"What?" Mrs. Jin stood up in surprise. "No money in the account? How is that possible!"
A month ago, when I checked the accounts, there were still more than two thousand taels left. How could they have suddenly disappeared?
“It’s really gone,” Master Jin said, also feeling puzzled. “I don’t know what happened.”
He never cared about such things; if he ran out of money, he would just go to the accounting office to get it. As for how much he spent and how he spent it, that was not within his consideration.
“No,” Mrs. Jin said anxiously, “I’ll go see what’s going on right now.”
"No, please!" Master Jin quickly grabbed Madam Jin's hand. "Give your husband some silver first. It doesn't matter when you check the accounts."
"Silver, silver," these words made Madam Jin, who was already anxious and angry, even angrier. "What else do you know besides silver? You don't care when the manor is out of money, you don't care when your son is beaten, and you still don't care when it's time to worship our ancestors during Qingming Festival? Did I marry a dead man?"
As Mrs. Jin spoke, tears streamed down her face like tiny beans.
Realizing her loss of composure, she glared resentfully at Master Jin before lowering her head and wiping away her tears.
“Madam,” Master Jin’s face turned sour for a moment when he heard these complaints, but he quickly regained his usual playful demeanor. “I’m not ignoring it. It’s not that you’re incompetent. I’m very relieved to have you manage the household. How about I accompany you to the accounting office now?”
Upon hearing this, Madam Jin's expression softened considerably.
"It's good that you have the intention," she sighed, took out two hundred taels of silver notes from her purse and stuffed them into her hand. "Take these two hundred taels first, and I'll go to the accounting office to take a look."
Having been stuck with such a husband in this life, what could she do but accept her fate?
After saying this, Madam Jin ignored Master Jin and left with heavy steps.
Master Jin felt the silver notes were too few and wanted more, but seeing this, he could only give up, saying, "Never mind, I'll come back in a couple of days."
After saying this, he left without even glancing at the mansion.
On the other side, in Tiejiazhuang, as night fell, the three brothers finally woke up.
My first reaction was to quickly touch the area three inches below my abdomen that was throbbing slightly.
Then, without prior arrangement, they all let out a shrill and desperate wail.
"How could this happen?" Tie Laosan still can't believe it. "I've actually become a cripple. Big brother, fourth brother, I've become a cripple."
"That damned ox of the Huang family, if I don't slaughter it," Tie Laoda said through gritted teeth, his eyes red, "I swear I'll never be human again!"
"Big brother, third brother, what should we do?" Tie Lao Si buried his head in the quilt in anguish. "I have no face to live anymore."
If he can't be a man, what face does he have to live?
Living like this, half-dead and dragging on, will only bring shame upon his wife and children and make them the laughingstock of everyone.
"If you want to die, then die already," Tie Laosan gave his younger brother a twisted look and sneered, "Coward!"
She's already acting like a woman just because she lost her manhood, how shameful!
"We can't die like this," Tie Laoda's face was so gloomy it seemed about to burst forth. "At the very least, we must avenge this."
Their lives are over, so we can't let their enemies get away with it!
As the three were talking, a voice came from outside, "Big brother, third brother, fourth brother, you're awake."
The three looked down in the direction of the sound and saw Tie Lao Er carrying a tray. Instantly, their faces turned icy cold.
Tie Laosan glared at his second brother with hatred, "What are you doing here?"
"I'm bringing you medicine."
Tie Lao Er felt a little guilty, but then became confident again.
It wasn't his fault to begin with. He had advised the three of them several times not to go in, but they brought this upon themselves.
However, it was fortunate that this made me the most valued person in the family.
My parents have already said that I will rely on myself for old age, and I will take the lion's share of the family property.
"If you're not going to drink, then get out!"
Now that we know it was all a pretense of delivering medicine, why did you run faster than anyone else back then?
The thought that his desperate pleas for help had been ignored by his own brother filled Tie Laosan with murderous rage.
Even brothers born of the same mother will scatter when disaster strikes; he never imagined that blood ties could be so fragile.
Filled with hatred, Tie Laosan never considered that when he asked for help, he was also dragging his own brother down with him.
"Third brother, don't be impulsive," the eldest brother gave his younger brother a warning look before turning to the second brother, his eyes devoid of any emotion. "What are you doing here?"
He didn't believe it was really just about delivering medicine!
With so many people in the family, it would never be the second son's turn, and besides, he's not exactly a diligent person.
"It really is to deliver medicine." Tie Lao Er placed the tray on the table, coughed twice, and then spoke, "Well, eldest brother, third brother, fourth brother, please accept my condolences."
Upon hearing this, Tie Laosan exploded, roaring with bloodshot eyes, "Get out, or I'll kill you!"
Seeing this, Tie Lao Er wasn't angry. "You guys continue to rest, I'll be going now."
"Wait," Tie Laoda spoke up, his eyes quickly sweeping over the immobile left arm, and asked, "How did we get back? What's the situation now?"
"They were redeemed by the clan," Tie Lao Er didn't hide it, "It cost ten taels of silver, plus one arm from each of you."
After finishing his sentence, Tie Lao Er left without any of his usual flattery or forbearance.
He was just using the excuse of delivering medicine to check on the situation, in case the three brothers were contemplating suicide.
The family had just spent a large sum of money and had no money left for the funeral.
Moreover, if these three people really die, the family will have so many children to raise on their own, and they will never be able to finish raising them even if they work themselves to death.
However, it seems that these three people are a burden even in life.
Thinking of this, Tie Lao Er became worried.
"Big brother," Tie Laosan pointed at Tie Laoer's back and said angrily, "Look at how arrogant Second Brother is. Who does he think he is?"
The railway boss also looked very uncomfortable.
In just a short while, he had already sensed the change in his honest and timid younger brother.
"Leave him alone for now, let him run rampant for a few days," Boss Tie said with his eyes downcast. "Let him take his medicine and get his health back before we talk about it."
"What about Chou?" Tie Laosi asked urgently. "Are we just going to let this go like this?"
"Forget it?" Tie Laosan said resolutely, "Why should I? Even if I die, I will take a piece of the Huang family!"
“Yes, whether it’s that damned cow or the Huang family,” Tie Laoda spat out through gritted teeth, “I won’t let a single one of them go.”
That ox deserves to be torn to pieces, but the Huang family must not be spared.
If they hadn't raised that dead cow, the three brothers wouldn't have ended up like this.
This grudge must be avenged, blood must be paid for!
"Brother," Tie Laosi asked dejectedly, "do we still have a chance?"
Now that he's in such a wretched state, unable to even get out of bed, how difficult it would be to talk about revenge!
“How could there be no chance?” A ruthless glint flashed in Tie Laoda’s eyes. “Since the Huang family is so heartless, then don’t blame me for being ruthless.”
