and you tore your clothes and accused me of molesting you in public! You even sent me to the police station!"

Gong Ning: "......."

You might not believe it, but back then I was young and reckless, and I was terrified of you!

"Zhou Yin sent people to kidnap you, intending to rape and then kill you. I sent people to protect you and escort you home, but you took my people to the police station and called them perverts!"

Gong Ning: "......."

You might be angry if I tell you this, but back then I was a coward, and your subordinates were a complete idiot!

"You're so clumsy that you get injured every other day. I treated your wounds, but you were so scared that you fainted. The first thing you did when you woke up was to call the police!"

Gong Ning: "......."

You might find this absurd, but back then I would faint at the sight of blood, and your appearance at that time was rather coincidental.

"So far, I've become a regular at the police station because of you, and you've also successfully become a familiar face there!"

Gong Ning: "......."

You might not believe it, but I always ended up making things worse back then. There were just too many coincidences between us!

"You've always resisted me getting close to you, let alone touching you, but today you're acting strangely, acting all cute and throwing yourself into my arms. If you say you're sincere, tsk, Gong Ning, do you think that's believable? I was a little surprised that the person you called the police to arrest today wasn't me!"

Gong Ning: "......"

To be honest, she really screwed him over badly!

She was filled with remorse. Sure enough, amnesia can be deadly. Look at the awful things she's done!

Judging from this, he won't believe anything she says now.

What should we do?

She still wants to cling to him for the rest of her life!

Suddenly, her eyes lit up. Yan Jingzhou couldn't believe that she had lost her memory, but she had regained it!

Gong Ning shifted several times, snuggling close to him, and said softly, "A-Zhou, I remember everything, I remember everything. I'm sorry, I forgot you! I didn't mean to, something went wrong with my body!"

Yan Jingzhou's gaze suddenly turned still. He lowered his head to meet her bright eyes, and his hand on the other side moved almost imperceptibly. His slender, fair fingers curled slightly, then slowly unfurled, and he raised his hand to push her away.

"Tell me, what is the purpose of doing this?"

Gong Ning: "......"

That jerk, he still doesn't believe me.

Sure enough, Yan Jingzhou is the kind of person who will dote on you and be completely obedient when he wants to, but if you anger him, he will also be ruthless when he rejects you!

Gong Ning pouted and removed her hand from the man's arm, looking at the ever-changing scenery outside the window with a melancholy expression.

She didn't even notice that the man's thin lips straightened slightly and his eyes deepened because of her action.

And so, the carriage fell silent again, until the car smoothly entered Xingzhan Garden and drove along the clean asphalt road toward the brightly lit villa area in the distance.

Gong Ning suddenly spoke up: "You're right!"

The man stiffened, his Adam's apple bobbing almost imperceptibly.

Sure enough, she's the little girl who's sent him to the police station time and time again—she's full of tricks.

He almost believed it, but luckily he remained calm this time.

However, my already bad mood seemed to worsen even further.
