Both she and Ren Baiping had weekends off, and they agreed to meet on Sunday.
They agreed to meet at the zoo so that everyone could save time.
The zoo is quite crowded on weekends, so they booked their appointments early to avoid being overcrowded and not being able to see anything.
Cheng Qicai got up early in the morning, got ready, and finally put her cosmetics to good use. She did a beautiful makeup look and went out to her appointment.
She contacted Ren Baiping as soon as she left home, and when she transferred trains on the next trip, she told him that she was going to transfer.
To avoid her suddenly cutting off contact and making the other party think she did it on purpose.
When she boarded the bus she was transferring to, she saw Ren Baiping asking her which bus she was transferring to.
Cheng Qicai: [Line 7.]
Which station on Line 7?
Cheng Qicai sent him the name of the location.
The other person replied: "[I'm also at this station on Line 7. We should be on the same train. Which carriage are you in?]"
Upon seeing the message, Cheng Qicai straightened up and looked around, but did not see the familiar figure in the photo.
She said it was too much of a coincidence that they were in the same train carriage; that would have been an incredible coincidence.
She told him the carriage number, and Ren Baiping said he would come find her.
Cheng Qicai put away her phone and looked around at both ends of the carriage to see if anyone was coming.
A short while later, Cheng Qicai saw a boy who looked similar to the one in the photo walking this way.
The other person was carrying a black bag, wearing a military green bomber jacket, black jeans, and a pair of black Doc Martens.
Well, apart from the clothing style not being similar to the photo, the face is quite similar.
Cheng Qicai waved, and the other person saw her and quickly walked towards her.
There happened to be a seat next to her, so Ren Baiping sat down next to her. He greeted Cheng Qicai in a natural tone, "What a coincidence, I thought we were going to meet at the zoo entrance, but I didn't expect to see you on the subway."
With this coincidence, the awkwardness between the two lessened considerably. Cheng Qicai smiled and chimed in, "Yes, I was also surprised when I found out. It's such a coincidence."
Ren Baiping asked, "By the way, do you want to explore freely later or see the popular animals first?"
Cheng Qicai thought for a moment and said, "How about we choose a popular event? If there are too many people later, we might not be able to squeeze in."
Because it was the weekend, there were already many people visiting, especially children, so Cheng Qicai didn't want to squeeze into this place when it got crowded.
“Great! I looked at the park map yesterday. The most popular animals are pandas, red pandas, and golden monkeys. The other animals tend to have fewer visitors. If we take this path, we can see these popular animals first, and then visit the other animals before exiting through the west gate.”
Ren Baiping took out a map of the zoo from his phone and pointed to the route he had planned beforehand.
"Wow, your itinerary is really well thought out," Cheng Qicai praised, then thought of a problem, "What if I say I want to just play freely? Wouldn't your itinerary be wasted?"
"It doesn't matter, it's all about having fun. I spent some time checking last night just in case anything unexpected happens."
Although that's what Ren Baiping said, Cheng Qicai still felt that he had put his heart into it.
She waved the camera in her hand, "Then I'll take a few more pictures of you later."
“Great!” Ren Baiping laughed.
Cheng Qicai noticed that he had two shallow dimples on his cheeks.
She exclaimed in surprise, "You have dimples! It's rare to see guys with them!"
Ren Baiping touched his face. "This? My parents both have it, so I inherited it from them."
Cheng Qicai was intrigued by this little tidbit of knowledge and asked, "Are dimples hereditary?"
"Yes, dimples are a dominant trait. Both my parents have them, so the probability of me inheriting them is very high."
"Then wouldn't all three of you have dimples?" Cheng Qicai continued to ask curiously.
"No, my grandma has one too, so there are four people," Ren Baiping said.
"Well, it seems your family has a long tradition of dimples. I used to think it would be hard to find someone with so many dimples, but now I've met one with so many."
Cheng Qicai couldn't help but think of the type she had just told Gu Rongqi last time. She had actually met someone like him so soon. Although he wasn't 100% a perfect match, he was about 70% or 80% a perfect match.
Such a strong connection made it hard for Cheng Qicai not to overthink things...
Did those roses she picked really bring her incredible luck in love?
"We've arrived," Ren Baiping called out to Cheng Qicai, who was lost in thought.
"Oh, okay." Cheng Qicai snapped out of her daze, stood up, and walked out of the subway with him.
The zoo is not far from the subway station; it's just a few hundred meters away.
The two scanned the code and went inside. There weren't many people there yet. Cheng Qicai followed Ren Baiping's planned route and first went to the panda pavilion.
There aren't many people in the panda enclosure right now, but there are still quite a few. Luckily, they started with the popular attractions first, otherwise this area might be even more crowded later.
Inside the enclosure, the giant panda was leisurely eating bamboo, and Cheng Qicai was immediately charmed by its adorable appearance.
Cheng Qicai took a few pictures of the pandas, then turned to look at Ren Baiping.
"Would you like me to take a picture of you with the panda?"
"Okay, thank you for your help."
Ren Baiping stood in front of the stranded glass, his smile relaxed and natural. He raised his hand, and it looked like he was patting a panda's head.
Cheng Qicai saw that he posed very well and didn't need much guidance. His poses were very interesting, so the photos taken were naturally of good quality.
When he saw Cheng Qicai look up at him, he would immediately change to a new gesture, without Cheng Qicai needing to say anything.
After taking enough photos, Ren Baiping asked, "Do you need me to take more photos for you?"
Cheng Qicai was taken aback.
“I studied photography for a while before, but I got too busy and stopped,” Ren Baiping said with a smile. “Don’t worry, I won’t make you look too ugly in the photos.”
"No, I just didn't react for a moment." Cheng Qicai knew he had misunderstood and handed him the camera. "Since you said so, I definitely believe you. Besides, your pose is much better than mine."
Ren Baiping modestly replied, "No, I'm just an amateur."
"I'm an amateur too, haha."
"Then the two of us, who are both amateurs, can learn from each other and make progress together."
The two walked and talked about new photography techniques. Through their conversations, Cheng Qicai learned a lot of photography skills from him.
Cheng Qicai looked at the photos he had taken of her, and they were indeed very well taken.
"You took great photos! You made me look much better in them," Cheng Qicai praised.
"No, you are very beautiful and have a very vibrant personality. Besides, you took a great picture of me."
Hearing the two of them praising each other back and forth, Cheng Qicai couldn't help but laugh, "So, are we now considered to be doing mutual flattery?"
"Haha...no, it's considered being realistic?"
"Ah, yes, yes, yes!"
Cheng Qicai nodded with a smile.
She found it quite interesting to talk to Ren Baiping; the two of them could catch each other's words.
