Chapter 112 Chen Yanxue

Before the Sword Tomb Courtyard, Li Qianyun led the disciples of the Discipline Hall to this place by following the trail.

One of Li Qianyun's disciples stopped him as he was about to continue forward: "Senior Brother, the courtyard of Senior Brother Zuo Huaixin of the Sword Tomb is ahead. Wouldn't it be inappropriate for us to just barge in like this?"

Li Qianyun glared at him. "What's wrong with it? Why are you so hesitant about searching for thieves?"

As she spoke, Li Qianyun stepped forward and knocked on the door. The room was brightly lit, but no one answered.

Just moments before Li Qianyun arrived with her entourage, Zuo Huaixin, who had returned to his room and was meditating, suddenly discovered that someone had broken into his room.

He opened his eyes and saw the man in black who had broken in, and then he saw the bloodstains on her shoulder: "If I were you, I wouldn't hide in this room."

The woman in black was already seriously injured. She said softly, "I heard that Senior Liu of Sword Tomb has a disciple who is kind-hearted. I was in a panic and thought that I might be able to find a way to survive here."

"Your voice sounds familiar. Are you a disciple of a sect? Although I dislike fighting, I am not incapable of distinguishing between good and evil. Since you have chosen your own death, I will personally send you to the Discipline Hall."

As he spoke, Zuo Huaixin immediately attacked, attempting to subdue the woman in black. The woman in black was already severely injured and no match for Zuo Huaixin. After several exchanges, she was struck down with a palm strike. The young man stepped forward and tore off her veil. Zuo Huaixin froze on the spot, exclaiming, "Junior Sister Chen? How could it be you?"

The man in black was Chen Yanxue, who had been taken in as a disciple by her junior uncle, Nangong Ling'er. Although the two had not known each other for long, they were still fellow disciples. With the upcoming sect martial arts competition, the second-generation disciples of the sect had been interacting more frequently and had become much more familiar with each other than before.

When the Discipline Hall sounded the alarm fireworks earlier, Zuo Huaixin naturally knew that thieves had invaded the mountain gate. Now that Chen Yanxue was dressed like this, how could he not understand what was going on?

Before he could ask any more questions, Zuo Huaixin felt a pang of pity upon seeing the girl who was growing weaker after fighting with him. He immediately stopped her bleeding and treated her wounds. But at that moment, Li Qianyun's voice suddenly came from outside the door.

"Senior Brother Zuo? Are you inside?"

Hearing this, Chen Yanxue looked panicked and shook her head pleadingly at Zuo Huaixin, her eyes seeming to beg him not to hand her over. Zuo Huaixin hesitated for a moment and asked quietly, "Junior sister, I heard before that you are a member of the Demonic Sect, is that true?"

Chen Yanxue shook her head. "I'm not a bad person... Senior brother, please believe me. Don't let them take me away. I'll explain to you later. If the people from the Discipline Hall take me away in my current state, I definitely won't survive..."

Zuo Huaixin hesitated for a moment. Being kind-hearted by nature, he instinctively sympathized with the weak, especially since this person was his fellow disciple. Seeing her in this state, he softened. He thought to himself that he should save her first and then report to his master after finding out the situation.

So he nodded and said in a low voice, "I'll believe you for now. I'll help you stop the people outside, but you have to explain what happened today to me later."

As he spoke, Zuo Huaixin remained cautious, sealing Chen Yanxue's acupoints and hiding her under the bed. He then opened the door and saw Li Qianyun. "Junior Brother Li, what brings you here so late?"

Li Qianyun glanced at the room seemingly casually and said, "Senior Brother Zuo, a thief broke into the Discipline Hall tonight. I was ordered to investigate and followed the bloodstains to the Sword Tomb. Please forgive me for the inconvenience. Did you see anyone suspicious, Senior Brother?"

Zuo Huaixin thought for a moment, then shook his head, refusing to answer the question. For someone like him, lying seemed to be a very difficult thing, so he simply shook his head.

Li Qianyun was somewhat suspicious and asked, "Then... Senior Brother, may I go inside and check the situation?"

Zuo Huaixin was somewhat uneasy, but he still tried to remain calm and said, "Junior brother, you don't believe me?"

Upon hearing this, Li Qianyun hesitated for a moment. If this were in the Discipline Hall, it would be fine, but he didn't want to offend his fellow disciples in the Sword Tomb. Moreover, Zuo Huaixin's character was well-known. So he immediately said, "Junior brother, it's not that you don't trust your senior brother, it's just a routine matter. Please don't make things difficult for us."

Without a second thought, Li Qianyun barged in, followed by her men.

However, Li Qianyun did not allow them to search the room. Instead, he walked around the room until he reached the bedside, where he inadvertently noticed a section of black clothing sticking out from the side of the bed.

However, he didn't make a sound. He simply kicked the black clothes under the bed with his foot, then walked to the door, bowed to Zuo Huaixin, and said, "Senior Brother Zuo, if you find anything unusual, be sure to notify us immediately!"

Li Qianyun's subtle actions went unnoticed.

Seeing that no problems were found during the search, Zuo Huaixin breathed a sigh of relief and then watched the group leave.

After Li Qianyun left the courtyard, her subordinate asked, "Senior Brother, Senior Brother Zuo seemed very nervous just now. Could there be a problem?"

Li Qianyun shook her head. "Senior Brother Zuo grew up in the sect since childhood and is of pure and kind nature. There won't be any problems with him. Moreover, with his strength, even if he encounters that man in black, it won't be a problem at all. Let's go and check other places."

After watching the searchers leave, Zuo Huaixin pulled Chen Yanxue out from under the bed and began treating her. "Who exactly are you?"

Although Chen Yanxue was very weak, she was still quite lucid. She chuckled softly and said, "Senior brother... I am Chen Yanxue, a disciple of Lotus Platform."

Hearing this, Zuo Huaixin shook his head. "Tonight, something happened in the Discipline Hall, and you escaped to me in your night clothes, even getting injured. I only saved you because we're fellow disciples, but once your injuries have stabilized, I will still hand you over to my master for disposal!"
