Chapter 146

The two walked slowly around the river several times, both of them bringing cameras with them this time.

The two walked around, stopping occasionally to take a few photos and chat, creating a very harmonious atmosphere.

Cheng Qicai saw the boats on the river and called out to Ren Baiping, "Ren Baiping, would you like to take a boat ride?"

Ren Baiping turned to Cheng Qicai and asked, "Do you want to take a boat?"

Cheng Qicai nodded, "Yes, it's a foot pedal. I've never played with this kind before."

Ren Baiping looked at the boats on the lake and found them quite interesting. He smiled and nodded, "Sure, I've never ridden one before."

After paying, the two put on their life jackets and sat on either side of the boat.

They were incredibly excited when they got on the boat, and the two of them pushed the boat desperately toward the middle of the river. Only when they were exhausted did the boat slowly come to a stop.

The boat rocked back and forth with the ripples on the water.

"Ren Baiping!" Cheng Qicai looked at the emerald green lake and called out to him earnestly.

Noticing the seriousness in Cheng Qicai's tone, Ren Baiping paused for a moment, then asked with a smile, "What's wrong?"

"It's about what Wang Mai mentioned last time about you wanting to go abroad for joint training..."

"Yes, I do have that idea," Ren Baiping nodded.

“What I wanted to say,” Cheng Qicai hesitated for a moment, took a deep breath, and steadied her voice, “is that we might be better suited to be friends.”

For a moment, Cheng Qicai could not hear Ren Baiping's voice, only the sound of water hitting the hull.

Her heart skipped a beat, and she didn't dare to glance at his expression.

Was he angry? Or was he about to yell at himself?

She now deeply regrets her impulsive words; she should have found a teahouse to discuss them calmly.

At worst, one can drink some tea to cover up their embarrassment.

What can we do now, jump into the lake?

"good."

Ren Baiping's simple answer actually made Cheng Qicai a little flustered.

She turned to look at Ren Baiping and couldn't help but ask, "Aren't you going to ask me why?"

"Why?" Ren Baiping looked back at her and asked.

When Ren Baiping asked her this question in a way that followed her words, she was taken aback.

Ren Baiping laughed, "Alright, actually I expected this a long time ago."

"Huh?" Cheng Qicai's mind was even more unable to process Ren Baiping's reaction.

“You only ever had feelings for me as a friend. When you heard about my joint training program last time, your expression changed even more, and I knew this was how it would end,” Ren Baiping explained.

"Well, actually I think we might be a good match as lovers, but..."

“But you don’t have feelings for me, do you?” Ren Baiping continued her sentence.

Noticing Cheng Qicai's guilty expression, he slowly said, "Actually, I still have quite a few feelings for you. How should I put it, it's rare to meet someone of the same sex with similar hobbies and interests, let alone someone of the opposite sex. Besides, you're quite good-looking and not picky about looks. Even someone like me, you're still willing to get to know me better..."

Cheng Qicai knew he was saying this on purpose to put her at ease, but she still couldn't help interrupting, "You're going a bit too far with what you're saying. You don't have to belittle yourself like that. Besides, you're good-looking, and you're top-notch in every other aspect. You have a good education, high IQ, and a humorous personality... What do you call that? You're one in a million interesting souls."

Upon hearing Cheng Qicai's praise, Ren Baiping burst into laughter, "Haha...you've said that before, haven't you?"

"Didn't you start it first?" Cheng Qicai couldn't help but retort.

The two looked at each other and then burst into laughter.

The solemn atmosphere from before was completely swept away.
