Chapter 288 Dispute

Grandma Jiang has now come to her senses; she would rather not have a great-grandson than have an unworthy one.

If one granddaughter-in-law is this difficult to deal with, imagine if another one comes along; the whole family will never have a good life.

Jiang Nuan remained noncommittal about what Old Lady Huang said.

The old lady was furious because her daughter-in-law was unreliable, so she took her anger out on her great-grandson. If there had been a child in the old house, the old lady would have treasured him dearly.

Just as he was about to offer some words of comfort, he heard Sister-in-law Huang angrily shout, "Dashan's wife, if you feel that your family can't accept you, go back to your parents' home."

“Mother,” Huangshan’s daughter-in-law looked at her mother-in-law with a wronged expression, “I’m also doing this for the Huang family’s descendants. Can’t you wait a while before brewing the medicine?”

The baby only coughed a few times; there's no need to rush to prepare medicine.

She, on the other hand, couldn't wait any longer; she needed to get pregnant as soon as possible to truly establish herself in the Huang family.

"You're already causing trouble even before you're pregnant. What will you do when you are?" Sister-in-law Huang didn't buy it. She stared straight at her daughter-in-law and said sternly, "Stop talking nonsense and give me the casserole."

While the two were locked in a stalemate, Jiang Nuan rushed over, "Sister-in-law, what's going on?"

“The mountain woman is up to her old tricks again,” Sister-in-law Huang said coldly. “I wanted to use a clay pot to boil the medicine, but she refused and insisted on boiling her own black dog blood.”

"What?" Jiang Nuan was shocked by these words.

What kind of crazy move is this?

Do you think that boiling black dog blood in a clay pot will create a fertility potion?

“Mother,” Huangshan’s wife insisted, “Why don’t you give in to me? My baby’s cough isn’t serious. I’m waiting to use it. People say that black dog blood must absorb the five elements (metal, wood, water, fire, and earth). I’ve already tried the bamboo tube and the iron pot. All that’s missing is this clay pot.”

She's having such a hard time, why can't her mother understand?

Having children isn't just for yourself; it benefits the Huang family more, doesn't it?

"Nonsense!" Sister-in-law Huang cursed in exasperation, "You've boiled black dog blood, how can this clay pot still be used?"

If such filth stains the clay pot, who would dare to brew medicine?

“It’s alright,” Jiang Nuan smoothed things over, “I can take it home, cook it, and bring it over here, it’ll be the same.”

She never dreamed she would encounter something so absurd.

“That’s right,” Huangshan’s wife nodded quickly, “Let Second Aunt take it home to brew the medicine.”

"No way," Sister-in-law Huang insisted, "I'm going to use a clay pot to brew the medicine today. If you want to brew black dog blood, buy your own clay pot."

“Mother, you’re bullying me,” Huangshan’s wife said, her eyes red with anger. “We haven’t separated our households yet, where am I supposed to get the money to buy a clay pot?”

"Don't you have any conscience saying that?" Sister-in-law Huang had never seen such a shameless young wife. "I won't mention how much Dashan gave you in private, but just these past few days, there's been bean curd residue, talisman water, and black dog blood. Everything costs money. If you didn't have money, how did you buy it?"

I knew my son would leave some money for his wife whenever he had the chance, but I just turned a blind eye because I figured the family would eventually be handed over to the young couple.

I never expected that my good intentions would be met with this.

Sister-in-law Huang was so angry that her face turned green.

Upon hearing this, Huangshan's wife felt a little guilty.

She did have some money left, but it had other uses and couldn't be wasted.

Otherwise, she wouldn't have risked her reputation for a broken clay pot.

“Mother,” Huangshan’s wife simply resorted to shamelessness, “I took this clay pot first. First come, first served. I’ll use it first and then return it to you.”

After saying that, he grabbed the clay pot and ran into the yard, pouring in the still steaming black dog blood without saying a word.
