Chapter 220 Tie it up

Chief Huang felt truly disheartened. All his scheming and plotting were for the sake of his descendants, but his son was short-sighted and couldn't wait to take his place.

Is this position really that easy to hold? If he weren't so incompetent, would he have had to lose face like this?

With a pained look at his eldest son, Chief Huang frowned and pondered how to break the current deadlock.

His eyes gleamed, and after a moment, he had an idea.

He called his sons over and said, “These people arrested people without even asking questions. Do they really think we ordinary folks are powerless and can be bullied? Eldest son, you take the back road back to the village and get more people. The three of you, come with me to seek justice.”

This matter absolutely cannot be resolved peacefully. No matter what the officials are like, they will still make them bleed.

“Alright,” the eldest son of the Huang family had long wanted to leave, and immediately nodded. “Father, be careful, I’m leaving.”

After saying that, he ran back without looking back.

“Let’s go too,” Chief Huang waved his hand. “Everyone, be more confident and don’t lose your nerve before you even make your appearance, or you won’t be able to explain yourself properly.”

"Father, stop talking," the third son of the Huang family urged. "Hurry up, my wife is weak and can't take this."

“All you ever do is think about your wife,” Chief Huang sneered. “Your own father is not even as good as your wife. You have no filial piety whatsoever.”

If it weren't for the urgency of the situation, he would have definitely given his foolish son a good lesson.

He flicked his sleeves forcefully before leading his men to search for them.

On the oxcart, Lai Zi saw the newcomers and laughed angrily, "What are you trying to do? Rob me?"

"Don't try to distort the truth," Chief Huang said righteously, pointing at the oxcart. "You corrupt officials, you know the law but break it. You dare to forcibly abduct innocent women in broad daylight. Today, I will fight to the death to get justice."

Taking a breather, he continued, "Release my daughter and daughter-in-law immediately, or don't blame me for taking this to the authorities."

“Abducting respectable women,” Lai Zi raised an eyebrow, pointing at the two people behind the car. “Them? Plain and simple, not some stunning beauties, and they have no shame whatsoever. They could strip naked and no one would even glance at them.”

This undisguised contempt made the two men behind the oxcart blush with embarrassment.

He felt deeply ashamed and indignant.

Even knowing that I'm shameless, it still feels incredibly embarrassing to be told that so bluntly.

“Shut up, you’re talking nonsense,” the third son of the clan chief said angrily. “My wife isn’t that kind of person, and she doesn’t want to do it either, but she’s forced to.”

"Third son," upon hearing this unsolicited confession, Chief Huang wanted nothing more than to slap his son twice, "Shut up."

“Lai Zi,” Chief Huang glared at his son and stepped forward, speaking decisively, “No matter what, you must give me an explanation for what happened today.”

"Give you an explanation?" Lai Zi gave Chief Huang a strange look. "Fine, since you want it, I'd feel bad if I didn't grant your wish. Brothers, tie them all up."

If someone dares to make you unhappy, make them even more unhappy.

As soon as Lai Zi finished speaking, the people on the oxcart immediately swarmed off, grabbed sticks, rushed over, subdued the people, and tied them all up.

"What are you trying to do?" Chief Huang panicked. "Kidnapping people for no reason, is there no law anymore?"

Why do these people act so irrationally?

I hope I don't actually end up in jail.

He was a scholar; how could he go to such a filthy place? These officials were truly lawless.

And that bastard Lai Zi, he really doesn't show any mercy at all!
