Chapter 92 Ghost Husband...Husband?

Jiang Shumiao did not come alone.

As soon as she entered the room, she raised her hand and flung out a person—a Taoist priest.

When Zhuang Xiuyan saw the man's appearance, all color drained from her face.

Her first instinct was to feign fainting, but she couldn't manage it. Then she met Jiang Shumiao's clear and bright eyes, and a sudden jolt went through her.

This is no ordinary child.

She is a goddess.

A goddess who can slay great demons, vanquish evil spirits, and capture wicked ghosts.

Her little tricks were no match for him at all.

The people seated all stood up and bowed respectfully to Jiang Shumiao, not daring to be negligent in the slightest.

Jiang Shumiao's expression was calm, calmer than a five-year-old child. Her voice was still childish, yet it carried an air of authority that commanded respect.

"Unless evil spirits and demons cause trouble, I will not interfere in human affairs. Today I originally intended to cast that evil spirit into the underworld, but I saw dark clouds shrouding your mansion, indicating that your fortune is about to run out. After some calculation, I realized that it was all due to a muddled lawsuit."

Upon hearing this, everyone's expression changed.

Zhuang Shixu couldn't help but step forward, "What do you mean by that, Princess?"

Jiang Shumiao's gaze swept across his and Old Madam Zhuang's faces. "I have emphasized countless times that good and evil go hand in hand, cause and effect follow each other, and retribution will surely come. Yet there are still some ignorant and arrogant people who think they are clever, greedy and insatiable, and commit all kinds of evil."

She had indeed said this many times, and the children at the Imperial Academy were tired of hearing it. But it must be said that children are simple-minded and much more obedient than adults.

Some people become more and more confused and selfish as they live.

Take this person in front of us, for example.

Jiang Shumiao didn't waste any more words. She glanced at the Taoist priest she had thrown to the ground and said, "It was he who arranged the ghost marriage for Madam Zhuang."

She used to call her "Sister Xiyan," but now she calls her "Madam," clearly indicating that she is angry.

The Taoist priest had clearly been beaten; he was covered in injuries and was now afraid to even breathe for fear of angering Jiang Shumiao.

Upon hearing this, Zhuang Xiyan looked over and subconsciously clenched her fist.

Cheng Jinyi's expression was very unpleasant. "A Taoist who uses evil magic to harm people is probably not a proper Taoist."

Jiang Shumiao nodded.

She stretched out her right hand, and an urn appeared out of thin air in her palm, with a yellow talisman pasted on it and a red thread wrapped around the spout.

Zhuang Xiyan's breathing quickened. "Princess, this is..."

"It's the ashes of that evil spirit."

She thought for a moment, then released the ghost again. Zhuang Xiuyan stared wide-eyed in terror, bracing herself on the ground as she stumbled backward.

The evil spirit was still begging for mercy.

"Great Immortal, spare me! Great Immortal, spare me! I was deceived! Please, Great Immortal, have mercy!"

"Shut up!"

Without saying a word, Jiang Shumiao slapped him.

Apart from Zhuang Xiyan, everyone else stared at the scene in shock.

The ghost looked rather pitiful; its features were all disfigured, making it quite terrifying. He dared not utter another sound. He only managed to glare fiercely at Zhuang Xiuyan, feeling that this woman was responsible for his fate.

"What do you mean by innocent? Those who harbor lewd thoughts and bring harm to the human world are called evil spirits. When you arrive in the underworld, you will be burned by the fires of the netherworld every day, and then thrown into the River of Oblivion to have your soul condense. This cycle will repeat itself 3,600 times before you can be reincarnated."

Everyone gasped.

Jiang Shumiao then looked at the Taoist priest lying on the ground, "As a Taoist practitioner, to harm people with evil arts and seek personal gain is a great evil and deserves to be executed!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the evil path began to self-immolate without any fire.

The screams were so loud they almost pierced everyone's eardrums, and everyone involuntarily backed away.

In the firelight, faint cries for mercy could be heard.

"Goddess, have mercy! I know I was wrong, I will never dare to do it again... Ah..."

In a short while, he was completely burned to ashes, his soul leaving his body and floating in the air, with a clear look of fear still visible in his eyes.

Jiang Shumiao looked at the two ghosts and suddenly had an idea.

With a thought, the red rope on the urn untied, and as if imbued with spirit, it swiftly bound the two ghosts together. Under the terrified gazes of the two ghosts, she drew a talisman in the air.

"The mysteries of heaven and earth, the laws of the universe, the Lord of the Netherworld, with the talisman as your witness, forge a Yin pact and lock us in!"

The ashes of the two ghosts were completely absorbed into the yellow talisman, then flew towards the red rope, shining brightly before disappearing without a trace.

"Don't you like arranging ghost marriages for people? Then go to the underworld and suffer together, be a ghost couple... no, a ghost husband and wife."

What the hell is this couple?

Even Cheng Jinyi, who was usually well-mannered, couldn't help but twitch her lips. Then she thought of how these two evil cultivators had almost killed his wife. Well, she could only say that they had brought it on themselves.

The two ghosts didn't even have a chance to beg for mercy before Jiang Shumiao sent them to the underworld.

Zhuang Xiuyan was already terrified. When she met Jiang Shumiao's gaze, she was filled with panic and immediately grabbed the hem of Old Madam Zhuang's clothes, "Grandmother, save me! I don't want to die, Grandmother..."

Old Madam Zhuang instinctively wanted to help her up, but heard Jiang Shumiao give a soft snort.

"When you were doing evil, didn't you think about this day coming?"

Zhuang Xiuyan was about to deny it, but fearing her methods, she could only keep crying and begging. Even at this point, she was unwilling to ask the real victim for forgiveness, and still tried to gain the pity of the two highest-ranking people in the family by showing weakness.

Old Madam Zhuang couldn't bear it. "Princess, Xiuyan is young. Perhaps she's just confused for a moment. How can a little girl fight against those evil ghosts and Taoist priests? Please have mercy and spare her this time."

Her tone was no longer as harsh as before; she softened her words and pleaded.

Zhuang Shixu remained silent.

He started to disappear again, playing dead, and putting on a stern face for others, perfectly embodying the image of a bewildered father caught in the middle.

Madam Ning remained silent.

She felt heartbroken for her eldest daughter's plight and disillusioned with her youngest. But since her daughter was the one she had carried for ten months, she couldn't bear to part with her and could only remain silent.
